5 Bedroom 2nd Row Home with Heated Pool and Spectacular Marsh and Ocean Views

This new, 5-bedroom home, finished in May 2016, boasts the best decks on the island. Enjoy ocean and marsh views from two levels of wrap around porches that ensure plenty of sun or shade to meet your mood at any time of the day. From the back decks we have spotted deer, coyotes, and several bird species. From the front deck, you can see dolphins playing in the wake of shrimping boats, rabbits hopping in the dunes, and on May 6th, we even spotted a whale breaching.

The CAMA public beach access directly across the street makes getting to the beach a breeze, and a private pool, shaded at mid-day, offers a relaxing alternative to the ocean. Your family will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water.

The home is built on an inverted floor plan with four bedrooms on the first level: facing the ocean are: a six-person bunk bed room that is perfect for kids and a queen bedroom, and facing the marsh are one queen bedroom and one bedroom with two twin beds. The master bedroom, with a king bed, provides an amazing ocean view from the second level. Also on the second level are: the kitchen, dining room and living room, all with views of both the ocean and marsh. This house has beds for 8 adults and 6 children. 10 adults can also comfortably sleep with two adults per bedroom.

This house has two levels of wrap around porches to optimize vistas of the ocean and marsh. Enjoy views of the ocean from rocking chairs on the top deck or the first floor deck. Enjoy a meal and a spectacular marsh view from the top rear deck - you might spot deer, raccoons and coyotes and you will definitely see several birds and crabs. Relax by the marsh on the first floor rear deck with cushioned patio furniture and a 4 person table perfect for a board game or a snack. The front and rear decks are connected through large side decks which provide great play areas for kids. Should pool time prove too much fun, take a break at the pool-side, shaded picnic table. It is a great spot for lunch and it's close to the charcoal grill available for renters to use. If you're visiting us in the off-season, the pool can be heated for your comfort.

Mostly great

This is our second stay at the Purple Porpoise and our family of 10 had a great vacation both times.Things we loved: Location, view, marsh, house design and outside spaces. Suggestions: Extra towels, fridge way too small for 10 people and ice maker was anemic and fridge took a long time to cool back down after loading it. A large salad bowl and some regular cookie sheets would be nice. Sharpen knives. One broken beach chair and a lounge chair by the pool needs replacing. None of these, except maybe fridge comments, are at all serious complaints. It's a great house.

Great house and amenities.

Great common areas and bedrooms. The house had easy access to the beach and the pool was great in the evenings. Check-in and out was easy, house manager was very friendly and communicated well.

Another girl trip in the books!

This was second time staying at the Purple Porpoise! We are a group of nurses who vacation together for many many years! House was clean , spacious and plenty of room. Views from back deck at sunset are breathtaking . Right across street from beach with easy beach access.

Can’t beat location!

This is our fourth time staying in this house with two families with children. The views from the house and the quick walk to the beach are amazing. And the pool is a nice bonus! The house itself is clean and in great shape. Lots of beach chairs, toys, games, and books (kids and adult) available. We always have a great stay!

Perfect vacation home!

This was our third stay at this lovely home. The views are amazing and access to the beach is just a few steps away. My family and I love the heated pool which is perfect for an early spring vacation. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable and the house is always clean! Communicating with Monica is quick and easy. Planning to be back again next year!

Perfect location

The property was exactly as described and was spotless! We loved the location, which provided fabulous views of both the ocean and marsh. The beach access was right across the street and the beach was gorgeous. We really appreciated the owners allowing us to check in early.

Beautiful Home!

We loved this home. It had everything we needed. There were pool and beach toys as well as beach chairs. Although I didn’t need them, they provided pack-n-plays and a high chair, abundant towels and wash cloths. I would stay agin!!!

The best views on Holden Beach!

This is our 2nd visit to Holden Beach and first time staying at this property. One of our favorite things about this house is the views. Ocean views in the front and marsh views in the back where the sunsets are amazing! We also enjoyed the pool in the late afternoons. The beach access is right across the street. The house is as described and even better in person. We will definitely return! Thanks!!

Another nice vacation at this place

This was the second time my family, eight of us, stayed at this house. We enjoy the location of the house, just across the road from the beach access with a view of the ocean and the marsh. The house was clean which is a necessity for me, and has enough room for our family to spread out. The owner is always very prompt to respond and help in any way. Already planning to stay here again next year!

Family Week at Beach

2nd year here. Great location and kids like having pool when weather or heat keeps ocean off limits. Overall great house but it has been a rental for a while and starting to show use. Nothing terrible but this is a premium price point so the details should be a little more polished.

Best beach house!

This was our second stay at this property. You can’t beat the location and views. This house is good for kids, there are toys, books, high chair, etc. Our only complaint was the pool heater wasn’t working. But the host sent people out quickly to attempt to fix it. Couldn’t have asked for more. We look forward to coming here again!

Fantastic location

This home is in a fantastic location with both a view of the marsh and an unobstructed view of the ocean. The heated pool was such a nice bonus for the kids. Everyone was comfortable thanks to the large open living room and kitchen and plenty of outdoor seating options. If you are a light sleeper and prefer very dark rooms to sleep, just beware that there are shades on most windows but they’ll still let in alot of light.

Amazing Home!

This is my second stay in this beautiful home. I was here last spring with friends and knew I wanted to come back and bring my family. Staying at the Purple Porpoise is start to finish a perfect vacation experience. The home is clean and inviting with lovely finishes and decor. The views are truly stunning and can be viewed from the decks or from inside through the numerous windows. The heated pool is an added delight- perfect for late afternoon early evening Spring weather. So easy to communicate with Monica and truly awesome to vacation in this incredible home. Can’t wait to come back!

A Family Getaway
