"Have stayed a number of times over about 10 years or so - is consistently good. Staff are always friendly and helpful, food is excellent and very good local beer is available. The rooms are small but do what is needed and have always been clean. This is a proper traditional country pub and we need more of them!"

"We stayed for an event at UEA and the location was perfect for this. Setting was beautiful in a small village with a river running through -great for an evening stroll. Our bedroom was very very close to the road which becomes a commuter cut through in the mornings. This did lead to some unwelcome traffic noise from around 530am. "

Whilst not "luxurious" by Ritz standards, the room was perfectly adequate, comfortable and very clean with all amenities and highly recommended as a base for visiting relatives and the surrounding area. "We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival and attentive service throughout our stay. Room was brilliant, lovely character and very warm and cosy. All amenities we needed for our stay. Wonderful choice of hot breakfast dishes which were cooked and presented to a high standard and accompanied by fruits, yogurt, nuts, seeds, toast, preserves etc etc. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful charming hotel and will definitely stay again when in the area. "We stayed here due to a wedding at nearby Bruisyard. It was a lovely stay and I couldn’t fault it, a beautiful setting full of nature and a very well preserved property. Liz was very accommodating allowing us to drop our luggage and car off earlier than check in; we also came down to a very very nice breakfast with something for everyone. "
