"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. "We had booked two rooms here, both were nice and comfy. There were some farmyard animals wandering about (cute pygmy goats, dog etc) which were interesting. We had an amazing meal in the pub, really delicious. Would definitely stay again or drive out of my way to eat here. "
