Located in the heart of St. Andrews just a few short blocks from the first tee at The Old Course, this flat offers comfort and convenience for exploring the town as well as easy access to the University. Shops, restaurants and markets are just a stroll away from the front door. Historical sites including the cathedral ruins, castle and museums are all within walking distance. The building was constructed in 1771, relatively new by St. Andrews standards, where the University itself is 600 years old. The 65 square meter dwelling has two bedrooms, one bath and a full kitchen and can accommodate 4 adults. The living room features a beautiful bay window, fireplace and comfortable seating for conversation and cuddling up on the couch with a great book. Amenities include wireless internet service, flat-screen TV and stereo. The Kitchen contains all modern appliances and cookware. The flat was completely renovated in 2013.

Perfect Location

This flat is the perfect location, close to whatever you need. We were there for our son’s graduation from St Andrews were pleased with the location. The flat is cozy and filled with so many Scottish decorations. Lynne made sure we were well taken care, providing us with some essential foods given our late arrival. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this wonderful flat.

Amazing place

My husband and I just travelled all through Scotland for 3 weeks and just loved it. Our final destination was St Andrews and this VRBO which IS The Best Location in St Andrews ! The apartment was absolutely beautiful, so well appointed and the location was amazing within walking distance from the heart of the area. Both Roberta and Lynne were incredible hosts and very attentive with any inquiries we had. The apartment decor added such a lovely charm to our stay. Much thought has gone into everything and it shows. We loved the activity of the Pub below us. It just added to the University vibe !! Thank you for such a great experience. We just love St Andrews and Scotland !!

Another Perfect Stay

My husband and I have stayed before and will stay again. The apartment is in an ideal location with beautiful windows looking out over the pretty streets of St. Andrews. Inside, the apartment is beautifully and warmly decorated. Check-in and check-out is easy and smooth.

Relaxing in St. Andrews

My husband and I were in St. Andrews for the golf tournament and stayed in a hotel in another part of town for that time period. We moved into this apartment after the tournament to relax and enjoy the town of St. Andrews. This apartment is beautifully maintained and is in a perfect spot to walk to everything in St. Andrews, so in that respect the location is perfect. We used the kitchen for breakfast and some lunches and it was very well equipped. Lynne, the property manager, even put some snack food in the house as well as milk, juice and fruit for our use. The only reason we gave the check in a 4 is because Lynne was unable to meet with us to let us in and give us a tour, but she texted the instructions to us which were very easy to understand and she was good about getting back to us when we had questions. We gave the location a 4 because it is located over a bar and since it was quite warm we had to have the windows open and the noise in the evening was a bit bothersome to us. We could hear it a little bit in the bedroom at night as well, Bottom line is we had a wonderful time and it was very relaxing, comfortable, clean and efficient so that's why I gave it a 5 for the overall rating. (P.S. The apartment does have a washer, but it's a European style washer / dryer combination and is not nearly as efficient as the separate washers and dryers we have in the US. We spent way too many hours doing our laundry. That being said, we were quite grateful to at least have the ability to wash our clothes.)

A very lovely property

It is clear that the property was updated a number of years ago with much care and attention. The abode is wonderful and has everything that one would need for a most pleasant stay. The only issue that we had was the noise from the pub downstairs quite loud on Saturday.

Perfect in Every Way

This perfect apartment is in the middle of St. Andrews. It is beautifully and warmly decorated down to the smallest details. We have stayed in other lodgings in the area, but this will always be our first choice from now on.

A lovely stay in St Andrews

The flat was very comfortable and stylish . Very well equipped. We loved the mix of old and new from furnishing to artwork to accessories. Great location. Everything was on our doorstep. Owner answered promptly to any queries we had. Lynne our contact in St Andrews was just lovely, so helpful. We loved our stay.

Disappointed

The checkin process was unyielding and caretaker was rude and disgruntle. He was short and cutting when we met even willfully allowing the door to slam in my face. He only thawed when I became direct and firm in conversation with him. He was unresponsive when I had problems with getting the TV (which has 4 remotes) to work and very gruff. Not what I expected in St Andrews. Unfortunate as it would have taken so little to make a good impression. Despite staying 2 nights and paying for 4 only using one of the two bedrooms; at 10:07 he opened the door without knocking to me in my dressing gown saying “oh, you are still here, I thought you left”. After a few awkward seconds he said he was going for a coffee and will be back. I told him it will take more than a coffee to be ready and he responded that he will he back in an hour. I did my best to be out of there as quickly as possible not to encounter this man again. There were signs of what’s to come when I was pressured weeks in advance to give them an arrival time because the caretakers wife was going on holiday and she needed to line matters up. This coming at a time when there was an impending death in my immediate family and I was not sure when I could make the trip to take my son to school as I may need to be planning a funeral. No consideration or flexibility in having a friend get the keys to stop the persistence of setting a check in time. Soo stressful it all was - unnecessarily. Lovely home but am not likely to repeat the experience.

Best located flat in St Andrews !

Absolutely perfect location, could walk to any and all amenities, university buildings, and golf. Well appointed flat, everything in great working order, stocked with basic necessities upon arrival like nespresso, milk, biscuits, and other items. Easy check in and check out, and owners were always available as needed. If visiting, golfing, or have a student at uni, this is the flat to have! Looking forward to staying here in the years ahead as we visit. Thanks for a truly memorable week.

Another amazing stay at 4B Alexander Place St. Andrews

We just left this beautiful flat after spending a lovely week in St. Andrews celebrating our daughter’s graduation from the University. I had stayed in this flat a few years ago while visiting her and it was just as lovely this time as last. The flat is so comfortable and felt like our home away from home. Lynne, the property manager, is wonderful and greeted us upon our arrival. She had the refrigerator stocked with eggs, butter, jam, juice, milk and pastries and it was such a lovely welcome. Could not recommend this adorable flat more highly and we’re just sad that we won’t be visiting St. Andrews for a long while now that our daughter has moved back home to Boston!

Excellent spot in St Andrews

Beautiful flat in great location. Stayed for nearly a week and found it very comfortable in a great location. Just a couple of blocks from the Old Course and a very short stroll to the stores and restaurants of Market Street and South Street. Loved it.

We had a great time at the flat. Everything was great. Only complaint was the contact information for the manager was not available in the property guide as instructed. That was while using the app. Made for a bit of confusion during check in. But, all was good. Thank you.

Beautiful property in a fantastic location!!

This is such a cute flat and a fantastic location! Having lived in town we knew just where this place was but for those who haven’t, it is just about as central as possible. It’s at the end of Market Street which is the main shopping part of town, within sight of the bus station, and a short walk to both the beach and all of the historic sights. The flat itself has a lovely design in every room and is fresh and clean. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two twins that can be pushed together to make a super king. In addition the couch pulls out! The beds were all quite comfortable and the pillows were fantastic. There was a lovely selection of snacks, breakfast foods, tea and coffee provided for us which was just the extra touch to make us feel at home. Overall we had a fantastic stay but I will mention a few negatives. The floors, while lovely are incredibly squeaky. It did put a damper on a good nights sleep. Lastly I would note that the shower is a bit difficult to sep in and out of as the tub is quite high. I would recommend choosing a different location if you have limited mobility or for the owners to put in a grab bar.

Perfection!

Location combined with beautiful, comfortable and modern, efficient furnishings make this an absolute gem of a flat. The decor is so tastefully done from the antiques to the art to the modern kitchen and bath. It’s a precious, confortable, charming apartment. There really could be no finer location when visiting St Andrews.

Great location and nicely decorated

The good - great location where you can walk out your door to all the restaurants and shops on Market Street, 5 minutes walk to St Andrews, etc. The apartment has been nicely renovated and has great beds and bedding. Downside is the kitchen is tiny if you want to cook. Would recommend the owners get some new frying pans as the ones they have weren’t great (everything stuck) and updated cutlery/utensils. There’s is no washer or dryer but we dropped our laundry around corner but costs you. The TV didn’t work at all during our stay and the TV is tiny - not great for us who wanted to watch it in our downtime. We let the owners know. And overall I think the flat is lovely but a little expensive for what you get....they may have priced it because there was an event that week tho.

Fantastic Flat in Heart of St Andrews!

Roberta and Kurt and have a fantastic place in the heart of St. Andrews minutes from the Old Course. The flat has great amenities including thoughtfully provided supplies for continental breakfast! Communication was quick and insightful making the entire experience all the more seamless. Would hope to return and highly recommend!

Location Comfort Character and Charm

A last minute visit to see my daughter a PhD student at St Andrews. Could not have been more fortunate that the flat was available. She was quite happy to escape the confines of her dreary dorm and hang out with dad. Highly recommended!

HomeAway Indeed!

In a word...marvelous! This flat surpassed our expectations. The location was prime - minutes walk to everything. The decor was right out of Town & Country and made for a warm and cozy environment. It offered all the conveniences of home and everything was in good working order. Roberta and Kurt (owners) were wonderful to deal with. They provided great dinner recommendations and even made it easy to add another night to the end of our stay. Lynne (property manager) was always available to answer our questions and she even stocked a few things in the fridge for our arrival! I warn you, you won't want to leave! This accommodation in the charming town of St. Andrews created a holiday our family will never forget. Scotland is beautiful and we can't wait to return! Don't hesitate....

Great flat

The flat was ideal for a visit with my daughter at uni. We could prepare meals when we chose or walk to virtually everywhere we could want to be. Beautiful details and finishes in flat make it a cozy environment.
