Literally one mile above the Blue Ridge Parkway @ 4,000 feet, this freshly redesigned home boasts 2 King en-suites with a gourmet chef's kitchen and huge covered deck to thoroughly enjoy the spectacular views and peaceful surroundings. Everything in our home is new! Surrounded by undeveloped State forest lands, this is truly a peaceful get-away with great restaurants, unique shopping, spectacular waterfalls, tremendous hiking, horseback riding, trout fishing all nearby.

Cabin disinfected before and after each guest by our very-thorough cleaning team.

In our experience, there is nothing worse than showing up at your rental to find that it is less than what you expected and starting your vacation disappointed. We designed and furnished this home for our family and to our high standards - you will NOT be disappointed!

Tranquility certainly lived up to its name as we felt so at peace in this beautiful mountain home. Everything was excellent: the cleanliness, decor, comfort, and of course the stunning mountain views! All our needs were met as the house was well stocked. Communication with Bill was exemplary as he got back to us immediately with answers to any questions. You can tell he loves his home by the way he cares for it and also cares very much that we, his clients, are happy and well taken care of. This is a rare and priceless combination which ensures a very positive experience indeed. We hope to be back again soon. Thank you and God Bless you Bill. Our souls and hearts were peaceful and restored after some very sad and shocking news from back home. Just sitting on the porch and viewing God’s creation while praying brought us much peace and courage to move forward. I have always felt a spiritual connection to the mountains and being here certainly confirmed that connection. Surely God is in this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and had everything needed for our time there. Bill was very communicative prior to and during to make sure everything went well. Yearly visits to Western NC. First time in Spruce Pine. Definitely not the last!

The Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway!We spent Thanksgiving week at this cabin in Spruce Pine, NC, and it was absolutely perfect. The home was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully set up for relaxation — warm lighting, thoughtful touches, and everything we needed for cooking, gathering, and spending time together. The kitchen was well equipped, which made preparing Thanksgiving dinner so easy, and the living area was the perfect place to curl up by the fire after a long day.The views were stunning — peaceful mountain scenery, crisp air, and that quiet stillness you only get in the Blue Ridge. We loved sipping coffee on the porch in the mornings and taking little drives into nearby Little Switzerland and downtown Spruce Pine. It felt close to everything yet tucked away enough to feel like a true retreat.The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and truly felt like home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would happily return in any season. If you’re looking for a warm, relaxing place to unwind in the mountains, this is it. Highly recommend!

Our host was very friendly, and easy to communicate with. The house was perfect for our stay! Beautiful views and a comfortable porch to relax on. It's a complete kitchen, so you can do as much cooking as you choose. We have nothing negative to say about this home. The communications with the owner was outstanding from the minute we booked.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin was very clean and well furnished. Location was convenient for traveling to different areas of the mountains. Will definitely keep the cabin in mind for future trips. When all sections are open, proximity to the parkway is definitely a plus.

1 mile gravel road driving up a mountain at 10 - 15 mph to nice, clean, well furnished mountain home. Plan shopping ahead of time or drive 15 minutes to Walmart or longer to neighboring towns. Other local grocery stores closed, damaged from Helen. Dress for being on a mountain, it gets cold quickly. Drive to hiking trails, no hiking trail directly from rental. Start at the Spruce Pine Museum of North Carolina Minerals with 300 area mineral varieties on display. Museum also has a tourist information center informing you of a variety of attractions and nearby open trails/roads. People are very friendly and resilient, still recovering from Helen. Pick apples at 100 year old orchard and learn about Revolutionary War fighters on their way to the Battle of Kings Mountain. Visit Little Switzerland. Take your time driving 35 mph and enjoy 12 miles stretch with 200 curves and tunnels. Lots of butterflies and good restaurants. Rental requires large damage deposit or rental insurance. Be prepared for an amazing adventure.

A wonderful stay!

We had a great time at "Tranquility". Wonderful view, comfy king beds, super clean throughout, well-equipped kitchen. Every need was provided! Host was very responsive and helpful. And the area is wonderful for hikes, activities, etc.

We enjoyed the cabin, it was very clean and updated! We were short drive to Boone and Blowing Rock, which we visited while staying here. The front porch has a nice view of the mountains. Would definitely book again!

beyond tranquility

The cabin is everything it says it is and then some. It is well equipped and maintained with care. I booked it specifically because of the views from the front porch. The sunrise and sunset were beyond magnificent. Sipping coffee early in the morning with the Blue Ridge mountains sprawling in the background was exactly what we needed. The host is very responsive. I had all my questions answered within an hour or so. We will most likely book this cabin again.

Work trip

Stayed in this beautiful home as I’m working nearby at the hospital. Everything is clean and the place is fully stocked. Can’t say enough about the owner Bill. He follows up to make sure everything is great and when the power went out he cane up to cut down trees and make sure it was taken care of promptly! And the view is amazing:)
