Spiddal Cottage splendid base to tour the west

This bright and airy 2 bedroom cottage makes a wonderful base for anyone wishing to tour the West, hill walking, fishing, golfing, and horse riding as you are very centrally located.

Enjoy an evening BBQ on the small front/side lawn. There is free wifi & the cottage is pet-friendly.

Spiddal is a charming village with many excellent bars and restaurants as well as wonderful scenic walks and beaches. Surrounded by lakes and mountains this is the ideal location for touring Connemara, Galway City and the Aran Islands.

Reception/sitting room with couch and two chairs, open fireplace, large window to the front of the house, flat screen TV.

Kitchen: Fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, microwave, oven, fridge/freezer

Spiddal Cottage is happy to welcome your pet, however, we would ask that your pet not be permitted on the furniture or beds. If additional cleaning is required we may have to deduct this from your damage deposit.

Linen & towels are included in the rental rate.

Check-in time is from 5 pm onwards (If you require a later check-in time please let us know)

Check-out time is at 10 am on the day of departure.

The location of this property was ideal from quick access to Galway to the very good restaurants and pubs within a 10 min walk. The property is on the smaller size, perfect for my wife and I, but would also be ok with adding 2 children. Yvonne was fantastic! We would definitely recommend!

Compact cottage, clean and comfortable although a little dated and Patsy our host was very welcoming and helpful. You would need a car if visiting Galway as 30 mins away but well worth it as the journey very picturesque and Galway a fabulous city. Spiddal is a lovely village and the craft village well worth a visit.

Spiddal Cottage was delightful! Both rooms were spacious, the living room was lovely, the kitchen small but with all the necessary appliances. We didn't ever cook there, so I can't say anything about the pots, pans, spices, etc. The mattresses were quite firm. Bring your own entertainment if you want to watch something. The wifi worked great and we had access to the washing machine, which was very nice. Patsy was accommodating and super nice! The area was stunning, and a great place for a ferry to the Aran Islands or a drive along the Wild Atlantic Way. Highly recommend.

Excellent accueil. Personne très aimable. Ustensiles complets pour la cuisine et la pâtisserie. Four, four micro ondes, lave vaisselle, réfrigérateur, chauffage très efficace. Tout pour un excellent séjour. A recommander Nous reviendrons.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Patsy empfangen, die Angaben zum Standort waren sehr genau, das Häuschen genau wie beschrieben. Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt in Spiddal.

The cottage is lovely. More compact than the pictures show. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Would be nice to have a shower caddy so you can have easier access to your soaps and shampoo. Easy walk to the village and nice options for food. Patsy did a great job of settling us in.

Bon gite il manque un peu de indication pas de adresse de route pour le trouver heureusement qun un gentil irlandais nous a conduit. Super en tout point bon emplacement pour visiter le région. On conseillera à nos amis et on reviendra un jour...Merci à patsy

Cottage charmant , accueil de Patsy très agréable ( disponible , explications sur le logement très claires et utiles) . Nous recommandons cet hébergement ( même si la connexion wi-fi n'est pas de trés bonne qualité )

Gîte bien situé entre galway et le conemara, à 5mn à pied du centre. Le fonctionnement de la douche est spécial et la propriétaire nous demande d éteindre le chauffage pour ne pas trop dépenser.

The cottage is located close enough to Spiddal to walk and view the area. It is a lovely place to stay. Lots of room and has a wonderful set up of the necessary amenities. The owner is wonderful and helpful. If you need wifi then it can be inconvenient. It is sporadic at best.

This little cottage was lovely, so cozy. Patsy was equally a delight. She had everything I needed for a peat fire, which I loved every evening! The cottage is exceptionally clean and very comfortable. It was the perfect home base after my adventures in Connamara!

House has all you need. Clean and tidy. Slightly dated but thats part of its charm. However the beds are not very comfy. A bit tired now bit lumpy. We got over it by laying on top of the quilts. Brilliant location for exploring Galway and Connemara. Pasty is lovely and friendly. Loved our stay.

La seule critique concerne la tablette étroite, fixée au mur de la cuisine et qui n'est pas confortable pour les repas. Une petite table ronde aurait été préférable.

The cottage is well maintained and very comfortable. There is also a washer and dryer which we used. We loved staying in Spiddel which is a cute little village and is centrally located. It is not far from the Aran Islands ferry and a great jumping off point for a drive around the Connemara region.

Es befindet sich in fast idealer Lage am Rande des huebschen und lebhaften Dorfes Spiddal westlich von Galway. Die nebenan wohnende Vermieterin steht auf Anfrage mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Wenn man viel Strom verbraucht, etwa im Winter, kann es sein, dass man einen kleinen Aufpreis zahlen muss. Die Frage stellte sich uns bei herrlichem Sommerwetter aber nicht. Wir hatten auch das Glueck, unsere Mahlzeiten auf der Kiesterrasse vor der Kueche einnehmen zu koennen. Im Haus waere das fuer drei Personen nicht so einfach gewesen, stand doch in der Kueche nur ein winziger, an die Wand montierter Tisch zur Verfuegung, auf dem man gerade mal zwei Gedecke plazieren konnte. Ein groesserer Klapptisch, den man nach Gebrauch wegstellen koennte, waere da viel hilfreicher. Insgesamt war es ein gelungener Aufenthalt, wobei das sehr gute Wetter eine nicht unbetraechtliche Rolle gespielt hat.

Everything we needed for a week away. Two adults and a small dog fitted very comfortably. Ideal location, 10 minute walk to centre of Spiddal and sandy beaches. All the lovely beauty spots within an easy drive. Patsy (owner) was delightful. Would love to return.
