"We had a great stay here. Very calm area with a mini market nearby (walking distance) for anything you need like snacks or water. We rented a car which we would highly recommend doing, they have a parking lot for the hotel which is nice. The view from our room (we picked one with a sea view) was amazing. "We stayed at The Bay Hotel & Suites with two young children and unfortunately our experience fell well below expectations. We booked a Senior Suite with Garden View based on the description and photographs advertised, but the initial room was materially different and raised genuine safety concerns. The advertised bathtub did not exist, the shower area was extremely slippery and our son slipped twice on the first day. The balcony opened directly onto a busy parking area with virtually no barrier...

"The pool area was beautifully landscaped with olive trees, gorgeous flowers, plants and an abundance of rosemary. We did feel a little disappointed the pool was within the hotel rather than facing out to sea. It gave the impression the hotel could be anywhere. Visitors need to be aware of the construction work below of a new, very large hotel. Only the roofs are visible fortunately, but there is some noise if you go to the nearest small beach. "The hotel is stunning, all white with a subtle grandeur, perfectly located on the Lassi strip, conveniently positioned to bars and restaurants. The receptionist (South African not New Zealand) makes things happen, excels in her role, professional from the outset.
