Find the epitome of rustic chic at this inviting home in Black Butte Ranch, which thoughtfully combines bear skin rugs and taxidermy with such modern touches as stainless steel appliances. This two-story home is a showcase of tribal prints and deer and elk mounts, with a wood-burning fireplace to keep you cozy as you curl up with a novel in the seating nook. Settle into the leather recliner, gather around the coffee table for a round of board games, and feel the warmth of the Central Oregon sun in the enclosed solarium. Outside, the grounds are specked with towering pines, offering a platform back patio and a gas grill for entertaining.

Hedge Nettle Cabin is surrounded by Deschutes National Forest on the grounds of Black Butte Ranch, which features a spa, multiple pools, hot tubs, sports courts, and fitness facilities at the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center one mile northwest. Enjoy two 18-hole golf courses on the grounds of the resort, as well as more than 18 miles of paved walking and bicycling trails. Plan a day trip in the quaint city of Sisters, seven miles southeast, which offers family festivals, a famous rodeo, boutiques, and restaurants. Skiers can also find plenty of winter thrills at Hoodoo Ski Area 20 miles west.

Couldn’t get tv to work. No instructions on the 3 remote system. No communication with property management what so ever. They never responded to any of my messages.

A wonderful, well-appointed home; perfect for our multi-generation group. Ten minute bike ride to Glaze Meadow pool. Our small children were a bit upset by the animal trophy mounts. We enjoyed the glassed in room with lots of toys

This house was in a good, quiet location and the sunroom was a great place to spend time. However, the house is in serious need of upgrades. The pots and pans have pealing Teflon, the knives are cheap and dull, the lighting was poor for reading. Cupboards had crumbs in them. The garage door doesn't open so bikes, etc had to be brought in through the side door which on a rainy day meant going through the dirt.

Not a VRBO problem, but Vacasa rented us a home where the WiFi didn't work and despite calls to Vacasa, they were unable to fix the problem. couldn't get the access code until the day of arrival which was inconvenient. Communication with VRBO was great, but they couldn't do anything about a Vacasa listing other than give us a Vacasa phone number to call.

Came for a weekend reunion with friends. The house was very cozy. A couple things to note are that the dishwasher sticks shut and is extremely hard to open, the knives are all dull, the pans are non-stick and many are peeling. So, in general, the kitchen is dated and could use a little love. Would have appreciated some extra towels as well, but we made do with all these minor inconveniences. Wifi worked great. Another thing to note is that we weren’t sure how the weather would be and there is no air conditioning so I asked management whether there were fans in the house and they said “no,” but there are a TON of fans in the house. Just think people should know that! Overall we loved our stay, getting in and out was easy, the house was cute and the size was perfect for us.

This house was extremely disappointing. It was not clean. It was dark, and depressing. The brightest lightbulb was 25 watts. Seriously. How can you really list this home? We have so many complaints about this rental.

We absolutely loved our stay here!! The decor was amazing and right up our alley with the awesome taxidermy (we’re avid hunters!), amazing pictures on the walls, and just an overall cozy place to stay. There were four of us here and we could have easily had another 2 guests with plenty of room in the common spaces and bedrooms. We were kicking ourselves for not booking one more night! The only complaint we could possibly say is there was no split firewood. We checked in the garage, under the bench in the wood holder and outside. My husband didn’t t mind splitting since there were plenty of log rounds and we tried to leave some extra for the next guests, but if i would have came here with a group of girls that would have been less than ideal. Overall- amazing and we will definitely be back :)

House needs renovation, esp. baths and kitchen. Upstairs toilet needed maintenance twice, lights out, mildew smell from washer so strong could not use main floor bedroom, WFI and TV connection difficulties. Called in problems. Upstairs rooms good. Needs a deep cleaning

Place hadnt been cleaned in a long time. Upstairs toilet didnt work until i fixed it. There was hair in drain in upper shower and was really dirty. Too bad considering i paid about a grand for 2 nights

Property is beautiful, quiet, lots of wildlife. Great biking/walking trails. Glaze Meadow Rec center inviting with lots to offer. Sisters close but not too close. You can get a taste of civilization and then leave it behind when you return to BB. so enjoyable to sit out on the deck in the evening and enjoy the quiet surroundings, the deer, squirrels and even bats. Will definitely return to BB in the future

Many of the windows had lots of cob webs in them, kind of gross. My wife said the coffee pot had mold in it, and was disusing. There was no hand soap either in the kitchen (empty soap dispenser) and or the bathrooms. On the plus side the barbecue worked great. We have rented many times at the ranch over the last 20 plus years and this was by far the dirtiest house we have stayed in by a long shot. I don't think that a clean house is asking to much given that cleaning/ process fees are charged. We will rent through Howells or Black Butte next summer for vacation. I hope this is helpful for your next guest.

If you don't mind some uncleanliness, then this place was okay. If you do, avoid this spot. The outside decks were not cleaned off and seating was dirty. Many of the kitchen utensils required cleaning before use. There is no ice maker, nor ice cube trays. HDTV but no HD content.
