Lovely villa for relaxing and alfresco dining, garden cocktail bar,BBQ The villa is located near Porches, which is renowned for its Pottery/Local wine, and only 2km from the fishing village of Armacao de Pera with its lovely sandy beaches, a range of restaurant cafes bars, supermarket Golf and horse riding within easy reach.

The villa was beautiful. The backyard was an oasis with the two pools and the couches. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The rooms were nice and the several bathrooms made it perfect for our large group. Steve and Janie were so welcoming and friendly. They gave us great suggestions and were responsive to everything--including the stray kitten we found wandering around. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Villa and Perfect Hosts

The Villa was perfect for our 40th Anniversary family celebration. All the facilities were top quality and excellent for all ages in our group, we couldn’t fault a thing. Steve and Janie were the best hosts, they recommended a local private chef who came to the villa to cook a meal, which was well worth it and they were ready and quick to help if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend as ideal for a family holiday and can’t wait to go back.

Excellent property

Excellent property that was perfect for my family. Apart from days out, the grandchildren spent as much time as possible in the pool, they preferred it to going out for the day. The property was fully equipped and excellently kept. Our hosts were excellent.

Spacious and Spotlessly Clean

Steve and Janie were so gracious and welcoming. Had a little trouble with directions but Steve was nice enough to meet us and direct us to their amazing house. We have rented houses from VRBO in the past but I must say this was the most immaculate one yet. We were a group of 5 and all had our own bedrooms with one to spare. Outside pool area was delightful and a wonderful place for meals. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you would need to cook for a huge group. However, we felt the house was a little remote and not near the water or restaurants except one. Also washing clothes was difficult because the only time to start washing machine was from 12 - 2. But when we traveled around the Algarve during the day, we were always happy to return to this wonderful house. J.E.

From the moment of first contact the communications were top class. Steve and Janie could not have been better hosts As a family we have been having villa holidays for over 30 years and this villa was by far the best - enough rooms to fit adults, teenager and under 10's. .2 heated pools to give fun all day. A wonderful stay in the Algarve

Wonderful luxurious villa

My partner and I with our families had the most wonderful stay at this very special villa. It catered for all our needs (adults of mixed ages and a 20 month old baby) and was the ideal place to stay in preparation for our wedding in the Algarve. The pool outdoor area is fantastic, with so many options for relaxing and hanging out. Several fridges to accommodate lots of people and great kitchen space and worktops. Very comfortable bedrooms all with air conditioning. We had an incredible meal at the villa catered by Chef Roberto's team, as recommended by Steve and Janie. Steve and Janie were so helpful and responsive e.g. coming to meet me at check in and check out, providing us with an extra set of keys, offering to drive us to the big supermarket and quickly providing us with a new iron. We had the absolute best time at the villa, highly recommend, thank you!

Fantastic time

We have just returned from this villa with family of 11 aging from 70 to 4 for numerous celebrations June 10 to 17 Steve and jainie were.very helpful from booking to the day we left The villa is exactly as shown in pictures loads of space for everyone It was spotlessly clean and we even had bathroom clean and clean towels half way through the week The outside space is really good and comfortable nice pools even a waterfall in small pool It is about 50 min walk into armacao de pera which is a lovely town with nice restaurants and bars Everyone enjoyed themselves We only had one small issue that was the remote for the gate if we went out separate who had it to get back in but we worked with it Just an idea for Steve I would definitely recommend this villa

Prachtige villa, heerlijke verblijf!

Heerlijke vakantie gehad met vrienden en familie. De villa is van alle gemakken voorzien. Schoon en netjes. Alles mooi onderhouden. Prachtige en rustige omgeving. Max 10 min. rijden naar het dorpje. In het dorpje zitten meerdere supermarkten en restaurantjes. De hosts, Steve en Janie zijn super lief en attent. Toen ik de eerste dag aankwam in m’n eentje, werd ik opgevangen met een lekker drankje en Janie had wat te eten en drinken voor me in de koelkast gelegd. Ik was hier om mijn 40e verjaardag te vieren en Steve had me de tip gegeven om een kok aan huis te laten komen. Wat was dat fantastisch!! Het eten was subliem. Alles van de voorbereiding, tafel dekken tot en met de afwas werd voor ons gedaan. We hebben alleen maar genoten!! Ook het zwembad is heerlijk ruim en schoon. Verder waren de bedden fijn en het beddengoed schoon en prettig. Kortom @Steve en Janie: dank voor jullie goede zorgen. We hebben een onvergetelijke week gehad!!!

Fantastic stay

We were a group of 12. We traveled to Portugal from October 7 through 17, 2022 for golfs. We stayed in Algarve, from October 8 through 13 in this house and stayed in Lisbon from October 13 through 17. The house is in a good location for golfing in Algarve area. We had 5 rounds of golf in Algarve. The house location is great. It was close to supermarket, highway and local restaurants. It was clean. The pool was really nice even though you have to pay extra for warming up. The jacuzzi is not usable at night. There was no dining facilities, dining table/chairs inside house. The only dining facilities are right outside kitchen. But, the weather was very nice and we had almost no issue about it even though it was a little chilly at night. There is no smart tv. It would have been lot better if there was a smart tv. The owner/manager, Steve, was really helpful. He was very responsive and friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this house despite couple of minor issues.

Beautiful villa

The villa was beautifully clean and spacious. Variety of places to sit and enjoy outside. We all loved the pool. Very private but in great reach of local amenities. Steve and Janie are so friendly and went out of their way to help make our stay as carefree as possible and recommend suitable places for us to visit. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was well equipped, the outside BBQ area was lovely. A midweek bathroom refresh was an unexpected delight. We couldn’t have felt more welcome and we’re thinking of booking again next year!

McKay family - June 2022

We booked back in 2019 but due to the pandemic didn't holiday until June 2022. Steve and Janie carried over our booking from 2019 staying with the original cost. The villa was top notch and our family loved the holiday. There were 8 adults and 5 children in the group. The kids especially loved the pool. Steve and Janie organised a chef to attend for a special occasion and Steve also organised golf for the golfers among us. A great stay at a great property with great hosts.

Family Holiday 2022

Fantastic place, wonderfull hosts. Dreadfully experience from VRBO. They could not take my money despite trying to pay them about 15 times I paid the owners direct in the end. They gave us the wrong address for the property twice and if I had not got the sav nav details from the owner we would have found the place at all.

Beautiful, amazing and fabulous

I can't emphasise strongly enough how amazing our experience was renting this gorgeous villa from Steve and Janie or what marvellous, friendly and helpful hosts they are. We first booked the villa in 2019 for May 2020 for a 60th birthday celebration. Sadly, for 2 years on the trot, covid restrictions meant we couldn't make it but Steve and Janie didn't bat an eyelid and moved our booking twice to the exact same weeks each time. They greeted us warmly on our arrival, left a lovely welcome pack for us and showed us around the immaculate villa. The pictures don't really do it justice by the way. Days at the villa were peaceful, dipping in and out of the pools to cool down or sitting in one of the shady areas - there is always shade somewhere in the garden. You can hear birds singing all day long and watch them fluttering around the garden, there are beautiful jays to watch and there are peacocks somewhere nearby as well as a rooster who has no idea what time of day it is! There are plenty of supermarkets in Armação de Pêra including a Lidl and the taxi fare there and back to the villa is reasonable. Our favourite bar was Pedro's. Our favourite table was on the far right where you feel like you are sitting right on the beach. All the bars are good though. We had a great evening meal in the Palm Beach restaurant, again you feel as though you are practically on the beach. We visited nearby Carvoeiro and Silves. Ideally you could do with renting a car but the taxi service is excellent and we made use of that. We were there for the last 2 weeks in May and the beach, which is lovely, was quite quiet but it was beginning to get a lot busier by the time we left. I could go on and on about how wonderful our holiday was, how gorgeous the villa is and what special people Steve and Janie are, but you really, really do need to go there and find out for yourself.

Beautiful spacious villa

We have just returned from a wonderful 10 day stay in this beautiful Villa, perfect for a quiet relaxing family holiday. All the rooms are spacious and clean and furniture is of a very high standard. Many hours were spent around the pool where there were plenty of sun beds and chairs and in the evenings the bar was a favourite for pre dinner drinks watching the sun go down. Steve and Janie were on hand if ever we needed anything and made sure our stay was comfortable for us all. Thankyou both for a truly lovely, memorable holiday. Pam & family

Birthday Bash

Steve and Janie were on hand to assist from our arrival and throughout our stay and, despite not all of our party being able to make it due to covid issues, we had a super time at the villa. Steve confirmed our booking was safe and gave us the opportunity to move our stay however having stuck with our original dates we were all delighted with the Villa and the facilities provided.

Excellent Viila for family/friends Holiday

Wonderful Villa excellent location for a relaxing fun filled holiday. 10 adults 4 children and 1 baby. All had an outstanding time. Firstly during COVID the Algarve was an extremely safe area. Masks were being wore and very orderly queues and social distancing being followed. Next Stevie and Janie lovely lovely hosts ( so good I said it twice) . Extremely helpful, pointed us in the right directions, to buy the best local foods, meats, fish etc (so cheap)and took us to the Local chemist to arrange tests. Tests themselves No fuss it was really very easy for a large group. Stevie and Janie even joined us for a fantastic evening, Stevie cooking us an delicious Portuguese paella. Grandkids cried having to come home , says it all. We have some great memories, many around the pools and outside eating with the odd bottle of wine/ beer. I really can give Villa Cameleao the Highest recommendation. Pack that sun cream and enjoy the sunshine. Finally one huge thank you to Stevie and Janie. Kim and Dave plus the mob

The best vila experience still to happen!

This booking was originally made for two weeks in July 2020 for a family celebration and the rest is history. Covid scuppered plans and Steve and Janie the owners kindly rearranged the booking with no fuss or bother, for same time in 2021 , and guess what !! So yet again , because of the amazing forbearance , generosity , patience, understanding and overall goodwill of the owners Steve and Janie we have been afforded the same two weeks in July 2022 on terms as originally set out !! in our eyes this goes way and above contractual obligations, and simply outlines the high integrity of the owners for which we remain so grateful for ! Thank you and roll on July 2022 !!

Fint hus til den store familie

Vi var 8 voksne og 5 børn på en uges ferie i Steves og Jamie's skønne hus med to swimmingpool. Blev vel modtaget og vist rundt da vi ankom. Huset fungerede fint, sengene og de udendørs møbler kunne dog godt være af en lidt bedre kvalitet. Ikke for god sammenhæng mellem pris og kvalitet

Excellent

We have just arrived home having spent a very relaxing week away staying at this villa. Steve and Janie the owners were very friendly and approachable. They were very welcoming and greeted us like we were their friends. They were very helpful with what was in the area and places to eat and visit. The villa is very well designed with a beautifull round staircase leading from lower floor to first floor. We took some great photos of the family on the stairs. The master bedroom has it's own bathroom across from the room and a lounge area within the bedroom. All bedrooms had a lovely balcony with great views of the area. The villa is set in its own well kept gardens with lots of outside space. We spent most of the time in the outside areas when at the villa as the weather was hot and sunny, well into 30 deg. There was 11 people in our family ranging from 73yrs to 10 yrs and we all had a great time. The outside space catered for everyone's needs and we were able to sit outside to eat as a family around the large table just outside the kitchen. There is also a large BBQ near to the kitchen and eating area which we used one evening. The villa has everything you need for your stay, it is very clean and well thought out. Outside toilet and shower area near the pool, washing machine if you need one and a clothes airer. We hired cars so was able to see some of the surrounding areas, we visited the local beach which was very clean and you can hire 2 sun loungers and 1 umbrella for 12 euros for the day. There are many places to eat or shop at the beach. We ate a meal out at the beach one evening in the Clipper Restarant, if you want a special meal this is a very good restaurant. We were celebrating our sons birthday, the service and food were excellent. We all had a great holiday and would reccomend this villa for a pleasant relaxing stay in Portugal. Thank you very much to Steve and Janie for making our first visit to Portugal a very pleasant and memorable stay. Mark & Jayne Gearing.
