Welcome to Appalachian Songbird, a privately owned & managed log cabin in Sevierville, Tennessee, in the foothills of Tennessee's Smoky Mountains. As owners of this charming & cozy two-story log cabin, we greatly appreciate the 11 to 13 million visitors who share in our beloved Smoky Mountains region. We want to do our part to make your visit here delightful and memorable by providing you with great lodging!

We personally know what a joy it is to arrive at one's vacation destination to find that our booked lodging is attractive, comfortable, reasonably priced, well-located and meticulously clean and well-cared for. We believe that you will find all of this when you arrive at Appalachian Songbird! Our goal is to have guests who choose to return to our cabin every year.

Appalachian Songbird has a main floor guest suite with king-sized bed and adjoining bathroom with tub/shower combo, and separate access to the back screened-in porch. The second floor guest suite is accessed by a unique winding staircase. It also has a king-sized bed and adjoining bathroom with jetted tub. Both bedrooms are equipped with XFinity Cable.

In the combo den/kitchen area there is an additional TV. Adjacent to this area there is a door that goes out onto the large screened in back deck area. You may rock away the hours reading, drinking a cup of coffee in the early morning & enjoy listening to the birds sing! There’s also a picnic table on the deck.

Appalachian Songbird is located in Echota, a log cabin resort with entry from Winfield Dunn Parkway (a.k.a. Smoky Mountains Parkway and State Highway 66), the primary thoroughfare for visitors arriving via Interstate 40. Echota is located about 1/4-mile and on the opposite side of the Parkway from the impressive Sevierville Events Center. It is a also about two miles north of Sevierville's central business district and three miles from Pigeon Forge.

David Gothard and Kathy Gothard are the owners/landlords of Appalachian Songbird, a short-term vacation rental cabin located in Sevierville, TN. David is an active Tennessee-licensed real estate broker. As a licensee, David is required and hereby does disclose that he has personal interest in renting this cabin. As a prospective renter of Appalachian Songbird, you acknowledge and agree that by making a rental reservation and/or signing the rental agreement provided, you are providing written consent to David's continued involvement in the rental transaction.

We completely enjoyed our stay in this cute and cozy cabin. I loved the fireplace, the whirlpool tub and the screened in back porch. The cabin was clean, everything worked, and the pillows were extremely comfortable. I'd stay in this cabin again.

Great cabin! Very clean, cozy. Although other cabins close it was peaceful and quiet. The location was great for the convention center. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to others whom I know are traveling to the area.

Peaceful Stay!

The cabin is part of a community. It is quiet & easily found. The overall impression of the cabin is that it was well-maintained & had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy & the screened-in back porch was icing on the cake. I will recommend this cabin to anyone I know that is coming to the area. When we come back, I will keep my fingers crossed that this cabin is avaliable.

Our 1st Xmas Vacay

It was amazing!!! The view is awesome!!! Cabin cozy and close to stores and Downtown Gatlinburg!!! The only thing was the trash bins wasn't dumped prior to visit! A bag was in each bin. However, will be back soon.

Peaceful Retreat

The cabin is located up in the forest off of Highway 66 and near the convention center. It was a peaceful oasis after a busy day at the convention center. At the end of the day we would sit in the screened in porch and relax away from the hustle and bustle. It’s also a great place to stay if you are heading to Pigion Forge for the day. Truly enjoyed the stay.

Appalachan Songbird Cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Appalachan Singbird. Lovely little 2bedroom 2bath Cabin with lots of screened outside room with rocking chairs and picnic table. Cozy and comfy. Close to everything but still out of the way. Loved it and plan on returning soon.

Very clean. Everything you need is in the cabin. No problems whatsoever. Very quiet, but close to other cabins and all restaurants and entertainment. Will stay again for sure!

Quick Sevierville Trip

We had a last minute family get together in the area and I needed a home that was wheelchair accessible. This unit proved ideal for us. They have everything needed for meal preparation and a great porch. Be aware that the upstairs room can be a little warmer than the rest of the house, but they provide fans to help.

Wonderful Experience

My dad arrived first. He was very impressed. When my husband and I arrived we felt very relaxed immediately. Beautiful location, screened porch to sit and enjoy no mosquitoes. Close to town, yet felt woodsy. Comfortable furniture and bed. Very enjoyable stay! Kathy and David are very responsive and concerned hosts. We will be back!!

Perfect location and Clean

Was there to watch a collegiate golf tourney at Sevierville Golf Club. Couldn't be a better spot for that. Place was easy to get to well appointed and clean. Only downside when we were there is they didn't have premium cable so no ESPN, CNN, or Golf Channel.

A sweet repose away from home

This was our second time to stay at Mrs. Kathy’s cabin. I simply cannot express how helpful and kind she was with any request or issue we had. The cabin is ideal for two couples. We took my elderly parents and they loved the fact that we didn’t have to drive any crazy roads to get there. We all particularly enjoyed the fire place on this trip because it was a bit chilly outdoors. If you are a flea market fan like we are, the location absolutely could not be any better. The cabin was clean and comfy with all the amenities that a place needs for it to be a home away from home. We will be back as soon as we have another break in life. ❤️

Perfect Getaway

If you’re looking for the perfect getaway this is it. This cabin is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of “the strip” so you can check out for a while, yet it’s close enough to go see your favorite show or do some souvenir shopping. Kathy was extremely attentive to our needs. She even checked in on us to make sure everything was okay when we hadn’t checked in at the expected time. This cabin has EVERYTHING you need.

Cozy, convenient

Loved the Location convenience but still isolated. Kathy was THE BEST HOST! She was so hopeful and was always a phone call or text away when we needed her. Cabin was clean & had all the amenities. Definitely recommend! Price was very reasonable, would rent again.
