We booked this place to escape the Texas heat of August, and it was fantastic! It is so convenient to walk to the beach and to great places to eat. The drive to see things in Los Angeles is also convenient. The place is very clean and comfortable and very pleasant for longer stays.

Great place on the beach

Absolutely loved it here!! Great neighborhood and literally steps from the beach. Our dogs loved playing in the sand and looking out on the balconies on all levels. Photos are accurate in representing the property. The owner was very accommodating and Whitney was awesome! Spent a lot of time out on the balconies enjoying the views. Would highly recommend it. The only con was not staying longer.

Great Location

Perfect location for a monthlong stay. Washer and dryer was great to have. Gated community made us feel very safe even during our evening walks. Several places to eat within walking distance. Sunset Pizza and Pasta was our favorite but we were not disappointed with any of the restaurants. Short walk to sunset beach and short drive to all the great beaches. The property manager, Whitney, was great. Answered all of our questions and very helpful if needed. The place could use some updating, and a little TLC, but overall we had a great experience.

Pleasant Place, Managed / Owned by Pleasant People

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay @ Surfside. We walked every morning inside the safe confines of the gated community. The accommodations are as pictured, we loved the views and ocean breeze! Will absolutely stay there again, we’re already looking forward to it.

A perfect getaway!

This property is beautiful! Right at the beach. This place is so much better than you could imagine. The pictures can’t really give you the feel of this unique property. I would recommend this vacation rental above all others! We fell in love with this place and hope to visit again!

Our little piece of heaven

Surfside is an eclectic little community between Long Beach and Huntington Beach. The property was clearly created with care and consideration. Quality furniture and bed, amazing layout for viewing the ocean from the decks. Perfect for my wife and I for the multiple month stay. Beach every morning and the rest of California to enjoy the remainder of the day. We worked remotely, internet was great and reliable. Garage parking is great, plenty of guest parking within walking distance. The rooftop hot tub was clean and reliable and sunsets everyday were delightful. When the inevitable little issue would come up, Whitney, the onsite property manager was there and ultra responsive for ALL our needs. A life long California resident she provided great local information as well. We're looking forward to wintering there in the near future. Rent it you'll love it,

If you don’t like or have pets, skip this rental

We were so excited about staying close to the ocean in Southern California. When we opened the door, the dog smell was similar to a vet’s office, and my husband is allergic to pet dander. We had the unfortunate bad luck of following people who had two dogs there for four months and left the place full of dog hair. The floors were marginally clean, I found men’s underwear under the bed, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned and I ended up washing all of the linens and towels just to ensure they were clean. So much for paying for cleaning. I do know the property manager- who was very nice and as helpful as she could be, was hiring a new crew to clean after our departure but even after all of my cleaning/vacuuming the animal smell isn’t going away. The location is in what my daughter called the “dead zone” of PCH, surrounded by out-of-business restaurants and a military installation. Pluses include a walking promenade and bird sanctuary about two miles down the beach, between Surfside and Huntington Beach. Seal beach is north and charming little town but not accessible by foot (no sidewalk on busy PCH). We never used the hot tub so I can’t speak to how clean it was. We rent every winter for four months in Hawaii and we’ve never had an experience like this. I wish previous renters had warned us. And there are lots of steps—living/kitchen on second floor, bedroom on third.

Paradise!

Love this home! Location is perfect, beach is amazing! Vicki and Whitney were wonderful and so helpful! It does have a lot of stairs, but that was not a problem, got my stairs everyday! Would definitely love to stay here again!

Vicki's Surfside rental is awesome! Awesome location by the water, beautiful unit, and great host communication and hospitality. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to another chance at booking again!

Peace On the Beach

The roof top was the place to be. Views of kite sails, seagulls, beach and ocean. Surfside is a gated community on the north end of Sunset Beach. It has fewer people which makes it better than many other beaches. Lots of restaurants around and close to Seal Beach town. There are many steps,but worth the climb all the way to the roof for sunning, views to everwhere, and just resting in the sun. Traffic noise on the first level from PCH is lessened by sound proof windows. We were two women friends and brought a good blow up bed to get two beds in the bedroom. We absolutely loved the place and location.

Great Beach retreat

Vicki's place at Surfside was a total win for me. The location, accomodations, good connectivity and unbeatable views of the water made my stay a memorable one.
