Step outside in the morning to the private veranda to enjoy your coffee before starting your day. This parlor has a bathroom that will make you feel as if you have entered a spa.

Steps from everything you are looking for in the downtown area! Located on famous Historic Jones Street, you can walk anywhere in the city with ease. Don't feel like walking? You can enjoy a free Downtowner or call a pedi-cab for a stroll around the city.

Off street parking is included in this rental for your convenience.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. In 1964, a boy chasing pigeons on the roof fell over the edge and impaled himself on the iron fence below.

The location was wonderful - and on a beautiful street - so close to Forsyth Park and other notable buildings. My issue (why I didn't give you a five-star rating) had to do with the cleanliness of the property (dirty socks in bedroom from a previous guest, dirty pot holders, absolutely NO Kleenex anywhere in the unit, a furnace that would not go above 63 degrees when it got cold at night, no cable TV - forcing us to stream our own or sign up for other streaming devices (really!!!). It's the smaller 'things' that turned into big 'things'. My husband was so cold two evenings he wanted us to leave and find a hotel. After what I paid for this, I told him he had to add some blankets when he was sitting in the chair. Yikes! Granted, Savannah did have a cold spell and it's an old building, however you've got to prepare for this for your guests. Note: I am a retired travel agency co-owner - have traveled and inspected properties for decades, so I'm not just someone 'off the farm'. My comments have validity and I suggest you take them to heart. Thank you.

This apartment is just gorgeous, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s elegant and comfortable at the same time, with so many amenities. The veranda overlooking West Jones St. is such a wonderful part of the home. We would go back in a second.

When we arrived at the property, the parking space assigned was occupied. We could not get in touch with the host. We never did hear from the host. We parked in a space that we feared would get us towed until the assigned spot was available later in the evening. It was cold. The furnace could not keep up with the cold. The space heaters did not work well either. We did not take showers during our stay because it was just too cold. Luckily it was a brief stay. The property is under construction so it had the feel of being in transition. Other than WiFi and location, there was nothing very appealing about this property's condition and communication with the host was just not really available with minimally accurate access instructions. Would not choose to stay at this property again. Definitely not luxury.

This is a gorgeous property in a fantastic area. We truly loved everything about it. The communication and check-in/check-out process was easy and clear. It got a little toasty in the common area at times, but the fans really made it comfortable. Would stay here again for any future visits!

Lovely historic home

Our accommodations were ideally located in the historic district close to the action without being in the middle of the action! It truly felt like a home away from home, just be aware there is a flight of stairs for the parlor. this portion of the home(parlor)

Enjoying our Savannah stay!

We are history fanatics and Savannah has been on our list for a long time. Enjoyed every minute but the very cold temps especially at night were a surprise (and we are from Michigan!!). We would like to return some day God willing!
