"I have rarely left a poor review, but this is advertised as a “Bed and Breakfast”, however, the breakfast is not provided, unless you pay €20 EACH!
The property is in a prime spot right by Hallstatter Lake, but the rooms are very dated. We had no amenities in our room, besides hand soap. There was no hot pot for tea, and the towel holder was wet with rust; the towel in turn became soiled on contact.
Then there was the parking fee, which we were aware of needing to be paid, BUT… the host and the...

"Die Hotelgarage ist so eng, dass größere Autos nicht einparken können. Wir wollten um 23:05 einen Drink an der Hotelbar, die bis 24 geöffnet hat, bestellen und wurden abgewiesen.
Sehr schön ist der Pool im Dachgeschoss. Die Zimmer sind schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Glastüre zur Toilette ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig."

"If you’re looking for affordable accommodation close to Hallstatt without paying Hallstatt prices, JUFA Hotel Altaussee is a reasonable choice, particularly for families with children. The location is excellent, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the hotel offers good family-friendly facilities. (JUFA Hotels)
That said, manage your expectations. The rooms are clean but very basic, and on the small side. They are perfectly adequate for a short stay but lack the comfort and character you...

"Our train was delayed and we were transferred to a bus which was late in arriving but Bhadar , the gentleman who met us was very accommodating. He helped with bringing our luggage upstairs and gave us a welcoming bottle of wine. There are not many early morning breakfast options. Our room was clean and comfortable although the bathroom window is funky and requires going outside to close it for privacy. The ferry ride back to the train station is scenic but be prepared for a long trek up the...

"My wife was taking a shower in the morning and then just about she is done she noticed that the water is brown. I went to the front desk to report the issue, but I was surprised that they already know that there is an issue and that the main line somehow got crossed with a dirty water line but unfortunately they didn’t inform the rooms. I would imagine in a situation like that they should inform all guests not to use the water and especially we were using the tap water fir drinking as well.
I...

"We stayed one night to visit Halstatt. The lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and functional. Delicious breakfast. We had a car and the free parking was a two minute walk. There’s a pizzeria next door for dining options. The beds were comfortable and the AC was a great bonus. Thank you"

"I will start this review by saying I do not fault the guest assistant who came by with any of the issues that I had with the property. This property is amazing, the room is very spacious as is the bathroom and is beautiful, the view is worth staying here alone. The issue we had was upon check-in when we were trying to pay the city tax. We attempted to pay the city tax a few times when we checked in and then the person trying to collect the tax came back about four times and four hours, which was...

"The check-in was about 8km away (which was in town and the house was out of town). When we got to the location it was not marked and we only knew it from the picture on the reservation. There was no one there which we knew but there was nothing there telling you the internet password- luckily, we saw someone else who told us. We sent 4 messages to the host and it took over 24 hours for a response. The room was large and clean except for all the bugs & flys (at checkout they simply said it was...
