From the early 1990s, renowned Seaside architect Richard Gibbs’ two-bedroom Charleston-style cottage has been a beloved retreat, attracting repeat guests with its serene location on Forest Street. The cottage showcases a distinctive deep porch, or “dogtrot” design, with a spacious, full-length screened breezeway that connects the two private downstairs bedrooms to the kitchen, dining, and living areas upstairs. In February 2023, the cottage underwent a full renovation, including a new air conditioning system, ceiling fans throughout, and updated laundry appliances.

The street-facing entry opens to a screened porch that leads directly to two mirrored bedrooms, each featuring a platform queen bed, new storage drawers, dimmable indirect uplighting, a large shuttered window, and a smart TV. Each bedroom has a private ensuite bath with a walk-in shower featuring a frameless glass door and rain shower head, a new marble vanity, a backlit vanity mirror, and heated floors. An outdoor shower is conveniently located off the entry-level porch.

Up an easy staircase, the second floor offers an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space, as well as a full-length screened porch and Juliette balcony overlooking the peaceful Forest Street park. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with premium stainless-steel appliances, including a Wolf oven and gas cooktop, Sub-Zero fridge/freezer, and Asko dishwasher. A spacious new pantry and separate broom closet provide added convenience, while the newly renovated dining area features a trestle table, benches, and chairs. Above the dining table, a striking chandelier hangs from the soaring 13-foot ceiling. The living area, which seamlessly flows into the dining space, is furnished with a comfortable new sofa, swivel chairs, and a 50" Frame TV. A newly wallpapered powder room is located nearby. The upper screened porch is perfect for morning coffee, featuring a table and chairs as well as a classic bench with an upholstered cushion.

The backyard features a timber deck with a gas barbecue, outdoor dining table, and picket fencing, creating a perfect spot for relaxing after a day at the beach. Seaside’s shops and dining are just steps away, offering the best of coastal living.

Little Lodge is also pet-friendly, welcoming your four-legged family members. Whether your furry friend is a small companion or a larger breed, they’ll feel right at home here. Seaside’s village amenities, including the grocery store, post office, and bookstore, offer water bowls and tie-downs for visiting pets. A pet cleaning supplement will be included in your booking fee.

* 5 night minimum Summer; 3 night minimum Fall, Spring, & Spring Break; 2 night minimum Winter. Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign registration. No children ages 13 -19 during Spring Break season.

* Pets are allowed with certain restrictions and provisions. An additional $50 a day rental pet fee will be collected in addition to the flat $125 pet fee for two-bedroom homes. No pet over 50 lbs.

Spring Break 2025

This was a fun cottage to stay in for our trip. The screened porch is amazing and I was able to sit on the porch and listen to the Sunday services at the Chapel. The location is fantastic and we were able to walk to the square every day. We will definitely see y'all next year!

A Location Dream

We were greeted when we arrived and given a tour of the cottage. We loved the layout, with the bedrooms downstairs. We have a senior dog and we could limit the times she had to do the stairs. We walked to everything. Restaurants, shopping, the beach etc. The cottage was clean and had everything we could want or need. Great communication with host. Would highly recommend and definitely go again.

Great Management

The Homeowners Collection is awesome. When we arrived, there was an adorable beach tote and welcome kit waiting for us, and during our stay, they even hosted a cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres and live music. You usually don’t get this sort of care and attention from a property management company. Our cottage was also clean and updated with everything we needed.

Seaside vacation

Location was great and it was a fun place for teens. Expensive resort and the $500+ VBRO booking fee was not expected. Overall a great experience but too expensive a vacation for us to return.

Nice location

The house was pet friendly which we wanted and was located near the seaside restaurants, shops, etc. The setup of the house was a little more difficult with the kitchen /living area upstairs and having an infant to carry up the stairs multiple times a day was tough. The TVs were fine and the bathrooms were nice. The house description said it could sleep 6 ..so glad we only had 4 adults. I think it would have been a crowd if we’d had 6 adults. Oversell we had a nice long weekend.

Dirt and Stains on Bedding

I don't think the cleaners washed ALL the bedding. There was dirt and other stains on the bedding and pillow shams. I didn't like that! We had to wash everything prior to sleeping.

Great location

This is a very nice, clean property with unique architectural touches. My kids loved the location! So close to all of the activities! Please note this property has access to seaside pools - NOT WATERCOLOR. Thank goodness (my mistake) we had friends with extra wristbands to get into that pool. The bikes are a voucher provided to go rent yourself- the bikes do not stay at the property. Also so grateful to bring my fur baby- please not the yard is not enclosed. Overall very nice property. Also note the two bedrooms are downstairs and the kitchen / living area with pullout couch are upstairs. This was fine for our family, but just want others to know if they are traveling with younger kids the stairs may be and issue. Thank you so much, we loved staying here.

Fall Stay in Seaside

We come to Seaside or another sleepy beach town on 30A every Fall. Lately we’ve been coming for 2 weeks and attempt to avoid the Fall Breakers. This year we had one crowded week and one quiet week. We love Seaside and always seem to find a pet friendly house to rent. My only complaint it seems every year is the not enough space. Professional photographers know the right angles and lighting to make rooms look spacious. Just be prepared the pictures are not always what you experience once you get there. This year Little Lodge was our house. The neighbors and neighborhood was great. Very good location and the property manager was very accommodating. It’s was way too small for me and my wife, 2 dogs, our 3 kids and grandson. That’s on me, no blame to the property owner or property Mgr. I’ll need to do better on research for a party that size. We look forward to coming again next Fall for our annual trip. We love Seaside on 30A.

Beautiful Property, Perfect for One or Two Couples

We absolutely loved this little cottage. A quick walk to everywhere in Seaside, it is the perfect place for a pair of couples or a family to enjoy this beachside community. The screen porch and sun roof are particularly special.

Wonderful location and great space

This Little Lodge is charming and a perfect home base for an idyllic week in Seaside. The space is functional and location perfect. They had two beach chairs, an umbrella, and sand toys. Great vacation - we will be back.
