The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was the perfect size for me and my partner and would be a great place for any couple. The air conditioning worked well and the fan upstairs helped to keep the bedroom cool.Sophie is such a lovely host. She provided us with everything we needed to best enjoy the island and had tons of recommendations for excursions. She was very friendly and made every effort to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. She even surprised us with balloons and rum on my partner's birthday which was a great personal touch. The only thing we didn't like is that the pool isn't as private as we thought, since it is on the host's property in their backyard. Other than that, everything was as described.We loved our time in Aruba and would stay here again!

This sweet chalet was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing and Sophie was an incredible, helpful and very kind host! The chalet is two lovely floors with a living room, shower and bathroom and outdoor kitchen area on the bottom and a bedroom loft! We really loved the lofted bed and getting to hangout and cook and have coffee in the partially outdoor kitchen! The yard is open and spacious and the pool was wonderful! The whole space was clean and breezy and so calming and welcoming! Sophie was happy to answer all of our questions and help with anything we needed. She was very easy to get in touch with at all time and she was just so kind and lovely to chat with and to get to stay with! We are so grateful that we ended up choosing this place and staying with her! The chalet is located very close to Arikok National park, about a 20 minute walk so it was perfect to get to visit there right from home! My partner and I had a beautiful time here and loved the peace and beauty of this space! We would absolutely recommend it and thank you Sophie again for such a great week in Aruba!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was spotless clean, Sophie was incredibly nice, accommodating and really went out of her way to make certain that we enjoyed ourselves. She even provided us with a cooler and chairs for the beach. It's surprising how many hosts don't think of the little extras like that, but it's what makes the difference between a good and a great stay. She offered suggestions on things to do and see as well as where to catch a great experience for Carnival. The home was in a really safe location and in a newer neighborhood. The only negative thing about the whole stay was the outdoor kitchen. In 21 years of visiting Aruba, we've never encountered an issue with mosquitos. They were really bad in the outdoor kitchen here; it really needs to be screened in or a strong fan added. Mosquitos are weak flyers and are also attracted to human scent and CO2 emissions. A good fan overpowers their ability to fly and disperses human CO2 emissions and helps to eliminate mosquitos. Sophie provided sprays, incense and everything imaginable for us to combat them, but they were still pretty bad. We don't like to eat out much and prefer to cook most of our own meals, so this was a challenge for us. Aside from the mosquitos, it was the perfect place to stay and we would certainly return again.

The stay was loveley and exactly what we were looking for. Great hosts and a quiet area in aruba which js a rare find. A couple notes for people looking to stay here. If you cant stand bugs (outside) this is not your place. The kitchen is outside and sofie does include repelent for bugs and it does work but they are fierce. The pool does have hours from 9-6, just keep that in mind if you like to swim at night. If you have trouble with stairs, the loft will be a challenge. There are very few street signs and google isnt great for getting you there. Once you find it, it isnt a issue but we did get turned around a few times. Bottom line- we would have zero issue booking and staying at this property in the future.

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Sophie. Ze had ook veel tips voor restaurants en uitstapjes. De kamer was schoon en we hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad. Minpuntje is wel het bed, waar je moeilijk in en uit kunt stappen door het schuine plafond.

Sweet Chalet in Paradise Indeed!

Overall, this place was perfect for us! It's like the poolhouse off of the main house, it has a loft with a king bed and a pull out on the bottom floor. We ended up camping out on the pull out because it does get a little stuffy upstairs, but Sophie said she would rectify that. She also supplies a fan up there. There is only one television in there, on the bottom floor. She supplied towels and toilet paper, but after you run out you get your own (Sophie looked out for us though). She also booked our activities for us, giving us detailed directions on where to go and suggesting things for us. The kitchenette is outside, come prepared with more than bug spray (the mosquitoes tore my legs up, we use vicks vapor rub on our faces to keep the little gnats away) although Sophie does also supply that as well. The pool is usable from 9a to 7p (it is directly behind the main house). They let us alone during our usage. Our only quelms were out of Sophie's control, the bugs lol so annoying when trying to cook!! But the fridge outside kept our food extra cold, and Sophie has a cooler for you to get ice. The power goes out on the island sometime but we didn't feel it because Sophie has a generator! We will definitely be back!

It was a good place to stay, but not great.

Host was very pleasant. She showed us how to lock the door and unlock the door. As previously stated in a review it’s a tricky door lock, but once you understand how to use it, it’s easy. Was a little disappointed with the pool. It was listed as a “private” pool. It was on the main property which is overlooked by the hosts main house. Not a terrible issue, except the pool was cloudy and murky. Host stated it was due to the rain that overcame the island the previous week, but still didn’t feel comfortable using it. Also, for a weeks time, we had 1 roll of toilet tissue, which was odd, but we bought some at the local store. Overall it was good, but could have been better.

Sophie was great! She was very welcoming and helpful with places to eat and things to do. The property was just as described. Located in a nice neighborhood. The pool was a nice escape from the crowded beaches.

STAY AWAY! RUN! This has been one of the worst vacation weeks I have booked for the amount of money we have paid. This is a 1 star or a 2 star property at best, over priced on Expedia or VRBO. Here’s a summary. 1) Safety concerns due to front door not locking properly, although host has explained how to lock/unlock, we still found the process to be quite problematic, causing us to have the door open while we slept. 2) false advertising, pictures did not match the property once we arrived. Outdoor kitchen was shown to deceptively look like an indoors kitchen in the pictures, which comes with endless bugs, mosquitos and noise. Additionally, in the pictures there was a washer and dryer, that also was not shown in any of the pictures. 3) health concerns - scorpions in furniture and beach chairs, which I had to kill on the beach before sitting down. If I didn’t, I would have gotten poisoned. 4) lack of amenities - lack of toilet paper, and basic spices. I had to buy everything myself. 5) cleanliness - we cleaned everything we used in the outdoor kitchen, plates were dirty, coffee machine was soooo filthy, cups were dusty. This was so bad, you as a guest would expect at the very least to have clean things in the kitchen to make a meal of a simple cup of coffee in the morning. You can tell that this host simply doesn’t care about this property, it barely meets basic standards to be listed. Expedia lost my trust and future business. We’re done with this platform.

Wonderful vacation

Sophie was amazing at keeping in touch and even making sure we knew about necessary forms for customs entry and had good directions to get to the house. She gave us recommendations on restaurants and local beach spots. More importantly, she gave us ideas of places not worth visiting or better alternatives. We sat at the pool a few evenings and just chatted and felt so comfortable here. Very much enjoyed our 2 weeks in San Fuego.

The perfect rental for Aruba

We loved Sophie’s rental! Great privacy and comfort. We used the pool every day. The king bed was very comfy and the air conditioning and fans kept us cool. We made good use of the kitchen - frying eggs or sausage for breakfast. Very nice shower room. It was nice having the private entrance to the property. The house is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend this Sweet Chalet in Paradise!!

Peace and Solitude in Aruba

What a fantastic spot. Away from the main tourist area, this little oasis is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The hosts provide all that you need to enjoy quiet days by the pool and relaxing times in the outdoor living and dining area. If you rent a car it is an ideal location to explore all the wonders of the island while still being able to escape it all.

Happy Aruba Visit

Sophie and her husband are a great Host and Hostess. They are very kind and welcoming. The rental is a cozy addition to their own house in a private high end neighborhood. They have a wonderful backyard and pool. It is very quiet. We had a wonderful stay! We wished that we could have stayed longer!

Lovely!

The property and the hosts were lovely! The space was new and clean and felt very private. There's a beautiful large pool for you to use. The host was available and helpful with any questions we had. The neighborhood is beautiful, but a bit far from the action. Renting a car/jeep is recommended. Perfect place for a couple. Loved it. Thank you.
