Remodeled clean quiet Family Retreat w/AC & Fire-Pit - Long or Short Term Stays

A lovely quiet super-clean furnished 3bd/2ba home suitable for "Long & Short Term Stays" on a private .23 acre cul-de-sac lot within a 5 minute drive to UCSB, beaches, shops, theaters and the SB Airport. It's an 8 minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara and the Harbor. We are 1 block from the bicycle path leading to beaches and UCSB.

Gourmet kitchen with large extra eating area has granite counter-tops, marble floors and Thermidor gas stove. Main bathroom has soaker tub/shower and ensuite bath has large tiled shower, recirculating hot water and heated floors. Home has central air conditioning, gas fireplace in living room and gas fire pit in backyard to enjoy the dark starry evenings.
Kitchen has a RO (reverse osmosis) drinking water filtration system, filtered ice maker, a Keurig coffee & latte maker (20+ pods supplied), drip coffee, French Press and all the appliances, dishes, pots, pans and utensils you will need to create your at-home meals.
A natural gas BBQ is ready to enhance your culinary skills. Also included is high speed internet. Just bring your toothbrush as everything you need is available.
Access to the house includes living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is an additional locked room with the cleaners supplies, towels, sheets, bedding, etc & owner's personal belongings that will not be available. There is shared access to the adjacent laundry room with washer and dryer just outside the locked back door.
The home is on a 1/4 acre pie-shaped lot and you are welcome to use the fenced backyard with patio table/chairs and fire-pit. My wife and I stay in an ADU cottage on the back corner of the property when we are not visiting grand children so we are available to assist with any needs. This is a quiet family-oriented neighborhood so no groups, parties or drugs. No smoking in the house or on the property.
Please be advised that the comfort and privacy of you (our guests) are of the utmost importance.

HOUSE RULES

Backyard quiet time is 9pm to 8am. We are a quiet family neighborhood.
No groups or parties.
No smoking in the house or on the property.
No non-prescription drugs.
Maximum number of overnight guests is 6 plus added infants <2 yrs.
Maximum number of additional visitors (not overnight) is 6 people.
Parking available for 1 car on the driveway plus added non-restricted street parking.
1 or 2 dogs are welcome if house broken and not left alone or unsupervised. Please pick-up after your pet.

Great neighborhood

This is a very comfortable house with many sitting areas, perfect for hosting friends and family. It is in a great neighborhood. The owners live on the property in the backyard, but they keep to themselves. It is very close to UCSB, which is a great advantage for visiting students.

Perfect for our needs

The home was perfect for our stay. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, etc. communication with hosts was stellar. We loved the living room. I hope we can all stay here again in future years.

Great stay with family!

Rick and Lynne were excellent hosts. They were very friendly, clear in their communicated, and eager to help. I traveled with my wife, her parents, and our two children (ages 5 and 20 months). The house worked great for a family trip. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Rick and Lynne were very thoughtful in providing lots of fun things for the kids (toys, books, beach toys and towels, etc.). We would be happy to stay here again in the future!

Great Family Friendly Stay

We have 2 under 2...so we were looking for a family friendly spot to stay with our family. This place was perfect! We appreciated the children's books, toys, and crib! The location is close to all the destinations we wanted to go to, but was in a quiet neighborhood that was appropriate for our kiddos. Rick was really communicative and thorough with instructions and helpful tips!

Amazing retreat in Santa Barbara

Great stay at Rick's! The house was very clean and comfortable. Rick was very helpful and communicative. The living room was big and had a lot couch space for relaxing. My favorite part was the fire pit, it was so nice to spend an evening talking out by it

Family Road Trip

We loved staying in this wonderful home. It was welcoming, clean, and comfortable. The location was great for getting out and exploring the beaches and community. Rick and Lynne were in residence in the separate cottage on the property while we were there. We crossed paths outside a couple of times. They are so friendly, ready to answer touristy questions, while also being completely considerate of their guests' privacy. If you are considering staying here, everyone in our party highly recommends it.

Lovely house in a great location

Hosts were very friendly. Although they were located in a separate building on the property they definitely gave us our space. The house is just lovely and has a very well equipped kitchen. This was a perfect location for us as we were visiting family in Goleta.

Thank you to the gracious hosts for making us feel like a home away from home. The house was fully stocked, impeccably clean and spacious. Highly recommend for families!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Rick and Lynne’s home. With two young kids, it was important for us to find a kid friendly house and their place had everything you need and more to offer. It was truly home away from home kind of experience. Furthermore, Rick and Lynne even went above and beyond to help us by driving down some of our stuff that wouldn’t fit in our rental car to our next hotel location.

Great hosts, great house, great location

This was our second time staying at the property for some of us. The house is well furnished both for small children and for our group of five 55+ siblings and a spouse. Wonderful Beach House

This is our second time staying here. We loved our first stay, even more our second, and we are confident we will be back. This house is fully equipped and is great for a solo trip, couples but even better for a family. The house is comfortable, has AC, great amenities, toys and books for kids, beach towels, tv… The house is in a quiet location, and even though the hosts live at backyard cottage, it felt very private. We personally love saying hi to them. They are knowledgeable, kind and always available. The backyard is spacious and has a lovely fireplace. We enjoy grabbing a sip of wine at the end of the day and making s’mores with our daughter.

Wonderful stay in Santa Barbara

This house is a gem for a great visit to Santa Barbara or Goleta. Very nice living space for a dinner party - we were very comfortable with a group of six. The bedrooms are just as described and beds are comfortable. House was very clean and appliances are excellent. We did not meet the hosts but they were most helpful with a couple of questions and responded quickly. We had a great time and had no complaints. Thank you, Rick and Lynn for helping us have a fun San Marcos reunion!

Book this rental immediately!

I can't use enough adjectives to describe how wonderful it was to stay at Rick and Lynne's place. We were a party of 6, with two small children. The home is supremely well-equipped, immaculately clean, and simultaneously a children's delight and child-proof. It's welcoming and homey, decorated in bright colors with interesting touches and yet totally comfortable. Even better, the spirit of the home invites relaxation and joy. We were in Santa Barbara for our son's wedding, which meant there were a lot of activities on the weekend. The home made it possible for us to be on the go and then come back to a cocoon of rest and beauty. I don't think we would have had such a magical weekend without this respite. You'll be just as satisfied as we were! It will be our Santa Barbara go-to from now on.

Very sweet hosts

Great at communication. Emailed everything we possibly need to know and expect from the stay to the check-in and making sure that our stay is comfortable with our 14 months old baby! Provided us with toys. Our baby didn't really play with them but enjoyed the children's books also available for use. Even provided us with a pack and play without us asking for one. The property is a little small drive to State street but we were also going to Solvang so the property worked out for us. We would definitely recommend you staying here with family and friends.

The accommodations, location and hosts were superb!

This home was the perfect place to "land" following our late night arrival at the Santa Barbara airport. We were a family group of 3 adults in town to spend time with our aunt and cousins and to enjoy a 6-day break from East Coast winter weather. We used the third bedroom to host California out-of-town friends including one traveling with her small dog. Our hosts, Rick and Lynne, were very helpful both before and during our visit as well as generous with oranges, lemons and passion fruit from their garden! The location is residential and quiet, yet very convenient to the beach, shopping, restaurants and the airport. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Excellent Property

The house is great with comfortable rooms and supportive neighbors. While local restaurant dining was curtailed by Covid and cold/wet weather for out first week, the property's excellent kitchen facilities allowed us to entertain friends in style. Our main gripe is with VRBO which twice changed the entry key code and locked us out of the house until we could contact the owner Rick who was on vacation out of the country.

Peaceful family sanctuary

Rick and Lynne's home was the perfect retreat for our 4 generation family. The kitchen is well stocked for every conceivable need, and the hosts went above and beyond to accommodate both great gramma and baby. The spaces are all welcoming and comfortable. Our host Lynne stopped by to introduce herself and we enjoyed meeting her. We seldom saw them during our stay although they live on the property, but they were easy to contact for questions. Just so relaxing for all of us.

5 Star Place & 5 Star Hosts

This is one of those times that you almost don't want to leave a review because you want to keep this perfect spot for your own future bookings... But Rick & Lynne were the best hosts with an ideal home for visiting UCSB & the Goleta / Santa Barbara Area - they deserve the recognition. What else can I say - the home was super clean, stocked with everything we needed (we discovered a new family favorite board game and were even treated to some delicious fruit Lynne harvested from the garden) and the neighborhood was quiet - but full of friendly people we met while walking our dogs. This is the spot! Thanks Rick & Lynne for hosting us. We will be back.

AMAZING stay!!

This house was perfect. Beautifully appointed, PERFECTLY situated close to everything..the beach, the mountains, and downtown restaurants and life! The owners could not have been more generous with making sure everything was perfect...from sharing their home to helping us when we needed suggestions. I sure hope life lets up come back to Santa Barbara soon--would stay here in a heartbeat.
