Charming Duggers Tropical Village Cottage

Relax among the tropical sights and sounds in this charming Duggers Tropical Village Cottage. Vaulted cross beam ceilings give this one bedroom beach bungalow a spacious open feeling. The comfortable living room features a flat screen TV, comfy striped sofa, a beautiful starfish patterned chair and two large window featuring topical views. Visit delicious local restaurants or create amazing meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The cute dining table provides seating for three. Get a great night’s sleep in the comfy master bedroom with queen sized bed and storage drawers underneath. The master bathroom features a walk in shower/tub combo and bright décor. The backyard has a shell crushed seating area where you can relax, read a book, enjoy your coffee or lunch.

World Famous West Gulf beaches are right across the street with your own private beach path. Jump on your bike and follow the bike path (located at the cottages entrance) around the islands. Kayak, bike, bird watch, view the abundant wildlife or go shopping then return to the privacy of your own beach cottage. Spend the day looking for shells then come back to your private beach home to relax the night away. Getting chairs back and forth is easy with the beach cart that is provided. Onsite washer and dryer, charcoal grill, Beach Chairs, Beach Towels and Umbrella provided. Duggers Cottage #2 is the perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation!

Perfect spot for an island getaway

Excellent place to stay. Quick access to the beach (short walk across the street and down a nice path) and bike path. Easy bike ride to the main drag with restaurants, stores, etc. House had everything we needed, including beach chairs, umbrella, and beach cart. The only complaint is that the washer and dryer are in a separate building and are coin operated, this wasn't entirely clear in the listing.

Just loved this nicely decorated cottage that had everything we needed! Comfortable bed. Great shower. Bike path practically right outside the door. Beach is right across the street!

Old school Florida charm! Very quiet area even during Easter week - perfect for a socially distant vacation for two. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and large new TV (although instructions for working the 3 remotes would be helpful. Beach cart was great for short walk across street to the beautiful beach.

Great find!

I honestly was a little nervous about this when I rented it, but trusted the reviews and they were right. It is a GEM! The cottage was so clean and cozy and in a great location. We loaded up the little beach cart daily after breakfast and off across the street we went to the quiet, peaceful beach. The cottage was very well stocked with movies, books, and games. The bed was very comfortable. If you want total relaxation and peacefulness...this is the spot! Hope to go back soon!

COMING BACK NEXT YEAR

This is our second year visiting Sanibel and our first time staying at Duggers Tropical Village. Our cottage number 2 was perfect for our week long stay. The home was well furnished with everything we needed. The kitchen accommodations made it easy to prepare meals. The bed was very comfortable and there were several different pillow options. The bathroom is nicely remodeled. The wagon and beach chairs worked beautifully. The location was perfect. We had a short walk to the beach and a less than 2 mile walk to the "city". The whole area was clean and quiet. The description online was exactly what we experienced, and the communication with the property manager was very positive. We plan to book again for next year.

Very good location

The cottage worked very well for the two of us. We rented bikes for the week and were able to get to Ding Darling Refuge, the Bailey tract, Bailey's general store. Doc Fords, Over Easy, and other restaurants. The things we needed for the beach were provided and the short walk to the beach was right across from the cottage. Very good property.

Wonderful cottage

The cottage is beautiful. Bed was very comfortablen; kitchen fully equipped. Beach wonderful, of course. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a terrible no-see-em infestation while we were there. Got a million really bad bites. Insect repellant barely helped.

Well located and nicely furnished and decorated. Very well equipped with everything that could be needed. Beach chairs and beach towels particularly appreciated. Overall a nice relaxing stay with no problems.

Wonderful!

We loved our stay! Our little cottage was private and beautiful. Shelling was definitely not what we were expecting as there was such a small pile compared to the photos we've seen over the years, so it was a bit disappointing for our first trip to Sanibel. The accommodations were perfect though! The cottage is immaculately maintained, the kitchen is well stocked, the bedding felt like a cloud and it was absolutely perfect for a couple. Thank you!!

Just what was advertised

Duggers #2 was a perfect cottage for what we were looking for. It had a rustic charm that is not easily found in Sanibel and was impeccably clean and tidy when we arrived. The little colony of 7 cottages was quiet and peaceful and remarkably friendly. It's a mix of owner occupied and rental units. We took full advantage of its proximity to the beach and were able to stroll across the road for sunrises and sunsets in addition to spending some glorious afternoons under the beach umbrella thoughtfully provided. We rented bicycles and pretty much were car-free throughout the week as Ding Darling and the Shell Museum and Tarpon Bay Explorers and food stores are all close by. We lacked for nothing in the cottage itself. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern with an excellent shower, the kitchen is a study in efficiency, and the decor is whimsical and tasteful. We were blessed with ideal weather during our week. I would definitely recommend Dugger #2 to people who appreciate the simple charm of a low-key and unfussy vacation accommodation.

Great Sanibel Cottage

We were delighted with this fine little cottage and its old Florida charm (have already rebooked for next year). The kitchen had everything we needed, and the large, flat-screen TV was an unexpected plus, although we were unable to change channels with the remote (an instruction sheet would be helpful). The white, open ceiling and exposed rafters provided an enhanced sense of space and, along with the living area and bedroom ceiling fans, helped keep us comfortably cool throughout our stay (we never used the air conditioner). We also appreciated the nice beach chairs and umbrella, as well as the easy access to both beach and bike path. A great and quiet little “village” in an equally great and quiet part of the island. Our sole disappointment was the deeply soiled, off-white bedroom carpet, which appeared beyond cleaning and spoiled the effect of an otherwise clean and bright interior. Replacing this with tile, as in the rest of the space, would be a most welcome improvement.

So cute!!!

We spent two wonderful weeks in this cute cottage. The decor was very well done and we had everything we needed. My husband loved the huge TV and all the variety of options to watch in the evenings after seeing the most beautiful sunsets every night. The beach was across the street and we spent everyday there collecting awesome shells, watching for dolphins and just plain relaxing! This definitely will be a place we want to return to and make more great memories. We loved it❤

Nice Vacation

My wife, Alicia an I enjoyed staying in your cottage. It was very relaxing after we came in from the beach or just touring the island.I would recommend to anyone who wants to visit the island to contact you for their stay. The other guest who stayed in the area were friendly and helpful. We appreciate you letting us stay in your cottage for the week. We will spread the word to our friends about your place. It was well worth it.

Great place to stay!

I really enjoyed staying here. I gave it four stars because I was under the impression that this was going to be right on the beach versus walking a little ways, there was no laundry or dryer in the unit, and I found an old bar of soap with hair in the shower. We were also given the wrong lock code upon arrival. The customer service lady was helpful, it just took a little while to figure out that the code had actually changed. Beyond that, this place is really nice. It feels new, it's cozy, and my husband and I had a really good time celebrating our 1 year anniversary here.

Quaint beach cottage at a quiet location. Relaxation time!

The setting and location of this cottage was perfect and just as shown online. This is how I picture old time 1950s Florida- pastel cottages and palm trees. Duggers Tropical village is a small property with seven cottages. It's a quiet and peaceful place unlike the large resorts and condos. The beach is an easy walk across the street. No need to drive or pay to park. I spent many hours swimming, sunning and searching for shells, so many shells! This area of the beach wasn't very crowded. Owners provided beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. So thankful for these and used them almost every day. It's good to relax, watch the surf go in and out. Also a good location for biking, being midway on island. A bike path in front on property made it easy to ride to either end and in between. JN Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve a few miles away. Lighthouse about 6 miles on a winding trail. The cottage was perfect for me, traveling solo. Efficient kitchen had plenty of dishes, pans, etc. and a corkscrew too! Glad to have a "real" refrigerator. Stretched my budget by preparing meals instead of eating out every day, but plenty of restaurants within driving or biking distance. Froze water bottles for beach and biking. The couch and sitting area was comfortable. Good to start day with cup of tea and relax at night with tv. Bedroom had plenty of storage, extra blankets, even iron and board. Loved the disco ball in bathroom. It would be fun if it worked. I also enjoyed the cute, beachy decor of the cottage. Glad I chose this cottage for my first visit to Sanibel. I was sad to leave and head back to New York. Thanks for a great vacation! Tammy D from Buffalo, New York

Tropical Escape at Dugger #2

My husband and I escaped the New England frozen winter for a week in Sanibel. We have been vacationing in Sanibel for 13 years. This cozy stand alone cottage had much to offer. Located more center of the island which we enjoy. It was very clean. Very nicely decorated. Comfortable furniture and bed. The disco ball in the bathroom was a nice touch. Kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the decorated tea/coffee cups. The owners are thoughtful enough to supply games, puzzles, movies and a few books. Beach access is across the street, and the cottage came with a great cart to carry the umbrella, chairs, shell combing tools that were supplied. Great thoughtfulness went into setting up this cottage for travelers wanting to enjoy Sanibel. To be noted, the washer and dryer are coin operated in a near by out building. We hope to return again to Duggers Tropical Village in the future.
