Amazing Classic Stone House: a green terrace overlooking sea, hill and mountain

  • Welcome to this beautiful and comfortable farmhouse for up to five guests with a terrace overlooking the sea and fantastic view.
    The traditional design and its location 376 meters above sea level also allows you to enjoy the relaxation in the cool summer nights. In the colder seasons, there are the fireplace and gas heating to keep warm.
    The rooms in the big house of 100 sqm., Are distributed on three levels. On the lower floor there is a living room with a fireplace, where you can enjoy the idyllic scenery around the house, the dining room, with adjoining fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms with shower or bath, complete the lower level.
    On the upper floor, which is also accessible from the garden, there is a large master bedroom with terrace overlooking the sea, hills and mountains. Through a wrought iron spiral staircase you get to the attic of the house, where you will find another bedroom with three single beds and a comfortable sofa area with TV sockets.
    The apartment offers is guests superior comfort, for nothing is missing: Taken satellite TV in every room, Internet access, air conditioning in every room, dishwasher, washing machine, a barbecue and a gazebo outdoors.
    The nearest village is about a fifteen minute walk and the beach and mountains in only ten minutes drive away. Parking is available directly at the house and your dog will be welcome by appointment.
    This apartment is the ideal for small families or friends, interest in the life of a typical Italian village. In a quiet position, just ten minutes drive from long sandy beaches of Mezzatorre di San Mauro Cilento/Acciaroli, here you can spend a relaxing holiday.
    To ensure that 'Il Canale 1861' and its magical atmosphere remain unchanged over time, Lords Guests are requested to observe the utmost respect for the surrounding nature and the structure of the villa itself, as well as the objects it contains.

Great little stone house with sea view, in a rural area

Host was very nice, and the house is the perfect choice for small families with dogs. Antonio was there right away to show us the way to the house. It is located in a remote area, very quiet and peaceful. The locals are great, down-to-earth people, very helpful and friendly. Just like Antonio!

The best little mountain hideaway

This is far and away the best holiday rental we've ever stayed at. It was immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you could need, including outdoor living space and pool. The nearest neighbour was just up the access road, and rarely seen or heard (he was busy preparing for his olive harvest). The views - inland to the mountains or down the valley to the sea - were spectacular. The only drawback is its remote location - a precipitous 10 minute drive to the nearest town with its spotlessly clean beach, and 30 minutes to the nearest large supermarket - but we felt that was a fair price to pay for absolute peace and quiet. Our landlord was so friendly and helpful - as was his nearby cousin, on hand if we needed anything. We are already planning a return trip.

Entspannung pur

Wir haben in dem super ruhig gelegenen wunderschönen Haus 10 herrlich entspannte Tage verbracht. Für Naturliebhaber ist es genau das richtige. Man hört sogar Nachtigallen! Die Küche ist ganz gut ausgestattet. Schön wäre noch ein Toaster. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und dank der leistungsstarken Klimaanlage kann man nachts sehr gut schlafen. Das zweite Schlafzimmer ist allerdings nur durch eine schmale Wendeltreppe erreichbar. Für ältere Menschen und kleine Kinder also nicht so geeignet zumal sich beide Klos ganz unten befinden. Zur Umgebung: Wir sind oft nach Accioroli gefahren. Ein sehr hübsches Städtchen mit netten Restaurants (sehr empfehlenswert ist Sirocco Terrace, tolle Location und spitze Service) Mezzotorre gleich daneben hat schöne saubere Strände. Der Markt (montags) in Accioroli bietet alles was der Cilento so kulinarisch zu bieten hat und ist ein Besuch wert! Das Restaurant oben am Berg Alfea) bietet zwar einen schönen Ausblick, ist aber sehr teuer und die Portionen sind sehr klein. Viel besser ist das AL Frantoio. Beide Restaurants kann man in gut 30 min vom Haus aus auch zu Fuß erreichen. Insgesamt ein toller Urlaub. Können das Haus auch wegen dem herrlich gelegenen Pool sehr empfehlen.

La casa no estaba para habitar, fría y sucia al margen de muy incómoda para subir a unas de la habitaciones era con escalera de caracol, nos fuimos al día siguiente de llegar ya que no reunía las condiciones

Tolles Objekt mit schönem Pool und hundefreundlich

Wir waren mit 5 Personen und 2 kleinen Hunden im Haus. Für unsere Bedürfnisse perfekt. Das Grundstück ist hundesicher umzäunt. Unsere Teenies waren kaum aus dem Pool zu bekommen. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch. Einziges kleines Manko: Für Tagesausflüge in die weitere Umgebung (z.B. Paestum, Pompeji) ist das Haus sehr abgelegen, da muss man viel Fahrtzeit einplanen.

Valerio sempre molto puntuale e gentile. Pasquale, incaricato del check in, é una persona estremamente gentile e pronta ad intervenire in caso di problemi. Posizione bucolica e meravigliosa, piscina accogliente e pulita. Perfetta per chi ama la tranquillità e la campagna. Siamo stati benissimo, ad un costo veramente onesto.

Absolutely stunning, cannot recommend enough

Beautiful villa in a lovely rural Italian setting. The views are amazing and the villa was spotless. Communication was great and we were given helpful tips. We walked up the hill to the local village and had a lovely meal at the meeting place and at il frantonio, both gorgeous pizzas. We stayed in the villa with 3 children and it was a genuine slice of heaven. The pool was lovely, this was the children's highlight. Every late afternoon we were visited by swallows doing a flyby and skimming the pool. We quickly learnt their times and ensured we were out of the pool or keeping still at least so they could have fun, beautiful. Listening to the church bells, drinking a glass of wine with children having fun in the pool, what more can you ask for. Thank you for hosting us, you have a very special house in a very special part of Italy. We hope to return. Love Emma and Craig

Amazing views and experience on the Cilento Coast of Italy!

My husband and I with our three teenagers stayed at Il Canale 1861 for 5 days. The house was amazing! The views were serene amidst the olive trees and the peaceful hills and view of the sea allowed us to rest and recharge. Valerio was very helpful, as well as the other people who assisted us in finding the villa. Arrive before dark as the mountain roads are intimidating in the night! The house was clean, and we enjoyed shopping at the local markets and cooking in the evenings as the kitchen had everything we needed. We even had an olive oil tasting at the nearby factory. The Cilento Coast is authentic southern Italy! We explored lots of little towns including Acciaroli and Castellabate. The ruins of Velia and Paestum are not far and worth a visit. The pool in the summer months would be a welcome relief to the heat of the beaches but since we went in March, we enjoyed the cool, refreshing weather, beautiful yellow flowers, and the blooming almond trees. We would love to return someday. My favorite thing to do was to sit outside on the patio and listen to the church bells ring across the valley. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Sehr schön

Lage des Hauses wunderschön, tolle Aussicht. Einrichtung ok, Küche sehr gut ausgestattet. Schlafzimmer sehr gut. Ein toller Urlaub in einem originellem Haus. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Von hier aus hat man einige Ausflugs Möglichkeiten.

Stunning house!

We spent a week in August in San Mauro Cilento. The house is absolutely stunning with the beautiful views over the hills and sea. The property was very clean and extremely well maintained. Valerio, the owner, was very helpful and kind as we have a lost baggage problem (flying with Alitalia). I would recommend the property to someone wishing to have a peaceful holidays away from hassle and noisy town. There are beautiful beaches in Acciaroli. It is worth going to Paestum to see the ruins. A car is a must!

Il Canale1861 a beautiful rental

Stayed for 10 days at Il Canale 1861 in San Mauro Cilento Italy . A lovely property which was found to be exactly as described . Well maintained with fantastic views of the sea & mountains from the garden. The covered eating area was a real bonus both in the heat of the day & in the evening. I would suggest some basic kitchen items (oil ,salt, pepper, etc) would be appreciated by guests . We found mosquitos a problem in the double bedroom so plug-in is a necessity. A very enjoyable holiday in a beautiful property.

Lovely house with panoramic views

We had a really good week at Il Canale 1861. The house was very clean and everything worked. There were a few insects but we enjoyed watching the lizards and butterflies. We particularly enjoyed the drive from Salerno to Sorrento along the Amalfi coast and also the local coastal towns and villages. Annarita was very friendly and helpful and so were all the people we met. The weather was gorgeous with only a little rain and the views from the house across the valley and also to the sea below were fantastic. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house.

Ein wunderschönes Grundstück mit Weitblick

Positiv: - Lage des Hauses am Hang mit Blick auf das Meer - Hausansicht von außen mit gelungener Illumination bei Dunkelheit - Gut ausgestattete Küche und schöner Wohnbereich - Sehr schöner Garten mit vielen Möglichkeiten (Liegen mit Auflagen, Außengrill, Pavillon mit großem Esstisch ...) - Kfz-Stellplatz auf dem Grundstück mit sehr günstigem Zugang zu Wohnbereich (Einkäufe) - WLAN Empfang überall im Haus und in den meisten Gartenbereichen - Vermieter ist bei Problemen immer z. B. per SMS erreichbar und auch am Wochenende und abends bereit, Abhilfe zu schaffen (hier: WLAN Ausfall). Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten: - WLAN Empfang nicht immer stabil und mitunter langsam - Hohe Heizkosten, wenn Heizbedarf aufgrund der Temperaturen besteht - Minimale Grundausstattung für spät ankommende Gäste wäre schön (z. B. Toilettenpapier, Wasser etc.) - Zum Wäschesatz mit Handtüchern sollten auch 2 größere Badetücher gehören. - Ansprechpartner bei Schlüsselübergabe sprechen kein Englisch, nur italienisch.
