Be ready to go back to an 1800’s hotel. This unique experience was a lot of fun. Well worth the stay and fits into the Old Town San Diego vibe.

It was awesome it was like you were back in time as you stay there. Staff was really great and helpful. Lots of great and fun shops as well as food all in walking distance.

The location of the Cosmopolitan was excellent right in the middle of the historic Old Town district and the room certainly had the feel of the early history with just the right amount of modern conveniences. Brenda, who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was meager but adequate for the amount we had. We enjoyed strolling through Old Town and looking at the exhibits (including the first floor of the hotel which is a museum) and old-time shops. Altogether a fun experience.

This was the second time I've stayed at the Cosmopolitan. The staff was great! This time my daughter and I were in Rms 4/5. We had a corner portion of the balcony with beautiful views of the sunset. I was there for a paranormal investigation of the Whaley House and my team and I did a small investigation of my rooms. We were not disappointed! I will definitely be back to SD and i hope to stay here again!

Excellent location if you want to be in the beautiful old town area of San Diego. It is a historical building and a museum with a nice historical charm. On certain days of the week, you will have to call a number so that you can be checked in. It was my first time to stay here and when I arrived at past 3pm on a Tuesday, I couldn't find the entrance, since all the doors were closed. I didn't realize you have to call them first. The room is nice and big, with a big bathroom. It's a beautiful property and was very quiet when I stayed. My only comment is that Rm#7 needs a good dusting of the furniture and floor, and maybe better pillows too.

We absolutely loved The Cosmopolitan! Such a unique and charming place to stay in Old Town San Diego. The historic atmosphere gives it so much character, and it really feels like you’re stepping back in time while still being comfortable. The location is fantastic—you can walk right out the door and explore everything Old Town has to offer. We loved being able to sit outside, enjoy the surroundings, and take in the whole atmosphere. It was so much more memorable than staying at a typical hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

A lovely room in a cozy hotel with a ton of ambiance. It's the 1870s, but with indoor plumbing and wifi!

The room was clean and staff were professional and kind. The bed was a bit too firm for me but not too bad. I wish the bar was available for the guests when i stayed there. They were having a baby shower and bar closed too early

Air conditioner kept turning off the last night, but I opened the window and it cooled off. Shower pressure is strong! I took some videos and heard a whistle a couple of times. Was that Ysidora or Mr Bandini calling for the cat? Loved it and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back.

Historical hotel furnished in period furniture. No amenities. No TV, no coffee pot. Continental breakgast on the first floor from 8:00 am to 10 am. I was in a " handicap room, although I am not really handicapped. Shower flooded the bathroom both times I used it. No end table in the sitting room. No closet to hang your clothes. Some kind of portable rack I used to hang clothes with hangers I packed myself.

Beautiful place, love staying here. Very safe to walk to the train from here. It’s a 5 minute walk and $2. To ride. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking was horrific. One line of parking with a sign stating “hotel parking”. However it was in the same parking lot of the Old Town Market. Every day it was packed and ALL cars parked there … not just hotel guests. One night during my stay I drove around for almost two hours before I was able to park reasonably close. Parking is basically nonexistent. My room had no TV. Nor did it have a hair dryer. Items typically provided by a nice hotel. The shower floor looked like it had leaked numerous times and had possible mold. It was kind of scary. The hotel had a nice patio area and music during the day. It was close to Old Town market and center. I give it 3 stars generously. I would not choose to stay there again.
