That was the last stage of our trip from Lewes to Brighton, the coast of Saltdean (UK). The Trip was a 21km ramble from the book: Timeout country walks near London Vol 2
Basking in the Winter Sun, Saltdean Beach The late afternoon sun provides a golden glow for those braving the cold to sit on the beach. The beach itself is protected by two sets of rocks each side of Saltdean Gap in order to provide a beach at all levels of tide.

Planks on Saltdean Beach One of a number of beaches in the south to be the recipient of the cargo from the Ice Prince which foundered off the Dorset coast. Despite local warnings to stay away from beaches and planks the locals in Saltdean seem to have disregarded that. The stack fell down five seconds after the picture was taken.
