Deer Laurel at Turtlehead

Summary:
Located at the north end of beautiful Lake Keowee is this 6000 square foot log cabin that can sleep up to 20 people in beds. Yep... 20! No sleeper sofas, no blow-up mattress or roll away beds. The setting is beautiful with lush hardwoods surrounding the home and a natural setting great for bird watching and enjoying the outdoors. If it is the sunshine you are longing for, the double decker dock will provide a great spot for sunning the day away.

The Space:
The main level of this home is so tastefully decorated with great spaces to lounge and dine. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need. The lower level is a great entertainment area with a pool table, ping pong, TV, and board games. It a great space for the kids to gather and hang out.

Guests will have access to the double decker dock. The owner will leave his boat on the lift in the center slip, however, there is ample room to tie up a boat on either side of the dock. There are several boat rental companies in the area, many of which, will deliver a boat to the dock.

If Clemson University is on your list ,this beautiful home is only 25 miles from Clemson.

Owner's boat will remain at the dock, however, guests with a boat or boat rental can tie up on the sides of the dock. Water depth at the end of the dock is ~20 feet.

Guest Access:
The driveway will only hold 4 cars and you cannot park in the street. The HOA is considering a ban on vacation rentals so PLEASE do not park on the street.

The Neighborhood:
The Turtlehead community is a beautiful gated community located at the north end of Lake Keowee. Some say this is the most beautiful part of the lake. There is a community boat slip you may use, but you cannot leave your trailer in the parking lot.

Other Things to Note:
Full disclosure... there are no bathtubs in the home, only showers.
The dining table only seats 8 people. There are 3 seats at the kitchen bar area and a patio table that seats 8.

Women's Church Retreat

This was the perfect location for our quick weekend away. The home is beautiful and the location is peaceful. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The one thing that was not accurate but definitely worked to our advantage was that one of the queen beds upstairs has been changed to three twin beds. I would highly recommend this home for family reunions and small group retreats. In fact my group already asking when we can go back.

Perfect for a workshop

Great place away from the daily rush. We had time to slow down and have great discussions in a very inviting and relaxing environment. Nothing beats the cozy atmosphere of a house with lots of wood! We will definitely come back!

House needs to be cleaned and applainces updated.

Great location. We have stayed in another house in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the house and especially the kitchen was dirty. Pots, glasses, plates were all greasy and dirty. The kitchen cabinets were sticky due to lack of cleaning. There were dead bugs in the beds upstairs which means that the bedding had not been changed for our stay. It appears the house had not rented in a while. The grill needs replacing and we had to light it manually since the igniter had rusted out. The fireplace didn’t work and house only has an apartment size dishwasher which is not adequate for a house that sleeps multiple families.

Big Family Getaway

We absolutely loved our long weekend at this spacious home! Recently we gathered our family to celebrate our mother’s 80th birthday and this place was large enough to comfortably sleep all 19 of us. The large dining tables, indoor and out, were also perfect for us to gather around. I’m not sure another VRBO exists on Lake Keowee that can accommodate this many people. Also, though not a new home, it was extremely clean!
