HOW TO GET AROUND

The best way to reach the apartment is by car; however, it is also possible to arrive by public transport. Tickets can be purchased on the bus (cash only) or at authorized points. Please note that bus services are not very frequent and finish around ten in the evening. Taxi services are also available, but they may not always be easy to find in the area.

From Como, it is easy to travel by train to Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). There are also public ferries departing from Como\'s city center pier to other locations around the lake.

The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. Shuttle services to and from the airports can easily be arranged for an additional fee. TIPS

To move around and stroll by Lake Como, especially in the small towns, it is essential to wear comfortable shoes.

There are many public fountains with drinkable water in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless otherwise indicated. Tap water is also potable. Feel free to bring your refillable bottle!

If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area while still enjoying mountain views, the Greenway del Lago di Como is an easy-to-follow trail connecting the lake towns from Colonno to Griante and passing through Ossuccio. Look for the Greenway signs in the area.

From Ossuccio, you can take a taxi boat to reach Isola Comacina.

In Italy, many shops (especially smaller ones) and services close in the middle of the day, so be sure to plan your shopping accordingly.

Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. However, for those who wish to dive into the water, there are a few options. Nearby, there are the Lido di Ossuccio and the Lido di Lenno. In other small towns, there are more beaches and bars by the lake. The Lido di Bellagio and the pebbly beach of San Giovanni await those who want to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio. Locals and visitors also love heading to Nesso, where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.
