Harbour Cottage, a listed terraced cottage situated on a pedestrian way in the middle of Rye in Sussex, is close to many quaint shops and restaurants. Camber Sands with its lovely beaches is only three miles away and other attractions include castles, stately homes and gardens open to the public.

Harbour Cottage is a lovely cosy retreat along a beautiful flower-lined passageway in the heart of the creative, arty town of Rye. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay and the double bed is comfortable, a little way uphill on the passageway is a magnificent Viewpoint and further along is a Church and Ypres Castle Viewpoint, nice for an evening stroll. 5 minute's walk from Rye Train Station, it's easy to get here. Just outside the train station is Jempson's, wonderful large Supermarket with all kinds of locally sourced foods, including; pickles, jams, shortbreads and much more. Also outside the Train Station are several Bus Stops, which will take you to the amazing sandy beach of Camber Sands, to the local Nature Reserve and to the quieter pebble beach of Winchelsea. Rye town has all kinds of colourful arty shops selling pottery and clothes, art supplies and antiques, lots of variety to choose from and some excellent restaurants and cafes, Simon The Pieman is our fave!Many thanks to Vivien for all her help and hospitality. Spotless and inviting historic cottage

We loved the cottage in Rye! Vivien has planted the sweetest garden on the hill and has decorated the small cottage in a comfortable and cheerful style. The neighborhood is charming, and it's an easy walk to the castle and the downtown. That said, we did have to park about 10 minutes from the cottage and carry our groceries uphill; it worked for us, but might not for others. A great place to stay!
