Ruta dels Romans i Reivers

This is the second visit to Dakota Eurocentral. It’s a lovely, cosy, moody (the decor not the staff) hotel, well situated between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Easy going, relaxed vibe. Lovely staff who are very helpful. We had an issue with our room, as we arrived amidst a storm and there was a rattle from the cladding outside our window all night and most of the next day. We spoke to receptionist early afternoon, who said she would look into it, but it may have been forgotten. We spoke with different staff early evening and it was sorted immediately. Room changed with minimal hassle. We should have just asked for a room change asap on discovering the issue as staff there are very approachable and willing to help. We haven’t eaten there as the gf options are limited but had some drinks in the bar and the “whisky person” gave my husband some great recommendations and me a great recommendation on wine. Again vibe very relaxed and not stuffy at all. The rooms (we were in two), are beautifully decorated. Wood work a little tired in places but we had everything we wanted/needed for a 2 night break. Well done Dakota Eurocentral.

6 steps leading to the front entrance of hotel makes carrying the luggage bags difficult. No porters in sight to help. Although the room stated it has airconditioning but the aircon is switched off in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. The room was warm and stuffy which woke me up. Called reception at 3am and they switched on the aircon again. After complaining to the front desk manager in the morning they brought us an electric fan to use in the room. Room was not refreshed until 4pm on 22/10/26 despite telling them to do so several times. Very disappointed with their service and response for a 4 star hotel in Glasgow!
