Welcome to your next adventure headquarters! Carrie`s Cottage is nestled in the heart of Red River Gorge, KY. This wonderful, country cottage will have you feeling right at home. Gift yourself, and your party, true seclusion that not many people in Red River Gorge get to experience. Find yourself relaxing on the porch swing, reading one of the numerous books available from this cabin owner`s massive collection. Finish off your day by easing into the bubbly hot tub and let nature work its magic.

- Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen (standard coffee maker, microwave, oven), hot tub, satellite TV, charcoal grill, fire pit, covered deck, washer/dryer, and more!
- Sleeping Accommodations: Bedroom 1: King Bed | Bedroom 2: Queen Bed | Air Mattress
​​​​​​​- One full and one half bathroom
- We provide fresh linens and towels. We also include essential starter packs to make your stay easier! (Starter packs include: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, 3 shampoos and conditioners, 3 bar soaps, 3 dishwasher pods, 3 laundry pods, 3 trash bags, and 1 sponge.) You will also need to bring your own firewood and charcoal for the grill. Please purchase firewood locally.
- 4WD is encouraged. Limited parking; vehicles exceeding 2 please park at the local park and ride and carpool to the cabin. Trailers prohibited.
- Prime Red River Gorge location! 10 minute drive to Natural Bridge State Park and 20 minutes to the famous Nada Tunnel. Close by are plenty of other activities such as horseback riding, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, restaurants, and more!

  • Standing under the Natural Bridge in Slade Kentucky. Its namesake natural bridge is the centerpiece of the park. The natural sandstone arch spans 78 ft (24 m) and is 65 ft (20 m) high. The natural process of weathering formed the arch over millions of years.   • This is sky bridge. The most massive arch in Red River. it spans over a hundred feet and about 50 feet in the air. Probably the most famous arch in Red River, it has been seen in movies. Many astro-photographers flock here because of it's structure and clear skyline. If you get a chance, the trail is only .8 miles and very much worth it. You first walk across the top of the arch, it is so big that you are halfway across before you notice your not just on a narrow rock path. then you circle around to be under the arch.

We had a pleasant stay at Carrie’s cabin. We enjoyed everything about the place. The view of the forest, wild turkeys who comes to the backyard, quiet time and soaking in the hot tub. We enjoyed playing board games and puzzles every night. There is no cell reception so you want to make sure you contact people before your arrival (wifi works great but I forgot some of my friends don’t have Apple phone) . The house had everything we needed. We cooked almost every night. They had basic condiments so be prepared to bring your spices if you plan to cook.

The place was great. It is nice to have the road markers to help guide you in, especially at night time! My only two negatives.. the beds are fairly hard, but I think that is fairly normal for vacations. Secondly, I understand the AC not going below 72 degrees, but it would be nice to have a heads up before the trip. I would've brought a fan with me! My family gets hot at night time. Overall, it was an amazing place. We enjoyed the calmness! We loved seeing the pictures and all the board games!

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. So clean and comfortable. Listing accuracy was spot on. Total privacy but close to everything you would want to do in the Red River Gorge area. The hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking. 100% recommend if you are in the area. I would stay here again if I come back this way.

Location was wonderfully secluded. Had an issue with plumbing in the sink and someone came to fix it promptly. The Beds are SUPER comfortable, the hot tub relaxing. I do wish there were some basic cooking essentials like oil or non-stick spray and tinfoil. We cleaned the grill really well because it looked like it wasn’t used in a long time but appreciated that there was charcoal for it!!

Remote Cottage

Great location with no one around. Very private with lots of wildlife around. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with anything needed to prepare meals. My wife loved the cottage because everything was built low. She is only 5’ tall. The only thing I would warn about is the shower is plumbed backwards with the cold arrow being hot water and hot arrow being cold. Overall it was a nice stay and we would rent again if in this area.

Lovely and secluded

My kids and I had a great stay here. There's plenty of space inside and out. The hot tub was great, and we were able to make use of the grill and fire pit. We took a walk around the yard and found a big waterfall at the end of the creek - very cool! The gravel drive has a steep part, but we managed just fine with our minivan.

Great quiet place

Had a great stay at this house. Very secluded and quiet on 75 acres where you have free access to go for hikes. Very peaceful and quiet here. It snowed during our week and the owner was there to plow for us and at one point I was doing something wrong with the electronic deadbolt and the owner was there within five minutes to help me. Being in the hot tub on the chilly nights was so nice. The house is very clean and completely stocked with anything you would need for your vacation..would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Comfortable and private

This property provided a great little getaway. We had all the needed essentials. The hot tub was roomy and felt great! The beds were comfortable. The air mattress is stored in the pantry. I enjoyed looking at the old pictures in there. We would stay again. Read the written directions before arriving because Google will not tell you which road to turn into.

A short trip with some of my kids so we could do some hiking. There were some small hiccups between VRBO and the management that caused some delays but the management group was responsive and helpful to resolve.

Lovely house and property. House was perfectly cleaned and well stocked. Tons of games to play to really spend quality time. This is our 2nd time staying. Hot tub was great. Only a couple things to mention the hot water heater is extremely small. 2 showers was hard to do. The only other issue is that the dish washer is missing a wheel so it’s a little wonky but works.

Girls week

Listing and the actual address are two separate locations and we never got communicated with by the property manager and how to get access into the home The canned food and pictures of their family needs to go! Does not add to the environment in the beautiful woods. Canned food in a mason jar should not be a decor aesthetic.
