"Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cereals, and a hot cooked breakfast. The only negative, we had to pay for parking, we booked on Expedia and it was advertised as parking available, no mention of having to pay. We will use this hotel again but will book directly through the hotel website. ( cheaper too )"

"I don't usually write negative hotel reviews, especially after a one-night stay, but after spending four nights at Broadfield Park Hotel in Rochdale, I feel it's important to share my experience. My husband and I were initially given a room with a very odd layout, where the TV was positioned away from the bed, making it uncomfortable to watch. "Lovely food in the Toby restaurant"

"Given the age of the property I’d say it’s fairly clean and tidy. Breakfast choices were okay, could do with more selection. The dining menu was not too bad, though was slightly disappointed with the duck dish I had for dinner service. The spa was nice, again it could do with a freshen up look as most items felt well used. Otherwise it’s been a pleasant stay."

"Over all not bad. Sofa come beds need to be changed, as not comfortable at all. I told them after 1st night but still not better. We were 4 and 3 of us slept in main bed and that why poor rating. So need to check there beds."

The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. "

"A good hotel for 1 night stay. Everything we needed. Plenty of carpark. Lovely cooked breakfast. Well done to the friendly young lady working in the cafe"

"Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. "

"Very poor upkeep of building and rooms. Room was unclean and very dilapidated. Paid £9 for breakfast which was a tiny plate of mini muffins and mini croissants to choose from. Drinks machine with only tea cups available which meant the contents ran out into the machine and spilled over. Would definitely not recommend staying here."

"Tried to check in after booking through Expedia only to be told that there was no booking in my name and they had no rooms available despite my booking a reference from Expedia and the money been taken from my account and which has still not been refunded to me. Very disappointed with both the Hotel and Expedia"

"Great location near public transport. Friendly/helpful staff. My only problem was the bath was quite deep and hard to get in/out of for showering; an age thing but something that others need to be aware of. Other than that niggle, would not hesitate to return."
