Our home is a great getaway for local and international visitors alike. Casa Menta is a bargain listing that offers relaxing hillside views while close enough to the Almendros shoreline to provide fresh sea breeze. Our house has all the amenities to make your stay more than comfortable.
The Calvache-Barrero barrio is close enough to everything without the traffic and congestion of other areas. It truly is a hidden gem. Spend the day touring the beaches of the Rincón, eating at some of our local recommendations and then return to enjoy the breathtaking night time view of the quiet hills and lovely stars.

The air conditioning was great. The property was clean and comfortable, it reminds me of my Aubuela’s house. It was easy to find and an excellent quiet location. The fenced and gated front was perfect for my dog. The neighbor was very nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous property with beautiful decor

I wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful property with wonderful decor. The kitchen was fully stocked and had every amenity needed to make a gourmet meal, including many basic ingerdients already stocked (seasonings, oil, starches etc.). The beds were super comfortable and the bedrooms were very large and well appointed. We loved everything about it. The location is perfect! You are literally 3 minutes away from multiple beaches and 10 to 15 minutes away from many more. The grocery stores is right down the road and you are surrounded by AMAZING restaurants. The host maintaines clear and concise communication throughout despite a hiccup on VRBO's part when we first arrived. She fixed it and was very gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. When we stay in Rincon, this will be at the top of the list. 100% would stay again and recommend! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Wonderful House

Greatlottle propertt in fabulous location. House was immaculate with aĺl the amenities and host was super! Definitely on the list to stay again when in the area. Nice mountain views in a quiet area. Highly recommend.

Great location

We enjoy having a clean and comfortable place to stay with a great location. Communications with the host was great and the TV was in working condition this year. Also liked the addition of the shower caddy. I did have trouble accessing the lockbox code via VRBO site and had to call our host while she was at work.

Comfy & convenient

The beds, bedding and towels were plush and comfy! The place felt more airy and spacious in real life than it seemed in the pictures! It seems like the host took others feedback in the reviews we had seen to heart and had added a toaster which we enjoyed for morning toast and provided 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom which was more than enough for our stay. The host, Jennifer, was kind and friendly and the location was lovely. It was too hot and humid midday to be outdoors all day so it was nice that each room had A/C. The downside to the futon and day bed in the small living room is there wasn’t really a comfy couch to relax on. The beds in the bedrooms were comfortable and the daybed in the living room seemed comfortable, but the futon wasn’t in the best shape. It was a little odd that we couldn’t see the lovely views out the windows of the living /dining/kitchen area (which was a nice open layout) unless we had them open (we opted for a/c but there was no glass just storm windows and decorative windows which obstructed the view). It wasn’t the fanciest but it was definitely clean, bright, airy, open, and comfortable where it mattered most! The local beaches were fantastic!

CASA MENTA

The house itself is nice - 2 BR/2Bath. Good, quiet location. However, a few dollars well spent would make it all the nicer. There were a few amenities missing: a toaster for your English Muffin in the morning, and a blender for your Pina colada in the evening. The master bathroom showerhead needs replacing as it does not diffuse the water, just emits a steady stream. Also it is too high to adjust. The shower could also use a soap dish and while you are at it, a grab bar or two would be a nice asset. We had no idea how to turn on the TV in the bedroom - and no instructions either. Finally we spoke with her and she explained,. She told us the "house manual" was on line on the VRBO website, but neither my friend nor I could find it. The TV in the living room did not work at all, Jennifer advised she has a cleaning person, which is all well and good, but she really needs someone to act as a "Manager" between visits, as someone should be sure everything is working properly for the next guest. There were plenty of bed and bath linens, and a washing machine, too. So that was nice. We bought a few things for the house, a step stool so we could reach high places, some matches for the candles she had around, and toilet paper which was in short supply in the house. I realize that Casa Menta is not a 5 star luxury hotel, but for under $500 it could be much more user friendly. I would not plan to return.

A great break from work

It was fine. Not a fan of a lock box with a tumbler lock in the pitch black. But other than that the bourse was perfect. Nice tile floors. Comfortable mattress in the master. (Did not use the other bedroom). Nice and breezy. Access to MSNBC — Big plus during this past week. Love the back balcony with the hammock. And I love coquis and roosters.. I would stay against. That’s the real measure!

Beautiful house, super comfy and tranquil place!

My family and I stayed for five nights, the kids loved it as soon as they walked in, super excited, which is rare for two tweens. The house was super clean and very cute with little details like hanging sarons and hats for the beach, some beach chairs and beach rackets, books, and games like dominoes and Connect Four, which we enjoyed playing a lot with the kids. The wifi works very good and there is Roku with Netflix included. Comfortable beds and rooms, the airconditioning was a welcomed plus! The area is very quiet and peaceful, close to Steps Beach, which is an excellent snorkeling spot. It is close to everything in Rincon, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. We loved that we could bring our dog with us. Jennifer was readily available and answered our questions super fast. Highly recommended and the price was super affordable!! Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect place

This property was at the top of a hill and close to everything one would need for a perfect stay in Rincon. The house has adequate bedding for guests and fabulous views of the countryside. It was clean and a short drive will get you to beaches, restaurants, and everything else that is great about Rincon. We really enjoyed our stay here and I will look for this place to rent next time I visit Rincon.

The house was very well kept and spacious. Plenty of room for 5 people. We enjoyed the hammock on the back deck and the great breeze there. It was nice to have air conditioned bedrooms. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe and the nieghbors were very friendly.
