The Space:

Hill House welcomes you with the charm and character you would expect from a traditional Yorkshire Dales stone cottage, thoughtfully refurbished to create a warm and comfortable countryside retreat. From the moment you step inside, exposed beams, stone features and inviting interiors set the tone for a relaxing stay surrounded by the beauty of Swaledale.



The spacious living room is the heart of the home, offering a cosy place to gather after days spent discovering the Dales. Sink into the comfortable seating, enjoy a film on the Smart TV, or simply relax together and plan the next day’s adventure through the surrounding countryside.



Just beyond, the large dining area creates the perfect setting for shared meals and long conversations. With space for everyone to sit together, it’s ideal for family dinners, celebratory evenings or relaxed breakfasts before heading out to enjoy nearby walking and cycling routes, market towns and picturesque villages.



The modern kitchen is a welcoming space where everyone can come together, whether preparing breakfast before a day outdoors or enjoying relaxed evening meals after returning from the hills.



A practical utility room sits just off the main living areas, providing space for coats, walking boots and outdoor gear after a day in the countryside. You’ll also find a washing machine and useful storage to help keep everything organised during your stay.



Upstairs, the bedrooms continue the cottage’s calm and inviting feel, each thoughtfully prepared to offer a peaceful night’s sleep after a day outdoors.

The Neighborhood:

A little further east lies the historic market town of Richmond, one of the most picturesque towns in North Yorkshire. Dominated by Richmond Castle high above the River Swale, the town features cobbled streets, independent shops, galleries and the Georgian Theatre Royal, one of Britain’s oldest working theatres.



The surrounding landscape is a paradise for walkers and cyclists. Quiet country lanes and trails lead directly from Low Row into the Yorkshire Dales, while nearby routes such as Buttertubs Pass have become famous among road cyclists for their dramatic climbs and sweeping views across the Pennines.
