Municipio de Rezekne
Rēzekne is a city in Eastern Latvia, in 'Latgale', one of the four historical and cultural regions of Latvia. This statue, known as Latgales Māra, commemorates the liberation of Latgale from the Bolsheviks in January 1920. The fate of the original statue is unknown as it was removed by the Soviets in 1940, and then again in 1950. The statue was reconstructed after Latvian independence and unveiled in 1992.
