Manu Bay Bush and Beach Cottage

This unique property is set amongst 4.5 acres covered mostly in native bush located in the Manu Bay Coastal Reserve area. Flourishing bird life includes Tui, Kereru, Fantails and Warblers nesting in surrounding trees. Bird song can be heard throughout the day especially at dawn.
Laze around enjoying amazing ocean views from the cottage or explore private bush tracks down to streams and ocean. Visit Raglan's main surf beach (surf patrolled) 20 minute walk or 5 minutes by car. Also in the area there are surf breaks, surf lessons, boat ramp (1 km away) yoga classes, golf course or sample a range of cafes, bars, shopping and entertainment all available in nearby Raglan village just 7 kms away.
This haven is ideal for couples as a romantic getaway or for family/friends looking for a special experience.
There is one other house located on the block, out of sight so your stay here will be private.

Note: Stairs to loft bedroom are steep. Not full head room in loft.
Some parts of the bush track are steep but manageable by people of moderate fitness. There are large rocks on the beach. Cellphone coverage is patchy.

Property was just as described and the owners were amazing hosts. Especially loved the hand drawn map of the property, with instructions on how to reach the beach via the nature track.The cottage has the most wonderful views and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of nature (ocean and birds).Close to the main town of Raglan and the exceptional cafes and eateries.Lots of nature based explorations to be had on the property and around Raglan.I cannot thank the property owners enough for a chance to stay at this idyllic property.If I am ever back in Raglan, I would book again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely stunning view, private and secluded area, close to all amenities and beach access. Host was accommodating, and communication was nice and easy. My one and only complaint would be the driveway, driveway is steep and gravel, we skidded a few times when exiting the driveway as it was wet, the host did mention they plan on doing some work with the driveway. Apart from that, the place was perfect and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thank you for sharing your cottage

A pleasure to return to this magical spot!

Return visitor. I love coming to this place! It’s nestled next to native bush with a path down to the stony beach below and an ever changing view out to the ocean. A perfect escape from all the noise. I’m already looking forward to my next trip :-)

Relaxing

Loved it! The views of the ocean, the birdlife, in a real NZ bach. Easy trip in to Raglan. Hosts were wonderful- we would love to return to this beautiful spot. Thanks for having us.

Quintessential NZ bach

We spent two nights here, with lots of rain, and thunder. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. We managed to walk down to the beach, but after the rain it was quite slippery.

Fantastic situation nestled against native bush with amazing views over the ocean. The bach is quite rustic but tidy and comfortable. Basically my dream cottage and location. I just didn't like the big furry spiders in the cobwebs, nor the big ones running around the bathroom....yikes!

Property was a lovely kiwi bach, just what I'd love to live in. Simple, clean by the sea. The area (Raglan town) was quiet but friendly and welcoming. We didn"t do much walking or exploring outside as weather was terrible. This didn't stop us enjoying our stay. I would like to thankyou for the loan of your lovely bach. Fiona & Julie.

Serene spot in the bush

Toni was easily contactable regarding any issues, the cabin was very tranquil and private. It suited us perfectly. The drive into town was under 10 minutes, so we got to enjoy all the wonderful things that Raglan has to offer. The large bed downstairs was comfortable.

beautiful place for an escape

Lovely place to stay. Simple old school kiwi bach with everything you need. everything in good working order, clean. Very comfortable furniture inside and out for relaxing and enjoying the view. Good quality linen provided. Would definately stay again.

Raglan hideaway

Cute bach nestled in the bush looking down to the surf beach. Great location for peace and quiet. A quick drive gets to the town for all that has to offer and the beaches. Lovely place.

Really good

We loved this place. It was the perfect simple Bach immersed in nature with a bush walk down to the beach. A beautiful view of the sea and bird song in the morning. Just the perfect spot away from the crowds and near to the fantasy beaches of Raglan. Thank you.
