Cairnmhor is a delightful 4 bed, 5 minutes walk from the town centre in Portree. With beautiful views over to Ben Tianavaig and across Portree Bay you couldn't ask for a better location.
The house has been given a make over early in the year to give you a wonderful escape to the heart of the island, Portree.
Ideal for family holidays, groups of friends, or even 2 families of 4!
Come, stay, soak it all in and enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We figured out the stove & dishwasher but the videos were outdated on these appliances. The kitchen could have been a little better stocked but we managed nicely. Loved the town of Portree & enjoyed walking to & fro. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

My only complaint is about the poor communication regarding the check-in process. I had not heard anything from them so three days before our arrival I messaged the host: received no response. So the next day I messaged the host again: no response. Then I started to worry about whether we had a reservation. I contacted VRBO who contacted someone who told me their person who deals with reservations was out but would return the next day. The next day I heard nothing. I messaged the host again: no response. Finally on the morning we were to check in I received a message that all was well. This caused unnecessary stress. Never did hear from the host. Once we were there and settled in all was fine.

Comfortable lounge, well equipped facility, and perfect location! Five minute walk to downtown square & harbor. Plus was a washer & dryer as we were on a two week holiday. Finding the place was a little tricky. For future guests, it’s located across from the Portree High School. Would definitely stay here again!!

Comfortable modern decor, well equiped house. Stayed as 4 couples and accommodation worked well. It was well equiped cosy and comfortable.5 mimute walk into Portree centre. Easy access all over the island. Lovely gardens and ample parking for four cars Downside name of property not clearly visible so toom a while to find. A mirror i the bedrroms without ensuites would be good

My wife and I stayed at the home for three nights and it was truly memorable. The furnishings were excellent, including the bedding, bathroom supplies, kitchen appliances, and plates/utensils. It was clean, warm, and welcoming. The location can’t be beat. The home is an easy half mile walk from the Portree city center, including shops, bars, and restaurants. Also, the location in Portree is excellent for seeing the many Isle of Skye highlights The communication with Ben and Cat was spot-on perfect. Cat stopped by shortly after we arrived and provided a description of the home and its amenities, as well as the general area. It was raining sideways the day we arrived and Cat proactively booked a taxi for us for dinner. Nice! Best of all, I messaged Ben and Cat a few days before we arrived regarding their suggestions for a driver/guide for a day tour around Isle of Skye. Cat responded that a nephew of hers (Ollie) could be available. We laid out our desired stops, including runs and hikes. Cat added a few local stops to the agenda. On the day we did this trip, Ollie showed up exactly on time and we had a perfect day with him. We saw everything we wanted and Ollie added some local knowledge and flair. It was perfect and the highlight of our time in Portree. Thank you Cat and Ollie! We highly recommend this home and the management team. It is a perfect home base for seeing all that Skye has to offer!

We really enjoyed our stay and the communication from the rental company. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax, and we also enjoyed the giant kitchen table for socializing. The kitchen had everything we needed. They do need to update their info on how to use appliances and heat. There seem to have been renovations since the original videos were made so it took us a while to figure some things out. It really is a short walk into town, so we really loved the location. The sun even came out just long enough for us to enjoy a brief happy hour at the picnic table!

This was a wonderful experience. We had a group of seven and it was the perfect. The best location and the perfect size. A nice big kitchen and table for us all to eat at. Very easy instructions for checking in/out. The place was clean and just beautiful. We especially loved the outdoor picnic table, which was great for our evening of whiskey and relaxing.

We had a great stay here. The location was fantastic, 5 minute walk to downtown. The kitchen is nice and open and the large kitchen table fit all of us. The living room had a fireplace to make it extra cozy.

We absolutely loved our time at Cairnmhor House. It was exceptionally well equipped (particularly the kitchen, for those who enjoy cooking) and is our favourite holiday home we recall ever staying at! It was very clean and the location was superb - a short work to the centre of Portree and as a base to other attractions on Skye. 10/10!

Overall really happy with the property, the house was clean and roomy. Plenty of space for four children to around, including outdoor space. The location is perfect for quick walks into Portree and 30-60min from most touristic spots. More information on local restaurants would be great, as we found the ones you could book were fully booked weeks in advanced and others were walk in only, which made eating out harder. But we did get to try to local food during the day.

Perfect location and kids absolutely loved everything about the house. Rooms are spacious with great closet space. Kitchen and living room also ample space. Overall a great experience. The upgrades were absolutely wonderful- cleanliness always a huge plus.
