Oregon birthday Surprise

When we arrived we were greeted by our hosts who were so warm and cordial. There was plenty of space to sleep for me and my two brothers . Fridge was stocked with food and coffee . It felt like home! We came home with cherries from their tree outback as an extra treat!

Wonderful stay at the Multnomah Guest House

Our family had a wonderful stay at this comfortable home and particularly enjoyed the beautiful yard and decks overlooking the forested neighborhood. The sauna was very nice too! Dennis and Trudy were lovely hosts and stocked the house well with essentials and a generous supply of food staples. The location was very convenient for our stay. We all appreciated the kindness of our hosts and the peaceful atmosphere.

Kind of a fairy tale experience!

We felt so comfortable and happy while in this beautiful 2 story guest house! Trudi and Dennis, hosts,are an absolute delight to meet.We loved the quaint, warm ambiance and the surprises that crop up at this home. Don't miss the upstairs bedrooms each of which have little play rooms for kids adjoining the bedrooms. Every kind of toy, doll, book can be found there, many are old fashioned and were sentimental to see. This place is a bit like going to your grandparents home in the old days. There are books in every room, something we enjoy. The kitchen is especially cozy and inviting. The host Trudi left beautiful flower arrangements in each room and even out on the patios table and chairs. We have never felt so well taken care of. They also left a few food essentials to tide us over that first night. We enjoyed the views and were very interested to learn the history of the two homes and the land surrounding. We should all be so lucky to have a VRBO experience such as this one. The hosts are wonderful and I found that I wanted to take them home with me.NOTE: For those of you over 65, (that includes us), you will want to sleep in the first floor bedroom as that is adjacent to the one bathroom in the home. Otherwise you will be going up and down stairs at night. The upstairs rooms are lovely and there is also a TV viewing area along with the sweet children's play rooms. Also one of the upstairs rooms has skylights to the stars over each of the twin beds. Enjoy!

Perfect family vacation rental

We felt perfectly at home in this warm inviting spot. The hosts were most gracious and welcoming. Instructions were simple and clear. We had everything we needed. I hope to return to this very place on my next trip to Portland.

A lovely place for Christmas!

My husband and our three small kids stayed over Christmas. Trudi and Dennis were so welcoming, and the house was cozy and warm. The kids LOVED all the toys, and the house even got us started with milk, eggs, and bread in the fridge. We will be back!

"They're nice buckets!"

Property was nice and as described, but the first red flag was the repeated calls from the hose before arrival to make sure they were there to greet us for checkin. One call, sure, but they were at 3 or 4 before we even got there. The first morning, we discovered the toilet wouldn't flush. We alerted the host, they said they'd get a plumber while we were out, still no big deal for us. We get the call that the toilet is fixed, great. We get back to the rental and the toilet still doesn't flush. We alert the host around 6pm, host says they'll call a plumber again and provides us with buckets (which she filled and we appreciated) for dumping water into the toilet to force a flush, indicating to us that this is not their first time dealing with this problem and that this solution was known to work. Suboptimal for 4 people and 1 toilet. They tell us that a plumber is going to return the same night, which we were fine with. Host lingers, asking us personal details to tell to her grandchild, etc. Not inappropriate in content, just, like, an unreasonable amount of contact with hosts when we've expressed that we want to be left alone to our trip. The host returns, this time letting herself in, citing knowing that my wife is asleep as her reason for not knocking or ringing the doorbell. Plumber comes, we go to bed. Second morning, toilet still isn't working. At this point, we've started just using public bathrooms. Wildly inconvenient. Host comes back ver, we express t

Super location in quaint Portland neighborhood

The property is charming and you feel as though you are in a tree house with all of the greenery outside. Hosts are friendly, accomodating and even had fresh fruit, cheese and lovely bread in the unit when we arrived, along with staples such as coffee, milk and cereal. We enjoyed are stay and conversations very much!

Great place to stay

We loved our stay! The owners are very communicative. They left us some food items so we wouldn't have to go immediately to the store -- they left milk, eggs, fruit, coffee and some other basic items. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for several people. The backyard was a great place to hangout. We will be coming back to stay.

Wonderful Getaway

What a fantastic place! The hosts were so kind and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed The Guesthouse and would definitely stay again. Wonderful location in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Downtown Portland was super close by and very easy to get to. Great place if you want to get to the coast and Mt. Hood in the same trip.
