Stay in My District Forest Park! Large, private 1 bedroom daylight basement apartment with private exterior entrance. Nestled in the trees with private access to Forest Park Trails, across the bridge from the Portland`s St Johns Neighborhood. (5 min) and less than 15 minutes from downtown Portland and the Pearl District. WIth a list of great amenities to make your stay as close to home as possible. Full kitchen, bathroom and an additional sleeping area in living area, dining room and private laundry in apartment. WIFI, Smart TV, & FREE street Parking.

Updated kitchen is open to living area and has plenty of space to prepare meals.  Kitchen is fully stocked with full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and small appliances. All utensils & cookware are included to make eating in, convenient and enjoyable. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner seated at the dining table with 4 chairs  or outdoors on a sunny day.

Snuggle up with a book or watch a movie on the comfortable couch with chaise lounge. Perfect for relaxing at home, Smart TV, with Netflix & Amazon and wireless Internet. Couch also converts to a full size sofa bed for additional guests and there is additional seating in living area. 

Bedroom features a comfortable King-size bed, with quality linens, and  plenty closet space for storage of clothing and personal items. There is large desk and chair, with views out the window for working from home.

Bathroom has recently updated, nice large shower. Essentials, paper products and high quality linens, are supplied for guest convenience. Bathroom is also stocked with a hairdryer and an iron/ironing board are available at the property.

Private laundry with stacking full-size washer/dryer is provided for guest use.

Private exterior entrance from the driveway, a small outdoor area with seating and FREE parking on the street.

A pack and play, children’s toys, books and kitchen items make this home a comfortable space for families to enjoy.

This property accepts up to (2) Dogs on a pre-approval basis for an additional fee of $50 per pet. We do NOT accept Cats due to allergies. Please be sure to read and understand our pet policy.

** PLEASE be sure to read “other things to note” before booking this property.
-The property is also located in the forest up a winding paved road and may be hard to access in the winter.
-GPS does not always take you to the correct address so please be sure to read check in instructions and directions thoroughly before you arrive.
-The owners live above the space and they have a young family. Noise does travel!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to entire private basement apartment and a small private outdoor space.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled in the trees overlooking the river, in Forest Park. The neighborhood is quiet and you can hop on a trail directly out your door. This is a great space for the outdoor enthusiast that wants to stay close to the city. The location is across the bridge (St Johns Bridge is one of Portland's oldest & most photographed bridges) St Johns is an eclectic North Portland neighborhood with it's own town center. The neighborhood retains its small-town charm with its many locally owned shops, pubs and cafés. Spring thru Summer there is a local Farmers Market every Saturday. Annual St Johns Parade, St John's Ale Fest and the Cathedral Park Jazz Fest are a must! Pack a picnic blanket for an afternoon in Cathedral Park, cross the picturesque St. Johns Bridge and get ready to explore a lovely, lesser-known side of Portland.

Getting Around:
This is a residential neighborhood on a hillside across the bridge from St Johns, 10 minutes to NW Portland/NW 23rd Neighborhood, less than 15 minutes to Downtown. Location is 20 min to PDX and to Vancover WA. A car is advised although UBER is a good option if you don't plan to bring a car. Once you get downtown you can use the MAX light rail to get all over Portland Metro. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill from the house but public transportation is limited.

Other Things to Note:
- this property is located on the hillside in Forest Park and it is a drive up a steep and winding road to the property. The road can be sometimes slick and hard to access during snow or winter months. An SUV is recommended during the winter months.
-This is a lower level daylight basement apartment and the owners and their children live directly above the property. As with any Basement apartment noise can travel.
-GPS does not accurately reflect the directions. PLEASE read the directions thoroughly before heading to the property

Portland City Code requires that we keep a log with the Name, Address and Vehicle Information for ALL guests. This will be required before check in. If you are renting a vehicle, we will need the License Plate number or we will need to note alternate transportation (ie; air, train, bike) Please provide this information with your confirmed booking.

-You must be over the age of 25 to rent any of our properties.
~You may be required to provide a photo of your Drivers License or Government ID directly to the host. This is for the safety and security of both guests & property Owners, and will be requested at the discretion of Stay in My District.
- No additional guests and visitors/guests that are not registered on the reservation booking are allowed to be on the property after 10pm.
- Pets are allowed at this property and must be pre-approved prior to arrival with an additional pet fee of $50 per pet. This home accepts up to (2) dogs. PLEASE be sure to read and understand our pet policy.
- Smoking anywhere on the property will result in forfeiture of your entire deposit plus can result in additional fees up to $500 for smoke removal.
- Self Check In using lock box. Check-In is any time after 4:00PM and Check-Out is by 11:00AM.
- Housekeeping is required for all stays over 15 days and provided at an additional cost of $50 per cleaning. Basic cleaning including disinfecting kitchen and bathroom, change linens and clean floors. This will be charged after confirmed reservation with an alteration request. If you would like a mid stay cleaning on shorter stays this is an option as well.
- FREE street parking

This property accepts up to (2) Dogs on a pre-approval basis for an additional fee of $50 per pet. We do NOT accept Cats due to allergies. Please be sure to read and understand our pet policy.

-Pets should not be left unattended at the property inside or outdoors. We do have kennels available on request for an additional fee.
-Please pick up after your pets in outdoor areas immediately.
-Pets are NOT allowed on furnishings or linens. Evidence of pets on furnishings or linens will result in additional cleaning fees to guest.
-Pet fee accounts for additional cleaning and normal wear & tear due to hosting pets. Pet fee does NOT cover damage or additional cleaning above and beyond reasonable.

Interaction with Guests:
Owners live onsite in the main house. Stay in My District manages the property for the owners and I live in the neighborhood. I can be available via text, messaging or phone.

The parking is difficult giving the very hilly area. Since the owners live above the unit, there was lots of noise (footsteps, talking).

The apartment is in the basement above the house of the hosts. The hosts were amazing. At times you could hear footsteps above us. It didn't bother us at all. The house is located in a forest away from all the noises of Portland. The location was perfect for us since our family lives in St. Johns. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had lots of room. We will stay there again. A very positive experience.
