    Air conditioned with heat pump: Stone’s Throw Cottage is aptly named because it is so close to everything you want to do on your next family vacation. Located in lovely Parksville, British Columbia on Canada’s stunning Vancouver Island, they don’t call our West Coast the Best Coast for no reason! For those that want the modern conveniences of home, but the coziness of a classic West Coast cottage, this is the vacation home for you.

    Located inside Oceanside Village Resort, you will be within a minute or two walking distance from the year-round community swimming pool, specialty shops, world class Tigh-Na-Mara Spa and Grotto (an absolute must experience) and the stunning beauty of Rathtrevor Beach. The friendly city of Parksville is just a short car ride away and offers activities, dining and entertainment.

    IN THE VILLA
    At 1,109 square feet, Stone’s Throw Cottage is a 2-level vacation home that will instantly make you feel at home. The main floor features stunning beamed wood vaulted ceilings and a wide open floor plan. Chef’s kitchen with modern appliances, a dining space for entertaining, and a family sized living room with gas fireplace. Two generous bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and a full bathroom with tub and shower are also located on the main floor.

    The staircase leads to the upper loft that works perfectly as a third bedroom with a quality, comfortable pull-out sofa bed, modern furnishings and a full bathroom with a large walk-in glass shower.

    Guests to Stone’s Throw Cottage appreciate the thoughtful amenities including a full size washer and dryer on the main floor, dishwasher, two full bathrooms, free WIFI and complementary tea and coffee.

    The West Coast inspired décor of Stone’s Throw Cottage décor is West Coast inspired. The colour schemes, materials and leather furnishings were chosen with busy holiday families in mind.

    ON THE PROPERTY
    The front of Stone’s Throw Cottage includes a lawn, private driveway and a well-appointed front porch for enjoying summer evenings with a good bottle of Vancouver Island wine. For barbecues and larger gatherings, a family friendly backyard with dining furniture, grill and a three-person lawn swing is a great place to gather and unwind.

Run the dishwasher, if you can put a load of towels in the washer:) all garbage out of unit and take to the entrance to the big green/recycling bins.
NO smoking or pets. Missing pool keys or remotes will result in a $50 charge. $150 charge if lost heat pump remote.
Quiet times are 11pm- 9am, are strata enforced. As the owner, we will be fined for any disturbance complaints and therefore will charge you the fine.

Great location, quiet and relaxing stay!!! We cooked meals and had an amazing stay. We used both outdoor patios, depending on where the sun was, and appreciated the ability to have coffee in the morning outdoors. The upstairs pull-out sofa may be better suited to kids (my adult kid found it to be less comfortable than the beds). In general, a wonderful cabin - would stay again!!!

Lovely getaway in Parksville

Nicole was a wonderful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our use of the cabin, nearby pool/hottub and the pitch and putt course. The cabin is so well equipped and has many updated appliances. We also loved visiting the local pub which was in walling distance. Many thanks!

Had a terrific time!

Overall the place was great and we had an amazing time. The place is very clean, well equipped, and exactly as advertised. The little community of houses is very cute and there were a lot of friendly families around. The proximity to the mini golf was a favorite for our kids. The only call out I will make is that I believe it says an 8 minute walk to the beach but closest public beach (Rathtrevor Beach) is probably a 20+ minute walk for adults. It was recommended to us strongly that with kids you should drive there.

Had everything we didn’t even know we needed!

Loved our stay, our kids LOVED IT! The pool was a big hit, location to our friends at Rathrevor Beach was perfect. We forgot our shampoo and conditioner and low and behold…there was some at the cottage! We will definitely stay again, even in the off season because we can imagine just hanging out in the lovely space! The hedges around the front deck added just the right amount of privacy for some evening drinks, stargazing and tunes for the parents, while the kids just swam at the pool or lounged in their rooms! Thank you.

Island Get Away

We enjoyed our stay, very enjoyable. Everything we needed was there. The internet was a bit of an issue. Beach access was not the greatest a bit of walk for sure when you have all your beach essentials, especially when the weather is hot. The only suggestion I will make is that there be a night table and lamp of some kind on each side of the beds for, water, reading, etc. We would definitely make a return visit.

Very nice modern and clean unit in lovely development

Plus- very close to Rathtrevor Provincial Park. Would definitely consider renting again. Small issues were traffic noise on back deck and poor lighting in living room. Neither though impeded our enjoyment of this lovely well equipped property.

This was a lovely place to go with our family. We loved going to the pool and driving to Rathtrevor beach. It was only a quick drive 5 minute drive to Parksville Community Park that has a spray park, playground and lovely beach. Thanks again!

A great cabin!

This cozy cabin was perfect for our family vacation. It comfortably slept all 5 of us and was well appointed with all of the amenities we needed. Well maintained and cared for. We spent as much time outside the cabin on the semi private deck as we did inside. Highly recommended for families who want to get-away but stay in comfort.
