4th time to Kissimmee in 18 months. House was clean with quick access to attractions. Layout was open with 2 large master kings, 1 bunk room & 1 double room. Laundry room by the kitchen & game room in the garage. Nice private pool & hot tub. Windsor Palms has a clubhouse, game room, pool, tiki bar & sports courts. We were given 1 laundry soap, 1 dish soap packet & 1 roll of paper towels. Toilet paper & linens were plentiful and the appliances worked well.
Upon arrival at 3a, went right to bed and didn't have time to check things out. Got up in the morning and saw a hose from inside the neighbor's screened patio going into our pool and was still on. The pool was close to overfilling and the water was ice cold. Jets on the hot tub also wouldn't turn on. We notified management immediately. Around lunch time that day, the pool guy was there, took care of the hose and fixed the spa jets.
Pool heat is a big deal for some of these units, and many managers charge a fee for it. I asked management if they would heat the the pool briefly to bring it up to a decent temp due to the inconvenience. After several hours of no reply, I was told no, and that it was already at 88 degrees. Not sure how it got so warm in a matter of hours, unless they heated it and didn't tell us.
Later that day, I noticed when using the wash machine that the cold setting was cranking out hot water, but the lines appeared to be connected correctly. I then noticed after running it again that the blue valve was hot and the red valve was cold, so the lines were not connected correctly. I told management about this as well. (All leading to an overarching issue)
A maintenance guy came by when we were out the following day. He left a note saying "the washer is hooked up correctly, the spa jets work, and if you want spa heat, you need to call management and pay for it." This was the kicker, because it seemed that management's perception is this was all some ploy for free pool heat. When, in fact, the washer was not hooked up correctly, we were there when the spa jets were fixed & I never asked for free pool heat. I only asked to have the pool temp brought up for a bit due to the issue. This whole pool heat thing was made into way too big of a deal, and the note from maintenance just added insult to injury.
We have a track record as 5-star guests, and were trying to be helpful and communicative. Management needs some improvement here, but the house was still nice.
