*Great location, not clean and bad communication*
We rented this house for 2 weeks. My husband does summer work and so we get our family time in February.
After a long trip to this house we were all exhausted. When we got there we were told the door code. It absolutely would not work. I tried over and over thinking surely I was just tired and not pushing something right. Finally I called the number given by the house only for them to say they no longer work for the company!!! I call the other number and they said the same thing. I kept messaging the host only for them to copy and paste the SAME exact instructions over and over after I said it didn’t work. I was starting to think we got scammed. I called a number I was told to by one of the ladies only to receive a text message back from that number saying to get a hold of the owner. I had no way to get a hold of the owner who I guess was now in charge! We were so frustrated and tired.
After an hour and a half of sitting outside and just about to go get a hotel, I got a call from the owner that he was on the way.
The code didn’t work for him either so we were given a key to use for our trip which was kind of a hassle to make sure whoever was headed back from the pool had it.
When I went to inspect the house, there were windows open, the carpet was filthy and not vacuumed. The kitchen had stuff splattered all over the cupboards, the toilets were NOT cleaned and every shower with glass had scum all over it. The sinks were filled with a white crust around the drain (guessing tooth paste). One of the bathrooms was covered in black hair that I had to sweep and clean myself due to friends of ours coming to stay. Stuff on the walls. It was gross. Yuck!
I had originally asked the owner if we could do 7 days pool heat instead of 12. He said has to be the full length of time. I understood. I told him how dirty the place was, he apologized and agreed to heat the pool at the price for 7 days. I assumed we were then getting the pool heat for the length of our stay but at the price for 7 days. On day 6 our pool heat was shut off!!At this point I just wanted to enjoy my time there and tried to let that go. The last day our shower wouldn’t turn off. Contacted the owner at 4pm only for him to return my call at 11 pm saying he would come the next morning. We slept all night hearing the shower run!
This was a trip we were so excited for and just wanted to relax on, but the issues we had were very disappointing especially after how much you pay!
