This property is located on the tranquil Rock River in Oregon, Illinois and is perfect for a couple or family to get away. Enjoy fishing from the large deck or while out on the water with your boat. There is a boat ramp available only one mile away in town and at Castle Rock. One hundred feet of river frontage at the house for convenient docking and ease of use. The barbecue will come in handy when you want to keep an eye on your fishing pole while preparing a delicious meal. There are two bedrooms with two beds each. The master bedroom has two new queen beds. They are supremely comfortable so that you will sleep like a baby! The second bedroom has two twin beds and there's a hide-a-bed in the living room for larger get-togethers. The kitchen is fully stocked with a large table for your group to gather at. The living room has two full couches and entertainment center. Views of the river are also enjoyed from the sunroom and kitchen. Our friendly neighbors might give you a wave. Explore nature on any of the hiking trails of the surrounding three state parks. You'll find many activities to interest you such as horseback riding, dinner cruises, golf, and swimming at nearby lakes! Ask us where to find the bald eagle's nest! Bring your canoe, kayak, or other water sport toys. Stay at the Rock River Hideaway to relax and unwind! Don't forget your Binoculars, Bald eagles just across the river from House

Great location in a quiet neighborhood and right on the Rock River! Tanzie was a great host. Pretty much everything we needed we found was already there! Great location very close to several state parks and nature preserves. If you enjoy nature, this is a great spot to stay. Close to everything!

This property is a hidden treasure! The inside is very well kept and was exceptionally clean. There is plenty of room to spread out and the sunroom is spectacular. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and even though neighbors had parties, the noise level was only audible when we were outside. The kitchens stocked with pots, pans and dishes! We enjoyed being right by the river. We watched the bald eagles right across the river, saw a deer swim across the river and a red-headed piliated woodpecker for the first time ever. It was serene and lovely to spend time there. Tanzie was great a communicating before the trip as well as during the trip. She is a gem and really great host. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time to spend there! If you want a quiet place to spend time,with the convenience of town a few minutes away, book now!

Relaxing!

Arrived early and we were told to go ahead and go in. We had a great time and it was very relaxing. The 3 decks on the river were great. There’s a few boards on the bottom deck that could probably use some work but we weren’t disappointed in the stay. We forgot some food in the refrigerator and texted Tanzie about it and she was very nice about it. Would stay there again if we were in the area.

Comfortable riverfront getaway

The place has its quirks, but it’s very clean and cozy and quite restful, with lots of spaces to relax indoors and out. Very convenient to town, with nice neighbors and lots of wildlife to enjoy.

Anniversary trip

The Rock River Hideaway was a great river house to stay in for our 35th anniversary. Clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we had bad weather and it was hard to enjoy the deck and river watch. Town is very close for supplies. Everything was great. Host was very responsive via text.

Hit the spot for our couples getaway

We (2 person couple) really enjoyed this cabin. We fished from the deck and did have some luck. Beautiful scenic and quiet location. The near by towns had need shops and cafes. Check in was very easy and all questions were answered quickly. The 'bugs' come and go with the current (as is waterfront life). Beds were cozy and the cabin was clean. We are keeping this place on our list for the future!

Girls Weekend

This was the perfect spot to have our girls weekend getaway. The deck and view were amazing. We had a great time and had everything we needed. Although there was no WIFI it was great to get everyone off the grid.

The porch!

We were in the area to visit with my mom a few days. She is in long term care, and visits can sometimes be emotional. We wanted a relaxing place to come back to at night, and this property fit the bill. We knew the weather would be cooler, so we really loved that we could still get a great view of the river sitting on the porch. We enjoyed meals there. This property was very clean, and beds and couches were comfortable.

5 star experience!

Tanzie was amazing. She was so communicative and prompt to answer any questions. The place was so much better then I imagined and was perfect for our girls trip. The place is right on the lake and a 5 minute drive from some of the coolest hikes and natural parks. You can also sit outside and see the stars. Everything we needed was provided in the house. Will definitely be back.

Very nice

People complaining about bugs on the water are the same people that complain about sand on the beach. If you don’t want to relax and unplug this place is not for you. We were very happy with the property relaxing and peaceful and very clean.

Gorgeous and peaceful

This was a lovely place. We loved just sitting on the deck and watching the river, while sipping our wine. I did have work to do and should have asked about the cell service, so I could get a hotspot (which I could not) but there were nice places in town with WiFi, so it worked out. I recommend this adorable place... just check in and chill!
