The Giggle Fish~Beachfront- Pet Friendly Hood Canal Getaway

Welcome to Giggle Fish on Hood Canal! Our waterfront beach home is the ideal place to relax and take in the peaceful views of Hood Canal. With three bedrooms, it comfortably accommodates six people. Our property is fenced all the way around and is pet friendly. There are many places to relax, inside and out. With decks off both the beach cabin and the boat house, you can find both sun and shade during the summer months. The outdoor area offers plenty of seating, a fire pit, a lawn for playing, and easy access to the beach. In the winter months, the inside area is a cozy spot for relaxation. Play a board game, read a book, or cook a nice meal in our well appointed kitchen. From all the windows, you’ll enjoy watching the various wildlife from bald eagles, herons and other seabirds, to seals, sea lions, and even the occasional whale.

Just north of the town of Hoodsport, our location offers quick access to grocery and restaurant options as well as plenty of outdoor activities. There is wonderful hiking throughout the Olympic National Forest and at nearby lakes. Hoodsport is a scuba diving paradise, as we are very close to Sund Rock Marine Preserve. A short drive north brings you to Hama Hama Oyster Saloon, a fun place to enjoy outdoor dining on local eats, or to purchase local shellfish. There are also golf courses and casinos nearby. Of course once you walk through the gate of the property, you may not want to leave!
*Please note that there is parking for 2 cars. Parking is between the fenced yard and Highway 101, and is narrow. *

We loved our stay here and felt like we were on a boat it’s so close to the water. We saw many seals, herons, salmon, and enjoyed looking out the large windows and hanging out on the large deck. The kitchen has everything you could want. Everything was clean and comfortable. We will be back!

So relaxing

The view from every room was spectacular! Spent most of the time on the huge deck where we saw a bald eagle the first morning. Also saw orcas and sea lions. And stargazing was amazing. We had plenty of room for our family of five and bonus was the incredible fenced yard so we felt very comfortable letting our two dogs roam, which they absolutely loved. Plus there was a scooper and hose for messes in the yard. Loved the bonus boat house bedroom and access to the beach. The road was pretty busy on the weekend but the sound gets muffled by the sounds of the water. Great little town with grocery store nearby and excellent hamburger/teriyaki/ice cream place and the best little pizza place just a mile or so up the road. Checkin was easy, beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked, and did I mention the view!! Hoping to make this an annual vacay. Already miss having coffee on the deck staring at the water.

Comfy Waterfront Stay

This is a true waterfront property with beach access. The main house has everything you need for a great stay. Comfortable furniture inside and out. 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs and a big open kitchen, dining and living space plus full bathroom downstairs. Dining and grill outside as well. The small cabin has a full bathroom and bedroom. Close to town.

Nice house noisy location

The house is very attractive and well equipped with a lovely deck overllooking the water. Unfortunately it is on a really busy road with big trucks constantly passing starting from quite early in the morning. We arrived in pouring rain and did not have the access code as it had been sent to the wrong email, and the VRBO communication function was not working so had to call several times to reach the agent to get the code. There were problems with the water supply to the surrounding houses and our water was turned off while the neighbours tried to fix things, which was ok as we went out so they could complete. The agent kindly offered to bring extra water but we said we did not need but appreciated the offer. Communication on departure was also disappointing the booklet in the house said vacate by 12pm and the app with our booking details said depart by 11am - we rang 3 times and spoke to the person at the agency who had no information and said she would speak to the correct person and confirm, we never received a call back so left by 11am leaving the house tidy as requested. Our overall view is that we liked the house but the location was not as good as we had hoped due to noise We did visit laske cushon in the nearby state park and found a lovely restaurant in a hotel in Union which was nice as we were there for my birthday and there was very little choice in Hoodsport unless you wanted basic pub food.

Exceeded Expectations

This place was a gem! Our portion of the beach was larger than I was expecting and the fenced in yard was perfect for our kiddo and pup. The house had everything we needed and although we ended up not needing the boathouse, I thought the addition of that space was great. The road noise was definitely a thing but it wouldn't detour me from renting this property again.

long overdue vacation time!

My husband and I had not had a vacation in over 5 years. We were so overdue to relax and have a place that we could take our dog. This was it! The yard is so secure that I never once worried about him. The spectacular views were something else. My favorite part was being able to listen to the waves and smell the fresh salt air. This was extremely hard to leave at the end of our vacation. A definite do over.

Great water views and access.

This is probably the best house near Hoodsport. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog, and to play lawn games while looking over the water. At high tide its a breeze to get your paddle boards or kayaks (bring your own) into the water. Yes you hear the traffic, but there is no other option if you want to be on the water, as all water front houses here are on route 101. There was a nice new large grill, and well stocked kitchen. We had a lovely time!

Fourth of July 2022

We really enjoyed our stay at Giggle Fish. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was fully equipped and they even had bags for the dogs deposits in the yard. The beds were very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to possibly have a small air conditioner in the upstairs bedrooms because they tend to be pretty hot in the warm weather.

A peaceful relaxing get away in a wonderful house with spectacular views

Accessing the property was very easy and Jolene was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The house has everything you need and was so clean, warm, inviting, and comfortable. The views were incredible and we loved the fenced large yard for our pup and the fire pit outside to enjoy in the evenings. The beds were super cozy and comfortable. Can't wait to go back!

Loved staying at Giggle fish. The location was perfect for a family vacation. Enjoyed the wildlife from the deck, hiking Mt Eleanor and staircases and the brewery. The house had everything—well stocked and very clean!!

Wonderful house!

Really a great house that’s fully stocked with everything you’ll need. Waterfront access, fully fenced yard and huge deck really made it special. Also about 5 mins drive to town where there’s grocery store, restraunts and bars. 20 minute drive to Lake Cushman (highly recommend). We had a wonderful time and would stay here again!

Great Time

The property was beautiful and set up well for dogs. Our party of women had a great time at the property celebrating our friends 60th birthday. The upstairs bedrooms were hot, but we quickly figured out how to cool it down. It might be really warm in the summer time. It was beautiful, we saw all kinds of wild life. It was fun!

Relaxing

My husband has been going through chemotherapy and the Giggle Fish was the perfect place to get away, relax and try and forget about things for awhile. We both agree that just watching the tide come and go was good for the soul. The Giggle Fish is relaxing, has charm and everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Its clean and the living room is cozy and comfortable. We hope to be back and stay in the future!

If I had a dream home, this is it!

Absolutely gorgeous! Right on the water where we had beach access and SCUBA dived right off the property. Came back and hung our gear on the fences and railings for it to dry and there was no wind to knock things around. We went inside and played board games and made dinner--it was awesome! The next night (after we dived at Sund Rock), we came home and had a nice little bonfire. We watched the sunset and roasted smores. The property was clean, well-furnished, and was an absolute paradise!
