Wake up to the soulful trill of the Tui's in the Coral and Pohutukawa trees surrounding the house. A territorial Kingfisher keeps tabs on all of the goings on, magical to see!
The soothing thrum of the ocean is a peaceful reminder to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind while you drink in the beauty of New Zealand's most beautiful beach. Open the bifold doors and windows to allow the flow of nature to nurture your soul. Our home has been designed with a view for ALL to enjoy. We take pride that the downstairs living plan and bathroom are wheelchair friendly. The other three upstairs bedrooms command majestic views of Whale and White Island. Our home is uniquely situated to indulge in whatever your vacation plans may include. A 10 minute walk takes you down the beach to dine at a selection of great local eateries. A Dairy and 4 Square Grocery Store are all within a short stroll. Sit out on the spacious raised deck and bask in a sensational Ohope sunset while barbequing. Swim in the tepid waters right out front, take a surfboard, bodyboard or kayak out for a spin. Or venture out on a hike where you're treated to uninterrupted views of our pristine coastline while being escorted along by cheeky Fantails and other native birds acting as guides on your own personal journey of self discovery to, wherever! If fishing is your thing, there are several local companies that can indulge your whims. Bring your catch home and fillet them out back where there is a place designed just for this. Come stay, play and make memories to last a lifetime!

We have nurtured our sand dunes out front. They are essential to keeping our coastlines healthy. Please respect the dunes and only walk on the trail.
We have an outside hot shower by the washing line. Make use of this before entering the house through the Laundry Door if you've been in the ocean.
Please wash off feet/bodies before entering spa pool. Sand in the hot tub is NOT fun to remove. using the outside taps/showers.

Superb location

We had a fantastic family holiday. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom was excellent for my elderly parents. Our adult children loved being right next to the beach and the surf. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed the outdoor area and BBQ.

The best extended family escape

The easiest and most relaxing get away we have had together. Janis was a gem and the house had everything we needed. Swam every day. Used the kayaks. Spa was always a lovely way to end a swim. Especially on the rainy days. Will definitely aim to come back.

Beautiful Ohope

We had a lovely time staying here. There is plenty of space indoors and out and the location is fantastic. Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and plenty for the kids (and grown-ups) to do. The photos on Book a Bach don't really do the place justice.

A much needed getaway in the right place

We had a lovely stay here at Ohope. The hosts were very welcoming and communicated effciently with us, even to keep us informed of any weather changes. The view and beach access is one of the best out there. Nice place to catch up with old friends. Thankyou Janice & Hubby

A fabulous home in an idyllic spot - you really couldn't get any better! The home was spacious and well appointed The owner and property manager were lovely to deal with too. Would highly recommend this holiday home and hope to stay again myself :)

Totally Awesome Beach Stay!

This beach-side property was so very easy for we seven friends to move into, it was a home away from home. One of us was wheelchair bound so the ground floor living and dining areas leading out to the awesome deck adjacent to the beach was totally wheelchair friendly, not to mention the wheelchair friendly bathroom facilities. This place took us back to our beach-side holiday recalls, from childhood perhaps, was everything we all imagined this place to be, all expectations met. Beach walks a step away. Local eateries so close! Really comfortable beds, modern kitchen, amenities galore. Private, flora and fauna and bird life did not disappoint! I could say so much more but am meant to keep this review brief!

We will book again!

Beautiful location, ample space for our large group. Great family friendly house. So much room for parking. The house manager was wonderful with communication and on hand if I had any questions. Unfortunately the spa wasn't working, the manager did offer her husband to have a look which I declined. Otherwise couldn't fault anything else. Even though neighboring homes are close by we had an unusual sense of privacy. What a lovely home away from home.

Great experience

We had such a lovely time in this amazing home. You couldn't get a better location. This home met all our family needs and catered for the different age groups. It was a real privilege to stay here. A big thank you to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise , also to Janis who added some extra special treats, the Easter eggs went down well with not only the children but the adults also. Communication was excellent which made our stay stress free. Would love for this place to be our families annual get together. Thanks again

Location, Water Toys, Space!!

Fantastic Property, walking distance to 4 square, cafes, parks. Its literally on the beach! great flow to the house with everything we needed and more. The kayaks and Bodyboards were a bonus along with the spa and Trampoline. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Paradise from the moment you walk in the door

From the moment we booked until we left everything was flawless. Our stay was the most relaxing we have had in many years. The property was clean, tidy with everything you could want to just settle in and be at peace in an often chaotic crazy world. We can’t speak highly enough of our time at this property, we will be back. P.S - the photos don’t show how amazing the beachfront environment is, you have to experience it yourself to believe it!

Amazing stay in a great house!

We had such a wonderful holiday at this house. Perfect location and the house is great! So functional for a family with a large variety of needs. the outside living is fantastic and so much room for the kids to run around. Perfect beach front location. We had an amazing, seamless stay with brilliant property managers, we felt very well looked after. Thanks again for such a great stay!

Location was good but definitely needs pest control.

Location and views were good, house had all that we need but was full of fleas in the bed, cockroaches around the windows, few uncleaned spaces in the lounge area where we spotted spider webs and spiders crawling behind the lounge. Our kids and some adults had lots of itchy bites around trunk areas of the body and face too.🙁 They definitely need to sort that out ☹️

Unbeleivable

This place is my dream retirement family beach home. The owners have exceeded expectations with providing what is needed to ensure a memorable holiday. Wake up to the sound of the ocean, along with every window you look out of, has ocean views. Lots of room for family to spread out, and enjoy every aspect of this little paradise. This is our no1 holiday place and will definately be returning regulars. AAAAA++
