Marsh-View Oasis: 2-Min Easy Walk to Beach,Covered Decks, Outdoor Shower

  • Escape to Oak Island's tranquil shores at The Hammock House, newly renovated in 2020. This 2-bed, 2-bath haven amidst picturesque marshlands offers breathtaking views and ocean waves nearby. Relax in backyard hammocks amidst rustling marsh grass. With two porches, including a covered front one, and an outdoor shower, enjoy sun-kissed beach adventures with paddle boards, kayaks, beach games, and a basketball hoop just a 2-minute stroll away. Perfect for serene retreats or adventure getaways.

    The space -
    Kitchen is stocked with essentials (yes, there is a waffle maker), lovely marsh view off the kitchen. Dining table seats 6 inside and our outdoor table seats 6 outside. The sectional is super comfy and folds out into a queen bed if you need extra sleeping space. There is HDTV + Chromecast to stream your favorite entertainment. High-speed internet to make the streaming happen. The master bedroom includes a King bed and a bathroom with walk-in shower. Second bedroom includes a twin over full bunk bed and additional rollaway bed. Guest bathroom has a "kid-friendly" tub. All rooms have ceiling fans and shades in case you want to sleep-in.

    We will provide linens and towels. We will have some beach towels but please bring your own as well just in case.

    The outside spaces are lovely. There is a covered front deck where you can get out of the sun but still keep your eyes towards the beach. This comes with chairs and tables to relax. The back deck is off the kitchen area and has a bistro set to enjoy your coffee in the morning or your margaritas at sunset.

    Downstairs there is a 2 car garage to store bikes, your car, and other beach essentials you bring. ((We will provide some beach toys, umbrella, and chairs)). The garage is also where you have access to a washer and dryer. The backyard and back patio has two hammocks, a table with 6 chairs and the Caribbean "hook" game. The back patio area is also covered. The yard is a great place to let the kids run around (soccer goals in the garage) or for you to set-up the corn hole boards. We hope you love it like we do.

    Guest access -
    The house comes with a two car garage and also allows for two additional cars parked in the driveway. You can get to the beach on foot in a 2 min walk. We are off Middleton so easy access to town, stores and shops.

    Extras -
    Extras - Ice Shake is two blocks away to fill your cooler, next to the Beach Pantry.
    Linens (Full, Twin, King) and towels (bath not beach towels) are provided. No need to rent.
    Linens are provided for the bunk (full and twin) and the king. If you need the rollaway and queen pullout couch please bring your own sheets.

We had a great stay. House was very clean with a lot of attention to detail. Even had a basket with a few drinks and snacks when we arrived. Easy walk to the beach with chairs and wagon provided. We will definitely stay here again.

This is just a magical little blue cottage. We loved every detail. The marsh was an incredible surprise - what a peaceful location. Oak Island has become our favorite beach and we are grateful to have found this perfect location for our family. The host was extra accommodating and we look forward to our next visit.

Great vacation home!

This was our first time in Oak Island. This house was perfect for our one week stay. It is so convenient to everything (shops, grocery, restaurants and of course the beach!). The 2 min walk to the ocean was no problem! The house has everything you need for a awesome vacation. We will be back!

Lovely getaway

We so enjoyed our return trip to hammock house. It’s the perfect getaway for our family! Being on the marsh gives lots of privacy and tranquility while being just a few short steps to the beach! The house is bright and clean and provides everything necessary for a relaxing time away. We will be returning for sure!!

Everything was seamless! We had no concerns regarding where we stayed. Everything we could have needed was included. It is located on an incredibly quiet and relaxing part of the beach. We will consider staying here again next time!

Our family had a great long weekend at the Hammock House. The place was as advertised, updated, super clean, well-stocked, and just perfect for our family of 5. The beach is literally a 2-minute walk away. The owner was super responsive and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Perfect Vacation

We enjoyed our stay so much. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. It was perfect for us adults and the kids. The view from the kitchen window was beautiful over the marsh. We also loved the back yard with the hammocks and our kids could play in the yard. The walk to the beach was short and easy. This house is a 10/10.

Beach vacation

If I could give this property more than 5 stars I would. Check in was seamless, the house is charming and well maintained. 2 short blocks to the beach, which is on the quiet west end of the island. Communication with the owner was excellent. Highly recommended!

Perfect spot for relaxing beach week

Second time staying in this house. It is the perfect size for our family of 4! Quiet area, and a very short walk to the beach access, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and all the gear you need to enjoy your days on the beach. The porches on front and back are a lovely place to take a break from the sun. We will be back!
