Wonderful property on the beach with beautiful views! Everything was sparkling clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for our large group.

Awesome weekend

House was very nice and very accommodating to our needs. The views from the living room and dining room were beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. There was a little issue with the AC on the second floor. A very nice day.

Great house in a great location!

This beach house was perfect for our family and friends getaway! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and plenty of linens for each room. The kitchen and family room had plenty of seating for our family to enjoy meals, playing games, and hanging out together. The location was great, just a few steps to the beach! The elevator was a huge help for the person in our group with a broken foot. I highly recommend this home!

Lovely October visit, few hiccups

Overall good experience. There are some small roaches around the property. The fridge and the pool were malfunctioning during our stay but the rental property came and fixed those in a timely manner. Great deck!!!!

Beach stay

We loved the house and the location. The stove didn’t work however. The property management was so rude we would never rent from them again. We were given wrong check in address and code so checked in only to have someone else show up We panicked and called better beach to sort out and were treated like we had done something wrong. Love the house overall but won’t rent through this company again. We thought we were renting from the owners and there are some differences between renting from the owners and renting from this company. Check out was 10 am and they don’t let u know until the day of if u can check in at 4/00. Could be as late as 6:00.

Disappointed

This county of NC has toxic water levels in the water system. When I learned of the water problem, I contacted the host to ask if the house had a water filtration system. I asked two times in writing, and the host never got back to me with the answer. (Btw, there is no water filter on the house!). We were given the wrong address for the house in our arrival instructions. We contacted the rental company and they gave us the correct address, however, informed us that we couldn’t occupy the house until after 6 PM because it was still being cleaned (btw, it's in the agreement that they can go as late as 6 PM to check-in). The home was extremely disappointing. There was black mold above the sliding doors in the kitchen, the windows were filthy and dirty, and the pool was full of sand (it cost $$ if you want it cleaned). There was frozen and melted ice in the bottom of the freezer, and the frying pans and cooking sheets were unusable. Remotes all needed batteries, no instructions for operating TVs. The floors also hadn’t been mopped in a long time. (All of us running around the house barefoot the first night had black feet, gross!) I don’t know who owns the house (if it is a private owner or owned by an investment company), but please occupy your own rental property once in a while and you’ll see all the problems you need to fix. And if you care about the health of your patrons, put in a water filtration system for the house, and get rid of the black mold!

Mostly great

Communication prior to our stay was a little frustratingly slow at times, I had a few questions and reached out through VRBO and it took a while to get a response, though we did eventually get responses. The house was great, as expected. The pool heater was not working when we arrived, but I called and they sent someone very promptly and got it fixed. The Wifi was also not working when we first arrived, but that was resolved quickly as well. The living/common space was a little smaller than we hoped, but it was good enough for a fairly large party (10 adults, 7 children) to enjoy (the 2 diningroom tables was so great - it was one of the key reasons we booked this house over alternatives). We did also let them know that the dryer was not working as expected - it would never stop if you put on the self-dry cycle - we accidentally ran a dryer load for like 10 hours overnight not realizing it would run continuously - yikes. Hopefully this gets resolved prior to another renter - as this is a fire risk. So - although things were fixed, it was probably more repair issues than you'd expect at your beach rental. The dining needs (plates, cups, silverware) left a little to be desired - we needed plastic silverware to have enough. Though, there did seem to be pretty good coverage for cooking (pots, pans, knives, cutting board, etc). We were also fairly unimpressed with the quality of the sheets/towels - pretty cheap/worn fabric - but not bad enough that it was a serious issue - just...would have been nice to have nicer stuff. The pool was great! Its a little small but was perfect for our group with lots of little kids. The heater was great, spending lots of time in there in November. The lounge area around the pool is very small - but this was something we really appreciated with lots of little kids, it was easy to bar access for to put everyone's mind at ease. There is a gate around the pool with a high latch to open it, we spent a lot of time in there! (it was a little expensive for this add on- being about $100/day, so not sure it was "worth it", but we definitely enjoyed it. Lots of parking, Publix is 1 mile away, beach was excellent - overall it was a great stay!

Thanksgiving 2021

Let me start off by saying the house is as pictured, great location & easy check in/out process. We even had brand new living room furniture, rugs and lamps delivered and setup right before our stay. Overall we loved our stay at 7 Palms. I would like to use this forum to voice a bit of disappointment in the up-keeping of the home. For a 2 year old home there is already “wear and tear” which is sad because the house is beautiful. Scuffs on nearly every wall. Kitchen baseboards are very dirty. Fixtures like lighting, door knobs, basically anything metal/zinc is already starting to corrode. WiFi is spotty at best. The only tv worth watching is the main box in the living room. All bedroom tvs require WiFi and apps - again, spotty at best for getting through a whole show/game. I would encourage the management and/or owners to increase their maintenance efforts. It would be a shame for this house to continue to move in the wrong direction. I’ll finish by reiterating our overall stay and the home was great - just honest opinion for improvement to keep this home a vacation getaway!

Family vacay

The layout for this house was really great. Great kitchen and great dining area. Our group was somewhat larger and sleeping arrangements were very good. At first I was disappointed at the size of the pool and it did not have a seating area around it for chaise lounges. It was great for floaties and the view of the ocean was great, but would prefer a pool with more room to congregate.. The towels were old and sparse and I realize they wash the sheets and pillowcases but how about comforters??? I dropped something under the dresser and it was full of dust and hair under floor. Need to pull out furniture… the age of the cleaning girls looked about preteen with one older lady…... it was do-able.. Garbage pick up was horrid.. They picked up Saturday and that was the last we seen them all week.. a man pulled our cans out and no one collected it when we left Saturday morning. It smelled awful snd if I lived across the road, I would have been furious!! Not property owners fault but city needs to step up their game!!!! All in all very good and loved double refrigerator.. Need beach chairs and bottom area is a bit trashy.. Drains need to be looked at in kitchen and bathrooms…. Very nice for larger groups like ours

The house and the location were all excellent. The pool area is limited because the fencing is right up against the pool on 3 sides with no room to sit on edge. THe elevator would have been great but it stopped working on day 2 of my trip. It was Friday night that I left a message with the management company with no response. We still loved our trip.

Drama in Booking and Bad Bugs!

The property is ocean front which is nice. The house is cute and spacious. However, there was ridiculous drama in trying to book the stay. My card got charged twice. Having one charged removed was outlandishly, incredibly, difficult because they didn't feel it should be removed. Who would book the same dates for the same place and pay twice intentionally, if it were not inadvertently a mistake? I made that mistake because it did not show up in my profile as having been booked the first time around. So, I called Vrbo and the rep. said, "Book again." When I asked them to cancel one booking, a member from management replied, "well you knew what you were doing when you hit submit." I think you get the picture... It lent a SUPER BAD first impression of Vrbo. I am not sure I every want to book with them again. The communication is not good. And what is worse, is the customer service (friendliness towards their customers was HORRIBLE! - You can forget the customer first motto.) Lastly, while there we killed two large roaches. I had rather choose a more hassle-free place to stay.

Fabulous house in an amazing location!!

We spent our COVID Christmas week in this house. Absolutely breathtaking views. The bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was spacious. Lots of table room. We just loved the beach! Oak Island is very quiet, but that was perfect. A few negatives.... The property management company didn’t reply to any inquires through the app. It was all fine and they sent lots of emails about check in and such, but don’t think about asking questions beforehand, it is a pretty new house, so it doesn’t quite have everything you need yet... a set of plastic or acrylic cups for the back or pool area would be great (bring them yourself). The floors were not nearly as clean as we would have liked when we got there. There was some broken glass on the living room floor and on the stairs. There was one lonely broom (I’m guessing a guest bought it to fight the amount of sand families bring in!) but there was no dust pan to pick the sand and glass up with. There were 3 puzzles, so bring your own rainy day games and such. There was nothing else. Each room had a smart tc, but some of the remotes were broken. I wouldn’t count on them all working. The wifi was a bit spotty, but I think that’s true just about everywhere, Anyway, great location and a lovely house!

Easy contact and kept up to date with text reminders about check in and check out. We were missing one set of King sheets, contacted housekeeping left message, never returned call or delivered linens. We adapted.

Oak island vacation!!

The house was comfortable and clean, quiet during our stay ! The elevator had a glitch but the guy was there right away to fix our issue and told us to call if we had any more issues !! There was plenty of parking spaces for everyone !! We had a family dinner and we all cooked !! I'll be sure and rent it again when we stay in september !! Thank you anne for all your help and guidence !! @ better beach rentals !!

Weekend get away

Overall good experience. Would have thought there would be start up supplies available, i.e. toilet paper, dish soap etc. Also thought it odd that you have to put up dishes before leaving. More towels would have been nice. House has a great location. Good space for large groups.

House was lovely

We loved the house but have a list of issues that are correctable. Checked in at 4:30 because house was not ready. Toilet in upstairs bathroom was clogged. Bedroom on main floor with bunk beds. - went to go to bed and it had sand from previous tenant Floors were sandy when we arrived and we had to call for a broom. Cleaned them ourselves. First floor full bath has a moldy shower curtain Checkout day - Cleaning people arrived at 9:00 and said “hey, don’t want to bother y’all but are you leaving soon”. We were all just sitting on the couch leaving at 10. However, cleaning people were very nice. I have to say the staff were all very polite and dealt with issues immediately. Recommendation- Make cleaning supplies available in the home. (Vacuum cleaner, dust pan, and broom). I feel Like most people would gladly use them.

Overall a Great Experience!

Would have just liked a little more info on what we were required to bring. Also the unit was great but the cleaning left something to be desired.

Christmas on the Beach

The house was beautiful. right on the water. The area don't have much to offer this time of year. I suggest for the owner to have more suggestions about the area and things to do. More entertainment in the house will be great also.

Nicely furnished, great views.

house is nicely furnished and has excellent views. The pool / deck area is very small, particularly compared to the size of house. I would have given 4 stars except the house was not clean when we arrived. (we waited to receive the text that it was ready) the upstairs bathrooms were dirty, kitchen counter sticky and full of crumbs a pile of dirty rags in the sink. We called and the cleaning crew did come back and do some cleaning. The windows were filthy. they did not clean them. I would go again - hopefully this was just a one-off issue with the cleaning crew.

Seven Palms at Oak Island

Beautiful setting in great location. A few things were not as expected. There were no window coverings in much of the home, no walk off mats at the door ways to remove sand. No cleaning supplies or utensils to allow us to clean and maintain the house removing sand at etcetera the house does not readily accommodate more than 16 people comfortably. Two of the rooms were outfitted with bunk bed accommodations that were really unusable in their current configuration. To many beds in too little space.
