Fisherman's Cabin on the Bay

This charming 1950's era home sits directly on the water of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.
It's a single story, 3 bedroom/1 bath home that is located on the ground floor with no stairs to negotiate.
If you love being on the water, you will love this charming home. Our Bay is populated with water fowl, seagulls, ducks and geese - perfect for those wanting to reconnect with nature. This home is surrounded by large trees and bushes, giving it a very private feel.
Our Master Bedroom features a Queen size bed. We've also installed a twin bed for those needing additional sleeping capacity.
The second bedroom also features a Queen size bed. The third bedroom, or kids room, features two twin size beds.

Parking is located just a few feet from the entryway.

There's one full bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower. We have plenty of off street parking in this secluded semi-private property just outside your front door.

Come enjoy the solitude and the most beautiful sunset views ever!

We are located just a block from the marina, so this is perfect for those who want to launch their boat. And just a couple of blocks from the Beautiful sandy beaches of the Bay - the beach access has abundant parking as well.

We are pet friendly with plenty of room to allow your little friends to run and play! This set up is perfect for your 4 legged friends - with tile floors, don't worry about the sand that is sure to follow you in. Clean up is a breeze. Fall asleep listening to the gentle waves of the Chesapeake Bay. And let the cool breeze blow away the present day stress! Join us with a small step back in time as you enjoy our Charming Waterfront Cabin situated right on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay!

We have a Charcoal Grill available for you culinary delight! We have a wood burning Fireplace - please bring your own wood.

For your relaxing evening entertainment, there is a large 65" Smart TV with high speed WiFi for your streaming TV service.

FYI, it is an older home with the flaws and character you would expect of an 80 year old house. As such, this may not be the perfect home for everyone. We still have the single pane windows, a wood burning fire place and some of the older plumbing and fixtures. We do not offer perfection, but a comfortable place to enjoy nature and the Bay Beaches while you make wonderful family memories!

** PLEASE PAY ATTENTION - this unit is for family units ONLY! No Parties are allowed or tolerated. We live next door to this unit and will immediately cancel and evict anything resembling a party - No "Get Togethers" - No "Inviting a few friends" - No "Cookouts" - No "friends stopping by for a visit" - No "Wakes" - No "Funerals" - No "Birthday Parties"!!!!
All cancellations like this will include forfeiture of all payments and security deposits - NO EXCEPTIONS! **

Perfect for us!

We loved the house, very charming and comfortable. We actually really liked that it was an older house rather than a newly built vacation unit, it felt so homey. Owners were wonderful, had zero issues. Would definitely rent it again!

Nice house in a quiet spot. Lovely view.

It was so nice to be able to go back to a house. Beds were great. House was clean. There s a beach a couple blocks from the house that is nice. No waves for the boogie board but it was peaceful and not crowded.

Not the best experience

Our stay started off good. Woke up in the morning to an ant infestation in the kitchen and living room. Contacted owner who was responsive. While waiting for someone to come deal with the ants we found 2 roaches. When the guy showed up for the ants we told him about the roaches and he wasn’t interested in seeing them or dealing with them. I messaged the owner about us leaving due to the roaches and asked for a refund. It is 2 days later and still no response. I definitely would not stay at this property again.

A wonderful gem in Virginia Beach

My friends and were in Virginia Beach, at a separate vrbo location, and decided, last-minute, to book a new place for a couple of days. While the first place we stayed at was just fine, it was such a treat to move locations to the Fisherman's cabin. The property is secluded amongst lovely trees, and it felt like a little private get-away, despite the fact that we were very close to the city. The hosts were prompt to respond to questions, and they were quite lovely and generous. I definitely recommend staying here, and will be on the lookout for this place when I next visit Virginia Beach.

Quiet family time

The cottage was an older but well kept home tight on the bay. Walking distance to the beach and boat dock. Neighbors were super friendly. We enjoyed seeing the sail boats on the bay in front of the house.

Cozy cabin on the waterfront

Everything was perfect. The place was clean, well decorated and had many of the needed supplies. Plenty of parking with a bit of isolation for privacy. Did not see the property owners as Everything went very well.

Charming cottage

Very nice cottage with a few minor details of improvement. The bedroom with two twin beds smells of garage. Might want to consider moving the outdoor trash bins. Overall we loved it!

Great private spot to just rest.

We loved the quiet and the water is really right outside your door. Grass had not been cut in awhile it was over ankle high. But that was our only concern. This is a great place to read think and quiet. Wish their were other things to do in Norfolk. We definitely will return.

Wished for More

Communication with the property owner was easy with quick responses. The property was a nice setting with privacy even with close neighbors. Willoughby Bay was in full view of the cottage with easy access to the ocean front nearby. It was difficult to find the address in the dark. The kitchen had bare minimum dishes and utensils with no condiments or dish towels. There was only one roll of toilet paper for the weekend and minimum f towels and bed linens.

Will definitely comeback!

Great stay, couldn’t get any closer to the water. We liked it so much we payed to stay a little longer. There were a couple times where we had random people just standing in our yard, and a car that pulled up with two people, sat there and stared at us for a while. Other than that,it was a nice getaway!

On the bay and pet friendly

This bay waterfront property was great for our fur babies. We loved watching the Navy teams train in the bay right in front of the property. The highway noise was a little distracting when sitting outside. The older house is large enough so that 5 adults and two dogs could comfortably be together. The short walk to the beach was fine.The beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen had limited basics. Towels were great. It is a waterfront property, so expect a few extra insects which the owners are definitely trying to control.

Disgusting property

There were huge spiders and webs right at the door. The odor that hits you when you open the door makes you gag. There was trash in the trash can and somebody’s opened drink in the fridge. Bugs were crawling and flying around, but the worst part was the mouse droppings on beds and we actually saw at least one mouse and recorded it for proof before we packed up our 3 small children and our belongings in the middle of the night to find refuge at a hotel. The owners made excuses about “nature belongs in nature” for the lack of upkeep. It is definitely not worth any price I’ve seen it listed for on here. We arrived after 10pm and left around 2am, making the property owner aware of things as they transpired. It was not cheap to book this so-called “charming cabin”, and I didn’t even receive half of what I paid out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GROSS MONEY TRAP!!!!

This home was a great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay and was sorry it was cut short. We will definitely be checking it out again in the near future. The home was warm, accommodating and has beautiful views. The view was beautiful & so was the home but they don’t have exactly everything that was stated.

We had a good time but the main reason why we got the place was because they offered a boat & two water waves which we were never told that they infact don’t till we were already there.
