Nestled in the woods. Two-bedrooms, sleeps five. Just a few steps to the lake shore. Fishing and water sports. Washer and dryer (new addition May 2025). Air conditioning and furnace. Open living, kitchen and dining space. 60" flat screen TV with internet and streaming options. Two small decks, charcoal and gas grill, outdoor table and a picnic table. Portable wood fire pit and a fire ring located close to the beach, firewood. 3 kayaks, dock, sandy beach & shallow swim area. Pet friendly.

18-minute drive to Nevis, MN. Nevis offers restaurant and bar establishments and some shopping options. As well as access to the Heartland trail: the area's most popular walking and biking trail. Less than an hour drive to Itasca State Park. Many other biking, hiking and ATV options in the area.

Come to relax or enjoy one of the many activities this area has to offer. Come for the peace and calm of beautiful Minnesota evening, as you listen to loons while sitting around a crackling fire, under a canopy of more stars than you can imagine. Good location and it was awesome to have jayk’s we could use and a grill with charcoal. Kitchen tools were stocked well. Also included beach towels. We were able to bring our 2 dogs also.

Honestly not at all what I expected. The “cabin” is a circa 1970s trailer that has not been updated. Although seemingly clean, the mice running around in the ceiling made it very hard to sleep, not to mention the overwhelming musty odor. Linens were cheap and the mattresses were old. The lawn was nice and well taken care of but the lake is far from swimmable. Very very weedy and lots of algae. The lot does have a small dock and boat, however the boat had quite a bit of water in it and didn’t look useable. The hosts were responsive.

As advertised; clean, cozy, well appointed. The response to availabilty to electric at the dock (which was important) was replyed to quickly. As was our questiin about the furnace as the first night was pretty cool. Quiet, what we needed. Really enjoyed!

Slightly inaccurate listing

We stayed here for 3 nights. Overall, we had a nice time, but there were several things about the property that did not meet our expectations based on the listing. First, the 'cabin' is actually a modified trailer house. There is no washer or dryer inside, and the shower/bath had a broken knob that made the bathtub unusable. We were okay with just taking showers, but a family with small kids might not be. Additionally, the bedding on the queen bed smelled very musty, and holes/gaps in the windows and screens let bugs inside. Second, we are avid hikers and were disappointed to discover that none of the 'nearby trails' were useable due to swarms of bugs. Even the yard outside the cabin had not been de-bugged, so we spent much of our time indoors and had to drive 20 minutes to the nearest paved hiking trail. And third, my daughter was sad to discover that she could not swim in the 'beach' area near the dock because the water was filled with tall weeds in every direction. There was literally no clear space to swim in. We made the best of the situation and still had a good time, but I do believe that the listing is misleading. Had we known ahead of time, we would not have booked this location.

Great stay!

We stayed here for 3 nights. We spent most of our time at another resort where my extended family was staying. So we didn't really use everything (lake, firepit, etc). But it was a nice little cabin, very clean. They had pretty much everything you could need. Very pleased!

Great stay!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! This is a quiet location perfect for enjoying nature and the beauty of the lake. The cabin was extremely clean, and stocked with everything we needed. Cindy was prompt to reply to communication before and during our stay. Cindy and her husband were so welcoming and friendly and truly just want you to have a great time on your getaway! This was a very dog friendly place, our pup loved swimming off the dock and shore any chance he got! We can’t wait to come back!

Park Rapids stay

Very clean property, just remote. owners are close by, but give you much privacy. We were able to take our dog and it was a great set up for a small pet. Kayaks were available which was fun!

Wonderful

Great clean place with thoughtfully selected items from kitchen table, chairs, and very sharp knives and all necessities. Wonderful, comfortable beds, sheets and blankets. Even the door stops were classy. Very comfortable place to stay. Hope to go back again. Loved the faint distance sounds of someones roosters crowing! The hike around Waboose Lake was challenging but fun. We did it twice because of lost glasses. Saw swans with youngsters and ducks. Saw deer on the ride back and forth to cabin. Nevis is an adorable town. Nice stay.

Wonderful get away

We had a great stay at this property. We loved being right on the lake. It was furnished very comfortably & the hosts were quick with responses if we had any questions. It has a good location for visiting towns such as Nevis, Park Rapids , Walker & Itasca State Park.
