Rain in combination with fallen leaves and branches cause a strong humid smell that may affect guests with respiratory problems.* Located in the city border and inland on the "CHINCHORREO ROUTE" providing every environment our island has to offer. Facilities include fenced swimming pool, dry bar, pool table, play area, TV, Wifi, full kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, Mountain View, nearby rivers, shopping center. I live the upper level (main floor) of the rental so I will be available most of the time.

Bayamon Family House

We enjoyed staying at this Bayamon house while visiting the island. Location was excellent, and easy access into the city. There is a little bar/restaurant across the street from the house that we enjoyed several times. The host was very communicative. Only confusing part is that this is a shared space with the owners, not a whole house, as we were expecting when we arrived. The listing is for the lower space, and the owners live above in the main house. This was not an issue as they were very welcoming and allowed us to use their washer and dryer. The pool was in good condition and enjoyed by everyone.

A Great View

The view was absolutely beautiful. The property had so much Potential. It did need Updating. When something went wrong, they did come down right away. Yes there were bugs But You are Practically Staying in the woods so of course there will be bugs. While we were there The whole island lost electricity. But since our place was on solar, we didn't have too much Of an issue. We did not like that the forth bedroom was separate from the house, but we made due.

Not a 10 but would do it again...

I'll start by saying that depending on what you're looking for and how you adjust to things will determine how you feel about this place. The property is not new so if you're looking for a contemporary "shiny" and "fancy" vacation home, this isn't for you. There is a smell but I believe Jose gives fair warning in the property summary. The property is located in the mountains and there is moisture in the air so it's probably hard to permanently kill the smell. We purchased some Lysol and lit incense and candles as we enjoyed the amenities. That worked for us. Anything we didn't use we left for the next family hoping it will help them have a more enjoyable stay. There was a ball missing at the pool table but we still had fun playing on the pool table and swimming in the pool while listening to music we hooked up to the big speaker outside that was provided and eating pizza from the pizza truck up the road. The property is located about 40 minutes from Old San Juan. We enjoyed driving around and then coming back to the calm and relaxing place. The little frogs (I think they're called coqui) coming out of the drain of the bathroom by the entertainment area scared some family members but that's nature! Lol. The purpose of our trip was to visit Puerto Rico for the first time as a family to celebrate life and that we did. In summary, if you're looking for a low key place that is away from the hustle and bustle that has a scenic view, you should have a good time here. :)

Infested with bugs

This property is old, outdated, and infested with bugs. The pictures are not a true representation of what is advertised. The owner gave us a gallon of bug repellant to spray the house ourselves after we informed him that there were bugs everywhere. There were ants, roaches, and huge spiders and it was scary for my young kids. They ended up having allergic reactions. The owner did not want to refund us.

Nice view and pool

We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed breakfast on the shaded patio. There are food trucks and a bar in walking distance and the host was very communicative. The home is well lived, but the AC in the 3 rooms worked well and we slept comfortably.

Wonderful stay, wonderful hosts

We had a wonderful time and would happily return. Host Jose and family went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We wanted to be away from touristy areas and stay in a local neighborhood and we loved it. Kids loved the pool, extra room, pool, hammock and other activities in yard.

Family Vacation

The host was very nice and accommodating. The apartment was clean and cozy. They provided all of the amenities to have a pleasurable stay. It was nice to take a dip in the pool and relax after exploring the island. Jose also was able to recommend different places take at that we’re amazing. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful views in the mountains.

This place wasn't exactly what we expected, but we enjoyed our stay overall. Located in a suburban city, you're further away from tourist attractions, but this is why we chose it. We wanted a place with mountain views and a pool to relax the last few days before we caught a flight out. This place has stunning views, a nice pool, and a fun outdoor space to relax. The house is really unique with plenty of space for a larger group. The host couple is incredibly kind, welcoming and quick to respond. We enjoyed the walk to a lovely breakfast and coffee spot each morning and the location to a number of incredible restaurants on the Ruta Gastronómica, food highway. The one complaint I had was that the place has quite a distinct musty smell, likely due to the moisture and humidity in the air. For someone who is quite sensitive to mildew, it was more difficult to sleep here and be inside with windows closed. We enjoyed our stay overall with gracious hosts and a glimpse into the more authentic areas of Puerto Rico.

Great stay!

This location was the perfect place for our family get-together! We had 3 families totaling 9 people. The pool, patio areas, and the views were definite highlights of our trip. Jose was very responsive and gave us great suggestions for places to visit. The only downside was that it would be nice to have an air conditioned common space to hang out as a group away from the heat at times but regardless it was still a great stay and we’d love to visit again. Thanks Jose for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

Very Nice

We were a family of 9 and this place was perfect. Centrally located and no more than 2 hours to each end of the island. Each day we explored somewhere new. The pool was great, nice view, pool table and even a little play area my 9 year old enjoyed. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing hosts

Jose and his wife were amazing hosts. Honestly they are what takes this 3-4 star stay to a 5 star, in my opinion. We stayed here our last 2 nights in Puerto Rico to experience more of the local culture and that is for sure what we got! Jose was above and beyond helpful, giving us great suggestions on things to do and places to eat which is exactly what we were looking for... an insider. Thanks so much!

We enjoyed our stay and host was extremely helpful. Before we arrived he sent us a listing of places to eat & things to do. They really stay out of the way and you can’t tell they are upstairs, however, if you need anything at all they respond almost immediately! They also reach out via Vrbo to see if you need anything. It is a little small but it worked for us. Comes with plates, cups, utensils, pots/ pans, seasonings. The pool was awesome, kids really enjoyed themselves playing on the swings. The view was amazing if you like the campo (fields). The only downside is the main bathroom is in the master bedroom, so if anyone needs to go in the middle of the night you have to go into the bedroom or outside to the pool bathroom. This was fine with us because it was all family but just a heads up. Also, most of the restaurants/ bars are closed in this area on Mondays, but there are places in nearby Bayamon or San Juan that are open. I do recommend this place if you want to experience the real PR life but still be close enough to tourist areas.

Authentic Puerto Rican experience

Mr. Alejandro, the property owner, was extremely helpful both before and during our stay. The property is not fancy, but it was clean and had hot water for showers! We felt safe during our stay, and found it comforting to know that the property owner was available at any time since he lives in the home above.

Marvelous Trip

We absolutely loved our stay. The pool was a big hit, the country setting and views were amazing! Jose greeted us when we got there. Our flight was delayed and we got in pretty late. He had all the lights and doors open. Very private and close to everything. Would highly recommend to those wanting an authentic Puerto Rican experience!

Relax and Enjoy!

Jose is a great host. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The pool and entertainment area was welcoming. We used the grill quite a bit and spent time in the pool, laying around in hammocks, playing pool, reading and listening to the birds. The house is off the beaten track near Naranjito. We explored the area and visited dams, waterfalls and parks. My son plays basketball and spent his afternoons down the street playing basketball at the recreation center. It was a very relaxing stay. We loved this area because it was off the beaten path and gave us downtime out of the city. We got to see areas of Puerto Rico most people don't see. It was a fun adventure. If you drive, be prepared for narrow roads with hair-pin turns and be ready to drive defensively at all times. The drive to most attractions will take you through neighborhoods nestled in the mountains. You will definitely need your GPS. Relax and enjoy!

The view from the deck is amazing. Out of San Juan enough to be relaxing, but close enough to do things in the city. Would definitely stay here again if ever traveling to Puerto Rico again.
