I have stayed at 4 VRBO's so far this year -- each one, until this one, was very warm and inviting -- as if someone were graciously sharing their private home with you and they cared as much about their home as they do you. This condo was not like that. Very uninviting, rough around the edges, the couches were stained and old - I put a blanket down before I laid on it, and I am not a germ-a-phobe by any means -- I backpack and have stayed in hostels that were more inviting and paid more attention to detail than this place. The term "penthouse" is over-rated -- it simply meant we were on the top floor. It was smaller than others I have been in at Myrtle Beach Resorts. This unit was the back unit which also made the balcony even smaller. Although the balcony was our favorite place to spend our time while in the unit. The kitchen & bathrooms were clean. The floor was clean. But no instructions on how to connect to wifi (turns out there was no private wifi, just unsecured), or how to leave the place before checking out, T.V. listings, no lists of "sites to see or restaurants to visit," no instructions on how to operate the thermostat. No attention to detail, no warmth to the place i.e. decorations, simple amenities beyond the basic one small roll of paper towels, two tiny bottles of shampoo (no conditioner) and one very small bottle of dish soap. If the place had felt inviting, these small details wouldn't have mattered, but this was as good as it got. Didn't feel valued
