Welcome to our charming log cabin nestled in a serene forest setting on 5 private acres! We have built and personally maintain Peaceful Pines and look forward to sharing it with our guests until we eventually use it as our retirement home. Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in nature at our tranquil vacation retreat. This cozy cabin offers a perfect getaway for couples, families, or a small group of friends seeking a peaceful and rustic vacation. Located minutes from Mount Vernon and close to nearby destinations such as LaConner, Anacortes, Whidbey Island, the San Juan Islands (by ferry) and Bellingham. Centrally located between 3 National Parks. Excellent bird watching on the property and surrounding areas.

Space:
Our log cabin features a warm and inviting interior with traditional wooden furnishings and a warm fireplace, providing a cozy atmosphere throughout your stay. Unwind and relax in the spacious living area, complete with plush seating and a large 72in. flat-screen TV for entertainment.

The fully-equipped kitchen boasts modern appliances, ensuring you have everything you need to prepare homemade meals. Enjoy your culinary creations at the comfortable island, or step outside onto the spacious covered front porch to dine amid the beauty of nature.

The cabin comfortably accommodates up to four guests, with two bedrooms. The primary bedroom offers a comfortable king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with a luxurious shower. The second bedroom also offers a king-sized bed. An additional full bathroom with tub and shower is also available for convenience.

Hypochlorous acid fogger is used after each stay to completely disinfect property before you arrive.

Outdoor Space:
Step outside onto the deck or covered front porch and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Surrounded by towering trees and a peaceful ambiance, our log cabin offers a private sanctuary for nature lovers. Relax in our outdoor barrel sauna nestled in the woods. Take a morning walk or evening stroll on our private trails, complete with wooden bridges, native vegetation and wildlife. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck or porch while watching the deer pass by and listening to the birds sing, or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine as you stargaze.

We felt at home the moment we walked into the cabin. From the welcome gift and personalized note to the flashlight in the night stand, the attention to detail is unsurpassed.Tim and Sue have created a beautiful, welcoming and superbly equipped space that is perfect for relaxing and recharging. This place is truly a gem, and if we come back to the Skagit Valley we will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in many rentals over the past 20 years and this was one of my favorites. Hosts have thought of everything from a personalized welcome note to wine, scones and s’mores fixings. The home is spotless, beds are comfy and surroundings are beautiful. Great home base to see the tulips in spring. Hope to return soon.

Everything was first rate at this lovely cabin in the woods and close to Mt Vernon and Big Lake. Hosts have done an amazing job outfitting the home and generously provisioned for rental.

This is our second stay at Peaceful Pines once this summer and this time for the week of Christmas. Sue and Tim are consummate hosts with little details added everywhere. It is truly warm and inviting and we love it. We can not recommend it enough!

This property exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin was exceptionally clean, comfortable, organized and decorated for the Holidays. Sue left us delicious scones, a nice bottle of wine and treats and toys for my grandchildren. She is the most thoughtful and thorough host that I have encountered in 50 years of traveling. I can’t recommend this beautiful and peaceful cabin highly enough to describe the experience we’ve had. Thank you, Sue!

This place has everything. It's clean, with room to navigate room to room. The personal touches are amazing. They even had a little jar of mini marshmallows for the hot chocolate! Don't miss the trails behind the house and do try the sauna. Instructions in the "green book" are very helpful for setting up sauna, TV, temperature control and the fireplace.

I can't emphasize how wonderful this property is! The cabin was immaculate, modern, and extremely comfortable! The kitchen was huge and well stocked! The host even left us a personalized welcome! We found the beds to be very cozy. The ductless heating and fireplace kept us nice and toasty. We really enjoyed the sauna! All instructions for the appliances and sauna were included in a central binder, something I wish more hosts would do. Plenty of room to park. Huge outdoor space! Loved the front porch! There's a reason this property is rated so highly! Recommend you book this now! I think this is one of the absolute best VRBOs I've seen!

The Peaceful Pines is exactly what it says it is - and more. We had a mini family reunion - initially one couple, then two couples, and for 6 hours on the final day, there were 11 of us aged between 9 years and 80 years old. All of us found ways to enjoy ourselves and to interact with others. The hosts were generous in their preparation for us. We even got great weather. The only problem we had was that we never got the automated message about how to access the property which ultimately did not matter because our hosts were available to tell us how to get in.

What a wonderful place to stay. The cabin had everything we needed. The extra little touches were very appreciated. The yard is so nice and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the girls play. They enjoyed the yard games that are there. Sue was very responsive when I had a Ihad a question.

If you are looking for the most perfect place in the pines this is it!! It had absolutely everything!! You enter the cabin and it looks like something out of a home goods catalog, perfectly decorated for our Fall trip and everything you need and more. Special treats waiting for you on the counter were a pleasant surprise and so appreciated. Loved the sauna and the firepit for our s'more nights. Stayed here to be close to Lang’s Horse and Pony Farm for a weekend riding retreat. The owners were very thoughtful, welcomed with a hand written note, blueberry muffins, s’mores makings. The house was immaculate and relaxing. There are so many things to enjoy while staying here, hope to stay here again!

Exceptional cabin with more amenities than you can possibly need. Beautifully decorated, spotless, peaceful and tucked away in a more private setting. You can tell the hosts go to great lengths to make it a wonderful experience for their guests. Thank you Tim and Sue!!! The Peaceful Pines cabin was amazing! Every amenity was thought of - we arrived to blueberry muffins and wine! The cabin was immaculate. Very comfortable. Some friends met us there for one of our evenings. We grilled bratwurst over the fire pit, enjoyed S’mores, played some Blongo Ball, and just relaxed! The cabin is just enough east of Mount Vernon that you forget you’re near town, but just a few miles to restaurants and a Haggen’s. The beds were very comfortable, as were the towels. The kitchen was well stocked. The chairs and couches were comfy. But we spent a lot of time on the porch! The chairs and loveseat were very relaxing. In fact, we ate on the porch as often as we could. We requested additional firewood after the first night, and Tim promptly delivered it. We enjoyed watching the rabbits around the yard. And we also got an unexpected visitor - a Bobcat on Saturday morning! They have a great TV upstairs, but honestly, we probably watched one movie over 3 days! We were at that fire pit or porch most of the time. The property and home are both beautiful. We used to live in La Conner, so we miss Skagit County. We come back a couple times a year to visit friends and family. The Peaceful Pines will hopefully be our ‘base camp’ for many years to come. Tim and Sue have thought of almost everything! There are even some family-friendly games upstairs - Tetris Link, Codenames and Shut the Box to name a few. It was our first VRBO! Awesome!

We had always wanted to stay at a log cabin and we finally got our wish. The cabin was clean well kept and extremely well appointed. Everything was perfect and matched exactly. The location was away from the city crowds and very quiet. Having the sauna was an extra bonus. The hosts responded within minutes to our one issue with the A/C and it was fixed quickly and painlessly.

The cabin is two-story two bedrooms, two baths with an open floor plan. Very large lawn area surrounded by beautiful woods along with a nice front porch with couch a couple of chairs for comfort and relaxation. We really appreciated how quiet it was being able to hear the birds and the rustling of the leaves. The cabin is situated at the end of the private roadway with 5 acre parcels in the area. It is obvious there is pride of ownership in this dwelling as it is immaculate, as well as well thought out for making our stay memorable. We have stayed in many VRBO‘s but this was by far the nicest regarding attention to detail and making us feel at home. A bottle of Chardonnay, for tasty blueberry muffins, and the s’more’s kit were A pleasant surprise upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Sincerely, Jim and Kay

This cabin is beautiful with a great layout. Our family enjoyed the two comfortable king beds, comfortable seating inside and outside and the fun games. The hosts left some great amenities for our comfort and fun. We enjoyed the fire pit and extra touch of providing stuff for S'mores. This cabin would be great for a small family or two couples. It sits on a private and quiet road with a lot of outdoor space to play. It's also close enough to town that you could pick up supplies if needed. Thank you for a great stay.

This by far was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. The cabin was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. It was also very thoughtful of the owners to leave all of the ingredients for S’mores. If we ever return to Washington again I would definitely book this cabin again!!!

You never know what you are going to get when you book a VRBO, but I booked Peaceful Pines and stayed in their incredible cabin, which left us in awe. Every corner of the property was impeccably designed and maintained. The attention to detail was truly impressive, with even the tiniest features adding to the overall charm of the place. From the warm handwritten note to the delicious blueberry muffins and a bottle of wine thoughtfully provided by the owners, every little detail made our stay a special and memorable one. I can confidently say that this was one of the best getaways I have ever experienced. It was truly a wonderful experience.
