CROSS HOUSE STUDIO Dog Friendly Stone Barn Conversion in the Heart of Warkworth

Cross House Studio was fully renovated in 2019 to provide luxury accommodation and is finished to an extremely high quality throughout.

It is situated in the very centre of this popular, picturesque and historic village only 500 yards from the castle. Shops, friendly village pubs, lovely cafes and unique bistros are all within 50 yards but the property still provides a quiet retreat being tucked away behind the main high street. Warkworth is dominated by its fine castle and riverside walks. It's only a 10 minute walk to the sandy bay which stretches from Alnmouth to Amble in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the coastal route providing over 20 miles of golden sandy beaches. It is an ideal holiday base for exploring the stunning coastline nearby as well as the Cheviot hills. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 6 miles. Boat trips to Coquet Island from Amble only 2 miles. Local golf course ½ mile. Train station 3 miles for day trips to Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond. A local bus service runs on a regular basis for more local journeys. This is an ideal location for exploring the Heritage coastline and beyond. The studio is behind the owner’s property along with one further holiday apartment.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Lawned garden (shared with owner and other property). Sitting-out area with garden furniture. Public car park 50 yards, free of charge. No smoking. We accept up to 2 medium well behaved dogs who stay for free.

Beautiful studio, exactly as described on site. Perfect for us and our two dogs. Loved having use of the garden. Owners are very friendly and helpful, great to have the local knowledge. Warkworth is stunning, beach is fabulous and an easy walk from the property and the coastal path walks are beautiful

Beautiful Appartment

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely appartment in Warkworth. Hosts were lovely & helpful, offering advice on the area and the appartment was spotless & had everything we needed. The Mason Arms was great for food & drink and just across the road. Bertram's also lovely for Brunch. Would definately return.

Property is spacious. Bed very comfy. Shower hot and good power jet for after long walks. Cooking area is well equipped. Tea and coffee on arrival was welcome. The underfloor heating was a real luxury, our dogs loved it. feet.

Great place!

Loved this studio!! Perfect stay with a dog. The location in Warkworth is perfect for great dog walks and the garden is perfect for morning and evening toilets. Such a peaceful and tranquil setting. Very well equipped. Great places to eat and drink in the village.

Fantastic & friendly!

A fantastic studio apartment, sparklingly clean and with a fab shower. It has a lovely walled garden which we all enjoyed. The hosts and their dogs are very friendly! Warkworth has great places to eat. We can recommend the Masons Arms for good food and very welcoming staff. It's also an easy walk along to Amble Harbour Village where there are more food options. The area is very dog friendly and has lots of beautiful beaches. We enjoyed dinner at The Heart of Northumberland in Hexham followed by a walking tour, The Hidden Horrors of Hexham - both dog friendly. Most of the independent shops allow dogs including the wonderful Barter Books in Alnwick. Lara can help you plan your days as she has great knowledge of the area and is obviously passionate about it. Like everyone we met, she wants visitors to enjoy the area. We were blown away by the hospitality and hope to visit again soon!

Excellent location

Perfect stay for myself, husband and our small dog in the heart of beautiful Warkworth. Amazing garden, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Accommodation was excellent all on one level with direct access to the garden through beautiful bi-folding doors. We enjoyed walks to Amble and to the gorgeous Warkworth beach . The property was lovely and had everything we needed. We looked out over a beautiful garden and found the owners so friendly and helpful. There were riverside walks and a number of places to eat out right on our doorstep. We will definitely be back.

Our stay in Warkworth

Lovely town, Lara was really helpful in giving advice on best pubs, walks etc. We thought parking might be an issue but it wasn't and we always found a space just around the corner from our studio. Great to have a garden to let the dogs into and feel safe that they couldn't escape! Did some amazing walks, and found Druridge Bay and country park great for the dogs as there was walks around lakes, paths, a cafe and beach access too! All in all, a fab stay. Big shout out to Jasper's in Amble where we had an amazing meal but you need to book well in advance.

Fantastic stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The studio is really cleverly built on to the owner’s house and has fantastic views of the garden. It was a perfect place for two, clean, roomy, bright and well-equipped. Warkworth itself is beautiful with great walks, lovely pubs and easy access to other neighbouring towns and villages. Highly recommended.
