The apartment was clean, efficiently set up. I was disappointed when I arrived, however, to a basement suite. I had requested an upper floor apartment well over a month prior to my arrival, received no response. I had asked Expedia to communicate this request, as well. No response. I reached out, again, prior to arrival, finally got a response. I was assured that the apartment was not in the basement, and connected to a central outdoor space. My apartment was most certainly in the basement, poor to no natural light. It did not connect to the inner " courtyard" . I requested a room change on arrival. The receptionist was kind, but was unable to offer an alternative due to avdilability. I was happy with the cleanliness of the apartment, and the location. I dreaded, however,returning to a dark basement when I wanted a brief rest.

Hotel is gorgeous, love the decor and trendy 70s inspired design. Room was enormous and very well decorated, though lack of drawers meant difficult to fully unpack with only hanging space. Giant balcony which was in the sun all day and overlooked the pool. Easy 10 minute walk to the beach. I felt the service let the stay down overall. Whilst housekeeping were excellent, front desk/lobby staff were not forthcoming with checking in on our stay, helping with taxis etc. Bar service around the pool needs improvements in processes. The outdoor bar was closed for the season which is fine, but ordering and delivering drinks around the pool was difficult, with insufficient staff available, and the bar itself frequently cluttered with dirty cups. Breakfast buffet was standard for a hotel of the size/category of the Kimpton, but again let down by inconsistent service, often with staff members forgetting drinks we'd ordered, or us having to search out a member of staff to place an order for coffee. We weren't informed breakfast was included in our booking and found this out on our second day after having breakfast elsewhere. Service overall I didn't find personal or personable, with us directed via the in-room tv or QR code to the website to place room service orders and find out about the hotel. The room service ordering was technically buggy and we couldn't resolve it. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but did try lunch once which I found overpriced and poor quality.
