I really regret having to write this review as not a reflection on most of the individuals we met during our stay. I stayed at this hotel for one night during January 2026 based on a recommendation.
After an extremely long travel day, we were very tired, and the warm welcome from the check‑in staff was truly appreciated, helped us feel comfortable right away and made a great first impression.
The room was suitable for a short stay, and both dinner and breakfast offered enough variety for us to enjoy a pleasant meal. A US$50 hold was placed on my card for incidentals, which I understood.
Unfortunately, checkout was where the experience changed. After waiting for the room inspection, we were told the room smelled of smoke and that someone had been smoking inside. None of us smoke, and never have. I explained this, and also mentioned that we had been wearing citronella bands, which have a scent but are definitely not cigarette smoke. The staff member simply replied, “Well, that is what we were told,” in a very dismissive tone.
Whilst they may have had challenges like this in the past it would have made a difference to have felt as though I was being listened to. She did mention in the end she would need to contact the manager; however I was so frustrated by then thatI left annoyed indicating that could hold on to the deposit if that is what they really believed.s.. I also mentioned a personal item left behind by a previous guest that housekeeping may have missed.
