Beyond an arched stone entrance and up a tiled, wrought-iron stairwell, the apartment opens into a bright living and dining room finished with a dark geometric-panelled feature wall, a grey sofa and a small dining table for easy meals in.

The open-plan kitchen comes with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher and coffee machine, so cooking a Modenese meal at home is as easy as stepping out for one. The bedroom, dressed in the same dark panelling, opens directly onto a private terrace over the rooftops of the historic centre, and the ensuite bathroom\'s curved, sculpted wall niche gives the whole apartment a distinctly bohemian, design-led feel. Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport is roughly a 30-minute drive away, and public transport is within walking distance for exploring further afield.
